Escentric Molecules launch vetiver-based scent duo

by Grant Osborne, 10th December, 2010

Escentric Molecules have released a third pair of fragrances. Created by perfumer Geza Schoen, EM03 has ginger root at its top, orris root at its heart and vetiver root at its base. As with the first two pairs, launched in 2006 and 2008, Schoen has designed two scents as an homage to a single scent ingredient, or aroma-chemical. The aromachemical this time is vetiveryle acetate, a refined vetiver note which is celebrated at its purest in Molecule 03.

Escentric 03, on the other hand, is a tribute to the more familiar side of vetiver: its dark, slightly exotic woodiness. The fragrance opens with a burst of freshness – the ginger root is joined by top notes of green peppercorn and Mexican lime. The heart of orris is surrounded by Egyptian jasmine and soft tea notes. Then, at the base of the fragrance, the slightly bitter notes of vetiver are smoothed by rich amber shades of sandalwood, cedar, leather and musk.

The packaging has been designed by MeCompany.

Escentric 03 and Molecules 03 are available now.
