19th March, 2014

Givaudan perfumers Antoine Maisondieu, Calice Asancheyev-Becker, Shyamala Maisondieu and Yann Vasnier have all had a hand in creating the latest fragrance for Tom Ford: Velvet Orchid.

Velvet Orchid contains notes of Italian bergamot, mandarin, rum succan absolute and honey in the top; jasmine, Turkish rose, Cattleva leopoldii orchid, black orchid, orange blossom, Moroccan rose, heliotropin, magnolia, jonquil and hyacinth make up the heart of the fragrance; and the base contains labdanum, sandalwood, peru balsam, myrrh, suede and Comoro island vanilla.

Velvet Orchid will be available as 50ml and 100ml Eau de Parfum.

Hmm.. sounds interesting. Not too big of a fan of Estee Lauder based perfumes.. too general ususally.

Could be good - I have come very close on Black Orchid, and even closer on the Voile flanker, but this one could pass the tipping point for a buy. Have to check it out!

That's some serious (nose) all-star power creating that scent!
