I just ordered a bottle of L'Atelier Boheme's Fil de Soie from Luckyscent.
I just ordered a bottle of L'Atelier Boheme's Fil de Soie from Luckyscent.
Expecting Aqua di Parma Colonia in the coming week.
Well, I didn't officially 'buy' these, but they arrived in the mail today - a Xrissy gift from a dear friend who works at C&S in Jermyn ST, London!
They certainly made a great start to my December!
Its the first time Ive smelled the C&S fragrances, - last night I sampled the No.88 and at first thought I felt as though I had stepped into an Indian emporium, with the smell of thick incense and turkish delight! As it developed, it turned into delicious "pink musk lollies", a fave smell of mine from my childhood!
Today I will sample the Cuba, which promises to be as fab as No.88.
Nice! I got C&S no.88 a month ago and I love it!
The Cuba sounds good too!
Last week I got Carthusia Numero Uno for my birthday and now I wanna try the Uomo.
Does it ever stop, :(
Kiatbkk, I know 100mls of C&S dont come cheap... I really like the No.88, but have just put the Cuba on the swap board in the marketplace. Its not entirely to my taste.
Im sure it may make a special BN'er (someone who can fully appreciate it, and wear it with pride) very happy. :o
Don't wanna sound like a copycat fragrance stalker psycho, but it looks like we share some simmilar taste in fragrance .
I mean, Carthusia, C&S no.88, Acqua di Parma intensa. Maybe it sets my mind off the Cuba for a while knowing it's not for me also.
Still, I wanna sample it.
I send a mail to C&S a few weeks ago for a sample of Cuba, but they said they were out of samples. (tell me, why do I doubt that, every time a company says that:rolleyes:)
So, the Cuba is bit too flowery? then it's not for me.
Hi Eric, indeed we do share a few similar scents :) It would be interesting to also compare complexion, background, hair/eye colour and lifestyles etc, just to see if our choices are determined perhaps by something greater than just our noses!
I'll set your mind at ease and tell you that C&S do not have samples.
My best friend from college works at C&S H.O. as Art Director and i have been begging her for a few samples for approximately 9 months. She told me they had none. I have been nagging for a decant or at least a spritz on a paper tissue, and I assume this is why (after more than 6 months) the 2 full-size bottles appeared on my doorstep today!
I would suggest you try it, as the feedback in the review section is overwhelmingly positive. Unfortunately for me, although I don't dislike "Cuba", I simply dont want to smell of it. The tobacco accord is a little too astringent for my liking.
got in my last beautyhabit order.
Picked up douce amere, a diptyque pomander candle, and a few small gifts.
Dimitri, what a great gift!
Today I bought, from fellow basenoters, Live Jazz (my quest is to own all of the YSL men's line, apparently), Diptyque's Eau de Lierre, and Aoud Lime. And just when I told myself to hold off on new acquisitions! Good prices, though.
Yesterday I bought a 3.4 back up bottle of Musc Ravageur from a fellow basnoter and I have a bottle of Guerlain's Heritage edp on the way.
250 ml TDC Rose Poivree + 100 ml AOS Sandalwood
Samples from TPC:
Iris Gris by Fath
Cuir Ottoman by Parfum D'Empire
Iris Bleu Gris by Maitre Parfumeur Et Gantier
Avignon by Comme Des Garcons ( decant )
Passage D'Enfer by L'Artisan
Sa Majeste La Rose by Serge Lutens
Oltre by Laura Tonatto
Pink Grapefruit by Floris
Olibanum by Profumum
Bought Boucheron Trouble 50ml ..... Dior Homme 50ml and Escada Magnetism (her) 50ml... got sample vials of J'Adore and a few Tommy scents.
As you see, Guess Man and Perry Black. I like both of them.
Just ordered another bottle of Worth PH (current bottle getting low). This one is the kid brother of Paco Rabanne. Very similar notes but on a much quieter level. And very affordable. An unsung hero.
85 mls of Fifi Chachnil in the pretty pink bottle...this scent has entirely captivated me. It's feminine in the extreme, with a bit of snap to it. Sort of like Tabac Blond in reverse? Tabac Blond is leather and high heel boots, Fifi is pale pink chiffon ....with stilettos and a garter belt. Why am I relating the two? Is it the leather notes that are dominant in Tabac Blond, more subtle in the Fifi, but decidedly present? And the way they make me feel.
Still in the mail:
Voleur de Roses
The MPG Ambre Précieux and the Carthusia Numero Uno I ordered in late November arrived today from Beauty Habit. Can't wait to test and report on these!
In the mail....Sables 100ML. AG.... Santos concentrate 100ML Cartier. I am thinking about Ambre Precieus100ML. MPG. Still undecided.
OK, so these were there when I got to the office today. The Ambre Précieux is just as rich and voluptuous as I remember it from a long time ago. And the Carthusia Numero Uno deserves high praise. It's a beautiful, dense green chypre that I think is going to become one of my favorites. Very typical chypre, and very green in a totally masculine way. I don't think too many women would go for this one!
