Van Cleef adds Bois Doré and Rêve de Cashmere to Collection Extraordinaire

13th July, 2017

Van Cleef & Arpels has added two fragrances to its Collection Extraordinaire – Bois Doré and Rêve de Cashmere. Both have been created by Firmenich perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin.

The Collection Extraordinaire was launched in 2009, and is said to be "aimed at lovers of unique fragrances and intimate emotions."

Bois Doré gives centre stage to tonka bean and wood. Pellegrin says, “I composed Bois Doré to be a wood that has fused with the luminosity of gold. I chose noble cedarwood and the hypnotic intensity of tonka bean, to which I added a touch of musk and vanilla to reinforce the character of this irresistibly delicious fragrance. I wanted you to be drawn to it as if it were a nugget of gold.”

Notes for the fragrance include black pepper and hot stone accord in the head; cedarwood and vanilla make up the heart of the fragrance; and tonka bean feature in the base notes.

Rêve de Cashmere pays homage to the feel of a downy fabric as it touches bare skin. “The idea of a delicate fragrance as comfortable as a cashmere stole was at the heart of this creation,” explains perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin.

Notes for the fragrance include bergamot and jasmine in the head; a heart of white musks, heliotrope and sandalwood; and leather, black vanilla and indonesian patchouli feature in the base notes.

Bois Doré and Rêve de Cashmere are available now as 75ml Eau de Parfums.

The Van Cleef Extraordinaire Collection scents are really nice, I have a couple. The Cashmere one looks really interesting, need to try that one for sure.
