Bond No. 9 launch fifth Harrods fragrance : Harrods Amber

by Grant Osborne, 05th June, 2011

Bond No. 9 is launching it's fifth scent for the iconic London store Harrods. The new fragrance is named Harrods Amber, and follows Harrods Rose, Oud, 'for Him' and 'for Her'.

The top notes of the fragrances are bergamot, saffron, nutmeg and white peppercorn; heart notes include majestic rose, jasmine and osmanthus; the dry down of the fragrance features oud, amber, sandalwood, musk, myrrh and benzoin.

Of the bottle, Bond No.9 say:Like its predecessors in the Bond No. 9 for Harrods collection, the Harrods Amber bottle design is a decorative network of Harrods’ signature H, displayed in gold against an amber-colored (of course) background, with the Bond No. 9/Harrods gold token serving as centerpiece logo. The complimentary golden-amber tones create a subtle but spellbinding visual harmony. The jewel-like cap, in semi-transparent amber, continues that effect.

Harrods Amber is available from June 15, 2011 and will be sold exclusively at Harrods and at Bond No. 9’s six New York stores, and at harrods.com and bondno9.com.

The notes sound intriguing. I love amber, but am not sure about the oud note. It must have very expensive ingredients to justify such a steep price. For sure, I will try a bonbon sample, and then see whether it is bottle worthy.

Received the sample from Harrods and tried it daily for 4 days till I finished it...the verdict is...

Overall disappointed as it is not an amber scent; feels more like a watery floral with lasting power on the feminine side...

Won`t be part of my wardrobe...

      Neutral thumbs...
