Tom Ford to launch Beau de Jour

by Judith Brockless, 07th January, 2019

Beau de Jour

Beau de Jour is the latest fragrance from Tom Ford's 'Private Blend' collection.  The fragrance's opening notes involve 'an energetic hybrid of lavenders', including Provençal lavender, combined with cardamom and saffron.  Next come heart notes of African rosemary, an 'electric green' basil, jasmine sambac, minty geranium, and oakmoss; patchouli and amber feature in the base notes.

Beau de Jour presents a scent for the perfectly groomed gentleman who considers every detail. He exhibits the best version of himself to the world, but beneath the surface is something deeper, refreshing and sublime in all its layers.

Beau de Jour will be available from March in three sizes: 50ml (£162), 100ml (£238) and a 250ml decanter.

I imagine Nieman Marcus will have this available to try in store soon.

Cannot wait to try this one.

Great name. I usually don't care for this line though. I would be more interested if it was in mainstream line, but it won't stop me from trying it if I come across it.

This one has been available in stores for a little while now. Just tried it and purchased a bottle from Neiman Marcus this week. Fougere fans and fans of fragrances like Invasion Barbare will enjoy this. I get great performance out of it. That said, I don't know if it justifies the cost. It was an impulse buy on my part because I was able to use the NM promotion currently going on.

I will have to sample this. This does sound like a fougere, but I have enough patch/ambers.

I tried Beau de Jour, and I wasn’t too excited. I also tried Fucking Fabulous, which fell flat for me.

can't help feeling that he is constantly chasing another version of his Rive Gauche

Unless it moves me i will probably just be happy with a sample

I bought a bottle and like it quite a bit. It doesn't best Rive Gauche, in my opinion, but somewhat in the same vein. It performs better for me longevity-wise. I actually find it pretty close to Invasion Barbare.
