Speakers at the club in 2010 include European Central Bank president Jean-Claude Trichet, Prime Minister of Greece George Papandreou, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Mary Schapiro, Federal Reserve Bank of New York President William C. Dudley and Presidential Economic Recovery Advisory Board Chairman Paul Volcker.
Throughout history, speakers at the club have included Mikhail Gorbachev, Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, several Presidents of the United States, including Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy, as well as justices of the Supreme Court, governors, ambassadors and heads of major business enterprises.
"I am gratified by the honor of joining the Economic Club of New York, and I tremendously look forward to participating in this august forum for the examination of issues important to business and society," Mr. Saujet said.
Mr. Saujet co-founded International Cosmetics & Perfumes, Inc. 15 years ago with his brother, Thomas. In addition to stewardship of their company, Messrs. Saujet are now more personally active in nonpartisan civic, community and international affairs. Both executives recently joined the French American Chamber of Commerce. TIME Magazine named the brothers to its People To Watch in Global Business.
A dual citizen of France and the United States, Emmanuel Saujet earned his undergraduate degree at Tufts University. He earned his MBA at New York University's Stern School of Business.
