I got my bottle of M7 Fresh a few weeks ago and for the life of me, I can't understand why no one has said anything about the similarity between it and Acqua di Gio. Hasn't anyone noticed this? It's the persimmon accord.
Jasmine, Rosemary, Hespiradic Notes
Persimmon Fruits, Marine Notes
Cedar, Patchouli, White Musk, Rock Rose
M7 Fresh starts out with a citrus blast (grapefruit, bergamot) fused...and I mean bonded to the persimmon accord, you could blink and miss the citrus and just get persimmon. Persimmon is a berry and M7 Fresh smells more like a berry than a citrus upon first spraying. I wouldn't call it a linear fragrance because when the slight citrus/berry disappears you almost don't notice it because the persimmon is still going strong. After several hours, the persimmon is still present but the other notes like wood start to appear (agarwood, ginger, vetiver, musk).
M7 Fresh lasts for hours on my skin, maybe 6 or 7 hours even in intense heat here in Mexico. At the end, I can sort of smell the agarwood and oud but....that persimmon accord is still there demanding attention.
I have to admit that I love this. ADG, I can spot a mile away and I have admit I am a fragrance snob and I say to myself..."novice!" when I smell it. M7 Fresh doesn't have that melon/marine aspect that ADG has but uses the same persimmon accord to make it a fresh, woody scent. The wood never dominates the fruit but adds a depth to the fruit. I suspect this could be worn all year.
I challenge anyone else that has both scents to try the same test and see if they don't share the persimmon accord. I am just wondering why no one has said anything about this before!
