Chanel's Jacques Polge to retire. Son, Olivier Polge to replace him

Chanel have announced the arrival of Olivier Polge (pictured) as Perfumer in the Chanel Fragrance Laboratory, alongside his father Jacques Polge and Christopher Sheldrake. Polge Jr. has worked at IFF since 1998 and had created fragrances such as Dior Homme, Flowerbomb and Guerlain's Cuir Beluga.

Jacques Polge joined Chanel in 1978 will continue occupying his position until the time when Olivier Polge replaces him as Creator of Chanel Fragrances.

Christopher Sheldrake has been Director of Research and Development at the Chanel Laboratory since 2005. Chanel say that he "will carry on his role of ensuring the smooth functioning of this department while continuing to work as a creative tandem with Jacques Polge, and then Olivier Polge."

The company also add that on Olivier's arrival at Chanel in September he will "undergo a complete integration program within the House and its culture."
