Papillon Perfumery launches today with three perfumes

24th June, 2014

Launching today are three fragrance by new UK-based perfume house Papillon Perfumery. Three years in the making, Anubis, Angélique and Tobacco Rose have been created by house founder and perfumer, Elizabeth Moores who says her "perfume creations are greatly influenced by periods of history, romantic and literary concepts, nature, people and artwork; much like a painting or a piece of poetry it is the fragments which are extracted from these muses that combine and make something entirely new"

When creating a perfume, I think of colours, textures and places. I imagine the people who may wear the fragrance and hope that the perfume will help them conjure their own unique and personal allusions.

The use of exceptional materials in my work allows for the greatest inspiration and the three perfumes I have created for Papillon are illuminated by simplicity and free from gimmicks.

This collection embodies my personal philosophy that honesty and integrity will inevitably create something beautiful.

Notes of Jasmine, Suede, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Labdanum, Immortelle, Pink lotus and Saffron.

With a name inspired by the Egyptian God of the afterlife, Anubis embodies the sacred mysteries of Ancient Egypt. Heady blooms of jasmine, amid rich suede, smoulder over an incense laden base of frankincense, sandalwood and labdanum.

Vivid slashes of immortelle, pink lotus and saffron create a perfume shrouded in darkness and veiled in mystery.

Notes of Iris Pallida, French mimosa, Osmanthus, White champac, Orris, Virginian cedar wood and Frankincense.

Inspired by the astonishing beauty of the Iris Pallida flower, Angelique captures the delicate essence of a delightful Spring garden.

Cascades of French mimosa, osmanthus and white champac are woven between the powdered, violet facets of precious orris.

Virginian cedarwood and subtle notes of frankincense bring an ethereal light and delicate freshness to this tender composition.

Tobacco Rose

Notes of Bulgarian rose, Geranium, Rose de Mai, French hay, Oakmoss, Ambergris, Beeswax and Musks

Notes of Bulgarian rose, Geranium, Rose de Mai, French hay, Oakmoss, Ambergris, Beeswax and Musks

A sensual blend of Bulgarian rose, geranium and Rose de Mai form an opulent backdrop of velvety rose notes set against a luxuriously rich and smoky base of French hay and earthy oakmoss.

Soft animalic touches of ambergris and beeswax have been suspended in a sumptuous blend of musks, creating an enigmatic, alluring and unmistakable perfume.

A stunningly different interpretation of the majestic rose

All three fragrances are available at Les Sentuers and from the Papillon Perfumery website, where you can also purchase samples.