After work, I had occasion to go downtown and ended up at Barney's. They had the Nasomatto Duro I had been waiting for, so I got that. The SA also showed me a perfume oil by Regina Harris, New York. There were two of them, but the one I instantly clicked with was one called Frankincense Myrrh Rose Maroc. So naturally, I popped for that one too. It's half an ounce (15 ml.) for USD 125, and it comes in an amber-brown bottle. The other one was in a blue bottle; that one is called Amber Vanilla, and made less of an impression on me. They had exactly three of each. They had gotten in six of the Nasomatto Duro, and I snagged the last one.
Today I bought and paid for SDV.
Picked up Tom Ford for Men and Narciso Rodriguez for Him from a fellow BNer..
Also bought Silver Factory from BeautyCafe w/ the now disabled 15% off BN coupon.
Today I received Habit Rouge and a tester of John Varvatos. Happy with both!
Coming tomorrow will be New York from Nikolai, and a 50 ml bottle of Ineke Derring-Do!
My friend bought me a bottle of Allure - Chanel... gag... I hate to tell her how I don't like it... I'll be trading it (anyone?? Anyone??)
Some bottles arrived from e-bay yesterday -
Amazone Hermes perfume vintage
and before that - vintage Vetiver Givenchy
Eau d`Hadrien Goutal
Narciso Rodrigues for men

While snooping around MUA, I saw a member had a decant up for sale of the paris-exclusive Red Aoud from Montale. Bought it!
From the description it is Black Aoud with a more floral twist, anybody have more info on this? Can't wait!
l'Instant de Guerlain set with the EDT and shower gel.
It's not for me though.
A large sized decant of Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford (Private Blends)
This, gentleman, might just be my holy grail leather scent - Eau de Hermes and Dzing are getting a little jealous...

M7 from the YSL boutique in Manhattan. Good stuff.
Decided to pick up a full bottle of Fou d'Absinthe after it was my SOTD... love this stuff, lasts all day on me. Also picked up Fleur d'Oranger 2007 from L'Artisan.
Also bought 5ml of Absinthe by Ava Luxe
Cafe Noir edp 60ml and Moss edp 60ml from Serena(Avaluxe).
1. Live Jazz by Yves Saint Laurent - something I wanted and finally found!
1 Lalique for men (Lion) - Lalique
1 Lalique - Equus by Lalique
Where did you find this?
New package arrived to me full of vintages:
1. Fougere Royale parfum by Houbigant - 15 ml out of 30 ml
2. Mitsouko parfum by Guerlain (flacon Colonne) - 7 ml
3. Monsieur Carven EDT - 50 ml
4. Cabochard de Gres EDP - 50 ml
5. Knize Ten EDC - vintage splash - 100 ml
Most exciting was Houbigant perfume, which is the grand-grand-father of Lavande Annick Goutal, for example.
Just about an hour ago I bought Hugo Dark Blue (75ml) and YSL L'Homme (100ml).
Ah, I'm going mad now, LOL.
In the next 2 days there will be a big warehouse sale, of course, I'll be there. Looking forward to getting Salvatore Ferragamo and Bvlgari Black.
200 ml EdP of Prada INFUSION D' IRIS
if i'm not wrong it's the 1980 copyright and formulation
it's this one i remember to be so magnificient
(and i've just missed some samples on ebay)
(i've got the 1996 copyright and it's yet a modified formulation i think)
this month i bought in a private internet sale some fragrances from Parfums D'Orsay (which are no longer available in France):
- Etiquette bleue
- Arome 3
- Arome 3 trdition
- Chevalier d'Orsay
I just ordered an 8ml decant of Amouage Jubilation XXV.
Thiery Mugler B Men
I got the Guerlain Vetiver here: http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWN:IT&ih=012
Yes it's the 1980's edition. I actually love all three formulations...
Wasn't going to buy anything for a long time, but I was drunk ( Saturday night, not right now) and couldn't resist ordering Creed Santal Imperial and John Varvatos Vintage. Both blind buys, so I'm anticipating their arrival.
Ordered but yet to arrive on my mat a 93ml L'Heure Bleue edt in a rechargeable canister
Jean Patou Joy EDP and Shower/bath lotion (for a Christmas present).
Today, just a few hours ago, I bought these scents from a warehouse sale, all 50ml-bottles.
2 x 25ml purse sprays of Agent Provocateur ... gifts for a few women in my life :)
Astonishingly, they are a new release at our supermarket chain here in Denmark. ($38USD each).
Yesterday, I picked up a bottle of Hermès Eau des Merveilles. For the longest time, I haven't been able to decide if I liked this or the Elixir des Merveilles better. To complicate matters further, Hermès now has a third in the series, Parfum des Merveilles. I decided I might end up getting all three, so I started with the weakest; thus, if I go further, I can go from strength to strength, as the saying goes...
Again, today, I bought a set of Kenneth Cole Signature, which is consisted of 100ml-EDT and 100ml-Aftershave.
30 ml of blue stratos aftershave splash for £3.95. I haven't smelled this for about 30 years. It was the first fragrance I was obsessed with (along with old spice).
Kouros...if I have ever had a true signature scent, it was Kouros in the 80's. It's a timeless scent that I should never be without.
I bought a new bottle for $35. This is not a widely discounted scent. It is almost impossible to find a 1.6 OZ for less than $30. That's kind of strange for a scent that's been around that long.
