Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
Flear du Male - JPG
Aqua di Gio - Armani
Brit - Burberry
Homme Soir - Bvlgari
Dirty English - Juicy Countre
Zero Plus - Diesel
London - Paul Smith
What do you guys think of any (if you know them all that'd be awesome!) of these 7? I already have l'eau d'issey and the original boss in motion and I want another couple to add to my wardrobe and then I reckon I'm good for a while. So yeah if you guys can help with the general smell, sillage, projection etc of these 7 scents that'd be really appreciated :) Link to any questions you need answering about the ones in my basenotes wardrobe too :D Cheers guys!

Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
I love and own Fleur du Male, i think it's a sleeper. Great sillage and longevity, quite a unique and refined smell. I've had good feedback with this one.
Aqua di Gio is a best seller, one of the most massified and overused frags. It's the perfect example of the aquatic/fresh family. I don't like it, but I recognize it works well for most people.
I haven't tried the others, only quick sniffs, so I can't talk about them too much.

Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
Hmm, out of those I'd go with Dirty English. It's an ok woody frag, though I prefer Gucci pour homme 1.
Brit is an ok powdery scent. ADG gets a lot of love, but the cucumber puts me off personally. Fleur du Male is a little too strong and long-lasting for me. Nuclear sillage! Not too familiar with the others. I'm more into more old school, vintage scents nowadays, but you might wanna add some modern orientals into your collection.
Rochas Man - gourmand, starts out green and sugary and progresses to a light, creamy base. Nice, inexpensive, gets lots of compliments
Versace Dreamer - Very synthetic but good. Somewhat harsh opening but gets really smooth after awhile. Also a good compliment getter.
Caron l'Anarchiste - Good green / oriental scent with a musky drydown. I still use this a lot.
And if you wanna try something completely different, check out Kouros. It's probably a lot different from what you're used to in cologne, but it's completely awesome if you can get into it.

Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
I am not the biggest fan of any of the ones on your list... That said, I own Acqua di Gio and like it to some degree.

Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
I give a nod towards Fleur du Male and Dirty English.

You can't go wrong with any of these. They are some of my favorites.

From this list, Brit and Dirty English

Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
Don't really a fan of any of them, although if I had to pick I'd go for Dirty English.

Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
Burberry Brit for Men by Burberry - Upon application, one is greeted with a spirited, spicy citrus, furnished by the green mandarin, bergamot, ginger and cardamom. This zesty confluence meanders to its middle, where a spicy wood, from its cedarwood and nutmeg, joins in creating a pleasant, vanillish aura. This melange is slowly infiltrated by the lovely, wild roses, adding a powdery dimension to the heart. As the citrus dies away and the heart's spicy sweetness prevails, it joins the strengthening base, with its grey musk, tonka bean and oriental woods, to enhance the powdery vanilla superimposed on a woody, musky background. This pleasing and complex composition renders a clean and fresh vibe, and has good projection and longevity.
&
Bulgari pour Homme Soir by Bulgari - An initial burst of refreshing bergamot, halfway between a lemon and an orange, with its tart and juicy green and very faint mint-like aspects, professes the clean and fresh opening. The darjeeling tea beckons the invigorating bergamot to stew in the heart, and infuses it with its somewhat powdery and medicinal woodiness morphing the sharp citrus into a more fruity bent. Guaiacwood, with its honey and smoky features, and papyrus, with its withered grassy and light wood facets, serve as a background for the simmering brew, which has acquired a sweet and wet earthiness. The waiting base, with its soft and almost syrupy amber as well as its radiant and slightly soapy musk, tugs for recognition and carries the tea blend to its delightful drydown. This classy fragrance can be an all-season treat, and has average projection, becoming a skin scent, and good longevity.
both get a "thumbs up" ...

From the rest I would choose: Brit.

I see the word "classic" has been newly defined.

This was my first thought as well...
Out of those, I think I like Dirty English slightly less than the rest.

Yes, I agree. Maybe classic "post 90's best sellers and flankers" defines it more clearly.

Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
Not really 'classics', but I guess that point has been made!
Of those, I only own PS London. It is a big favourite of mine. If you own the original (pre 're-launch') version, even better.

Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
I don't own or love any of those to be honest, but my favorite of the bunch would be Homme Soir
-
Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
I like Fleur du Male, Brit, and Dirty English from that list. PH Soir is alright, but didn't really grab my attention. Acqua di Gio is nice, but a) ubiquitous and b) not really for me.

Fleur du Male - JPG > My favorite of the bunch, albeit it is quite fem for my tastes, Kurkdjan made a wonderful work here.
Aqua di Gio - Armani > Too common, watery and non substantial.
Brit - Burberry > No idea.
Homme Soir - Bvlgari > Prominent base notes, it focuses in the musks. Not my cup of tea.
Dirty English - Juicy Countre > No idea. In my "to try" list. If it is close to Gucci PH I, great.
Zero Plus - Diesel > No idea, same as above.
London - Paul Smith > Too strong albeit a good complex one. Not to easy to pull out, to tell you the truth.

Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
Sorry don't like any of those :(
-
Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
Nah, I've never heard of it, what's it like?
-
Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
Haaa! I didn't mean classic in terms of Cool Water or Kouros; just fragrances that most people have smelt/own.
-
Re: Got some classic scents here guys, which is your favourite?
don't post on the question then?

Out of the ones listed I think that Brit is ok. It is a little too powdery for me.
