do you have a signature scent?
i'm familiar with so many great scents, i don't even have a signature anymore.
maybe i'll find one, but when i do, it often changes, and there's nothing wrong with that.
right now, as of 2012 overall, the fragrance that got the most wearing out of me was One Million.
what about you? do you fragrance collectors have a signature scent?
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I do you some more than others, but none for me really.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
No, I'm always wearing/testing different scents.

Re: do you have a signature scent?
I try to be good about rotating my frags, and never wearing the same thing twice within in a week or more. But the best candidate I have for my signature scent, should I ever decide to go that route, is VanCleef & Arpels PH. That one just does everything right for me.

Same here, and I don't think it's going to change any time soon; even if I become unemployed (knocks on wood), my wardrobe will last a few good years, not to mention the samples.

Re: do you have a signature scent?
No, I own too many scents and like too many different ones to be able to pick any one as my signature. I do, however, tend to wear Odeur 53 and Chanel Eau de Cologne more than the others these days... but then again, that's probably just because they're in such big bottles, haha...
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
No. But, if I had to pick one, it'd be A*Men. I reach for that the most, it's perfect for my needs.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Not for sure yet. I have go to fragrances, such as Habit Rouge, Mitsouko, Chanel No.19.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I'm always wearing different scents, but when I think of a "signature scent," I think of two things: 1) My "go-to" scent. The one I find myself reaching for the most. 2) The one that when others smell something similar to it, they think of me.
That said...right now, I would say:
Year round = Mont Blanc Legend
Warmer weather = Tom Ford for Men
Cooler weather = Tom Ford for Men Extreme (once I buy it)
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Not really. But I do choose Menthe Fraiche when I do not know what to wear.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I guess my favorite and most worn fragrance (by far) is Aventus. But I have so many, I only wear that about once / month.
With a large collection, you can't really have a signature scent - unless you really neglect a large portion of your collection.

Re: do you have a signature scent?
No signature scent here. Just as I don't wear the same clothes everyday, I don't wear the same scent everyday.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Before I started collecting, Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme was my signature scent. I swear I went thru at least 4 125ml bottles.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Nope. This. Is. Basenotes!!
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
It is not necessary my most used scent but I always think of Gucci PH II as my signature because its "me in the bottle" and my lady (and ex too) love it on me.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Not yet.
I wear Costume National's 21 with more frequency than others in the spring though.

If I ever have a signature scent, it would be Gucci PH II. I understand what you mean by 'me in a bottle', I'm kind of glad that it's not a popular fragrance with the public, as I don't think I'd want to smell it on anyone else. I see it as my scent. Smells amazing, versatile, good all year round, not too expensive.

Re: do you have a signature scent?
My answer is "sort of", a signature rotation being more of an option for me. While I cannot settle for one single signature frag, it is however pretty easy, pleasant, versatile for me to alternate a range of at least 10 and sometimes up to more than 30-40 I tend to wear, in sequence, over quite similar periods of time, in quite similar quantities, in a quite similar recurrent applications.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
The last time I truly had a signature scent would have been 25 years ago when I wore Drakkar Noir almost exclusively. Since then I've always owned at least a few fragrances and used more than one with regularity.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
No, not since I started collecting properly.
I always wear Versace Dreamer if I'm on a date but I just rotate my other fragrances for work / gym / weekends etc.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Used to have signature scent (Azzaro Chrome) till about 4 years ago, but now I just go around my relatively large collection.
But anytime I decide, I can go with just 10 to maximum 15 fragrances For years and years...
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
the only cologne i have been throw 3 100ml is hermes poivre samarcante.
i have about a ''colection'' of 10 botlles.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
not really. I started to build a collection and own mostly ones that I could wear any day. I have some favourites like Allure Homme Sport, Pure Havane, but I am just wearing them occassionally.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Too many great fragrances to wear only one.

Re: do you have a signature scent?
No... ( it used to be Dior Homme 5 y. ago , and untill then no )
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I'm currently trying (since I hope that would prevent me from buying too many fragrance). I might settle down with Cartier Declaration, Jardin Mediterranee or my current love Lalique Pour Homme. the last one actually might be the One
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
There are some fragrances that I wear more often than others but I've never been able to be committed to a single scent.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
No signature scents whatsoever but I've been reaching a lot for Dior Homme when it's cold outside and YSL L'Homme in warmer weather.

Re: do you have a signature scent?
I reach for Rocky Mountain Wood more than anything else. It smells amazing, great longetivity, and I have not smelled it on anyone else in the two years I have had it. It will be in my wardrobe for the next 60 years.

