Selena Gomez launches debut fragrance, with notes picked by her fans
Selena Gomez has become the latest actress to launch her own fragrance through licensing company ID Perfumes, as we reported last December. Due to be launched exclusively at Macy's in mid-May, the Givaudan created scent is said by Gomez to be crafted around her favourite ingredients, which were then voted for by fans. As previously reported, a group of fans flew in to smell the final modifications following an online master class from the Disney actress as to what top, middle and base notes are.
The notes which made it past the actress and her fans are orange, pineapple, peach and raspberry in the top, middle notes of purple freesia, Cosmone musk and dewberry, and amber, vanilla, chocolate and coconut in the base. The juice is presented in a purple bottle made to look like a swirling dress. Gomez says of the bottle design “I knew I wanted a tall bottle, because I feel like it can kind of stand up with all the other fragrances". The advertising was shot by Greg Kadel and is of Gomez, underwater in a purple dress.
The eau de parfum will be available in two sizes, 1.7 oz. retailing at $45 and 3.4 oz. retailing at $55.
