Six Scents and The Standard Spa Collaborate on New Fragrances

by Lila Das Gupta, 08th December, 2011

In celebration of Art Basel Miami Beach 2011, Six Scents and flavour and fragrance house, Symrise, have created two fragrances inspired by The Standard Spa Miami Beach’s gardens. The creators have also commissioned two installations to coincide with the launches entitled ‘Verde’ and ‘Incense into the Sea’.

“When we conceived The Standard Spa, we spent a lot of time traveling and researching bathing cultures, ancient and modern, across the world", the company says. "This study of history and respect for elements that have always been a part of this tradition, greatly informed these scents."

Symrise perfumer, David Apel has created the juice.

INCENSE INTO THE SEA is described as a"mystical veil of incense floating on notes of the sea with minerality and salty woody warmth, hints of misty green foliage on the walls of a private Garden"

VERDE is described as lush tropical rain dripping down from green leaves with galbanum resin, and dried orris root, woods, white flowers, shiso leaf and lavender.