Re: do you have a signature scent?
I have 4 fragrances in my collection that I would regard as my signature scents. They are the ones I wear and enjoy the most. I often reach for one of the 4 when uncertain as to which fragrance I want to wear on any particular day.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Once I bought my second bottle, I no longer had a signature scent.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I personally don't buy into the "signature scent" idea. It implies that you are the only one wearing it. My written signature is the only "signature" I have. :)... just saying.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I don't really have a signature scent either, but the closest I have (one i reach for when I can't decide & usually wear two or three times a week) is Versace's The Dreamer. It took me some time with this one, but it's become my most comfortable scent and one that just seems to work for all occasions/seasons to me.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
My days of having a signature scent are gone. I have too many favorites, not to mention too many things I'm sampling. I find it hard to wear any particular scent more than once a week. That's no signature.
It cracks me up when I see people talk about having multiple signature scents. I think a lot of people don't understand what the term means.
That being said, I sometimes make an effort to match a certain scent to times when I'm with a specific person. If I wear GphII on a first date, I may keep wearing that scent each time I see her again. I like the idea of having a specific scent a woman can remember me by... but if we end up seriously dating, I'll abandon the one scent plan and vary it up a lot.
Also, I have scents for specific purposes. Aventus is NOT a dating scent for me. I get muuuuuch better feedback from women when I wear something else, but Aventus is an excellent work scent for meetings. If I'm meeting with a client, it's what I wear.
So... no... I don't have a signature scent. Not at all. But clients and dates probably think I do.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
No. Actually, it was hard to let go of the idea of a signature scent, but I have too many beautiful fragrances to pick just one or two. I'm sort of hoping that instead of associating me with one scent, people will just associate me with always smelling good :)

Re: do you have a signature scent?
No. My tastes change too frequently to have one.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I wear Lynn Harris' Vetiver most of the time. But I rarely wear anything at all. Occassionally an oud just to switch up
and feel transgressive. I'm quite pathetic really.

Re: do you have a signature scent?
life's too short to commit to one, so is a definite no and never will
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I guess I don't really have one signature scent but a few that I definitely wear more than others. Believe it or not, I've been wearing Kouros more than anything else since winter really set in.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I always like to consider Gucci Envy for men my signature scent, but it's hard to limit oneself to just particular one with such a collection. As things are, I haven't found other scent yet, besides Gucci Envy, that I'd would want to consider my signature.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I do not. Would not be boring?
-
I wore Égoïste exclusively throughout the late-90's.
All my friends from back then associate me with it.
And since Égoïste is still my most worn fragrance,
it's my signature scent.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I voted yes. But I rarely wear it; I keep it in an "ivory tower" and wear it exclusively to family gatherings.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Just can't do it. There's so many to enjoy.
However I had these as a signature scent at various times:
YSL Kouros, Paloma Picasso Minotaure, Shiseido Basala, and Egoiste.
If I were to choose a signature scent now, it would almost certainly be one of the classics like Pour un Homme de Caron, Dior Eau Sauvage, Vetiver de Guerlain, etc.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Yes. It is Kenzo pour homme. It is just wow for me. Drydown is heaven. If i had enough money i would order parfum extrait of it in some famous perfumers))).
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Bvlgari extreme, but in winter i tend to use Dior homme more
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Not right now, but I want one. (Anyone have a hoarded bottle of Norma Kamali Incense they want to sell me? That's my top candidate at the moment....)
I generally have one, but find that they lose their significance for me after five or six years of wear. I don't like wearing multiple scents; they linger in my clothes and smell like strangers in my closet, and I don't feel fully "myself".
Past scents include: Prescriptives Calyx (my early twenties), Gucci Rush for Men (late twenties), plain pure sandalwood essential oil (early thirties), Jo Malone Wild Fig and Cassis (most recent; tired of it only in late 2011).

Re: do you have a signature scent?
I wear Molecule 01 every single day. I layer it with other scents I wear if I want to enhance or lengthen the longevity of it. I like to spray Molecule 01 on my clothing because it smells SO CLEAN and the scent stays and stays. I can smell Moelcule 01 that got overs-prayed on neckties that I wore many many months ago. Thats SOLID.
However, I do not wear M01 exclusively. I almost always wear other things with it.
Others are right, life is too short and there are far too many new things to smell to commit to just one!

Re: do you have a signature scent?
I voted sort of. I use different stuff all the time, but Fahrenheit is the one I use most.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
Up until last year my signature scent was either Acqua Di Gio or Curve. Now I wear a different fragrance every day, so I don't have one anymore.
-
Re: do you have a signature scent?
I don't have a signature scent, but I do have one that I reach for most of the time.
