Icelandic perfume house, Andrea Maack, will be at London's Les Senteurs this Thursday to preview her fragrance range, which has a UK launch for May. The event is free to attend, but you must book with the store in advance.

Maacks three fragrances are as follows:

  • Smart : Violet leaf, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Vanilla, White musk, Buskin

  • Craft :Aldehyde, Elemi, Cold metal, Ice, Cedarwood, Patchouli

  • Sharp: Orange blossom, Angel skin, Sweet vanilla, White musk

Les Senteurs tell us:

ANDREA MAACK LIVE AT LES SENTEURS 6.30PM Thursday 17th February 2011.

Entry free: booking essential.

Spend the evening in conversation with Andrea Maack, designer of Iceland's first perfume house, and the Les Senteurs team.

Andrea's 3 fragrances - SMART, CRAFT & SHARP - are a celebration of a cerebral, innovative interaction between her own conceptual art installations and the intellectual connotations of scent. Inspired by Icelandic lore, images of fairy-tale and the futuristic idea of Andrea's own "wearable sculptures" these scents challenge the direction in which niche fragrance is developing in the 21st century, and break away in a intriguing style from the traditional emotional link between emotion and perfume.

Join us for a glass of champagne and a most stimulating and challenging evening! Space very limited and demand great, so don't delay in making your reservation on 020 7730 2322

All being well, I'll attend the event and write an article about it for Basenotes.

One of the notes in "Smart" is "buskin." Is that a typo? Her website lists it as "buckskin." :)

And what the heck is "angel skin." Gee, you'd think if musk was outlawed, angel skin should be too!

The "elemi" is intriguing. I wonder if I've smelled it in other perfumes before.
