I agree with Darvant about this having a classical barber shop feel to it. Lime peel + barber shop + a little clean soap = Aromatic Lime Unlike any other Montale. I get good longevity on it. Unlike Darvant, I think this is masculine from beginning to end, and my wife agrees. Good for all seasons. For those that think most Montales smell too similar, give this one a try. 8/10

Very different from most Montale's releases, Aromatic Lime is some kind of metallic and citric smell. Very different, may not be a pleasure to everyone. Smells like Fougere Marines and Aoud Lime mixed. Deserves at least a try.

I disagree that this is a feminine scent. It's masculine with feminine overtones. On first application you get bitter notes of unripe citrus. After an hour it opens up to the characteristic tart 'lime' over a very deep herbal base that develops - becoming sweeter. Dries down to a soft and floral citrus. Sillage is low to medium. Although, The longevity is amazing. I was in and out of the office with a jacket, on a humid 35C day. I could still smell it by the end of the day (10hours+). This is a must-buy for me.

Don't be fooled by the first sniff, Aromatic Lime is basically a feminine fragrance. The beginning is herbal-citrusy and dark, with the predominance of bitter orange under my nose. This  one is the best part of the running smell, i can perceive the influence of spices, herbs and patchouli while i see the association with some aromatic barber-shop kind of classics. In this phase the smell is prevalently masculine and a bit exotic in the sense it reminds some historical charismatic classics epitome of great ages and valiant men. Passing the minutes the smoothness starts enveloping the elements and i begin inhaling a sort of honeyed musky saffron. The spicy feel as well as the influence of patchouli start fading while a sort of creamy smell of lime-orange takes finally the scene with its touch of potpourri temperament and may be with some floral notes hidden somewhere (ylang-ylang, jasmine?). A final cedarwood or sandalwood provide an hint of substance. At this point the smell, initially ostensibly masculine, reveals notable traces of femininity, swampiness and classicism in reminiscence of some olfactory milestones as some Fendi or Krizia,  Aromatics Elixir and Mitsouko more conservative and rooty. It must be more complex it doesn't appear while reading the few notes listed.

Come ON!! This is amazing. I am a big lover of Montale and must say that most of his fragrances, although listed unisex are decidedly feminine. Conversely, I find Lutens decidedly masculine regardless of gender delineation. This is one of the most masculineMontale's I've tried, but I love it. Deep dark limes hover lingeringly over a musky sandalwood base that goes deep and is long lasting. Semi-sweet, earthy and rich. Just keeps getting better and better. Anyone who objects to the $175.00/100ml tag should check out www.theperfumeshoppe.com where it is sold for $120.00/100ml. and $80.00/50 ml. I'm anxiously awaiting mine now, can't wait to place it amongst my Aoud Queen Rose (WOW), Patchouli Leaves (YUM), Oriental Flowers (OMG) and Ta'if Rose (Discontinued. . . .SOB). I just noticed I'm the lone female voice here, perhaps body chemistry plays a large role in this one, because on me it's just stunning, has great sillage and phenomenal lasting power. Come on ladies, take a chance!

I quite like the sparkly opening, a different take on citrus. Citrus that's light on citric, it has more of an apple or pear feel to it than lime. Nice light woody feel to it throughout. Though I enjoy Aromatic Lime it's a little weak in the sillage department and it's price guarantees a non-purchase. Lasts most of the day but too close to my skin for anyone else to know I'm wearing it.

Aromatic? Sure. Lime? Well, not the way I would ever want to smell it. This reminds me of a horrible caricature of Penhaligon's Douro. It is stuffy to start with and the dry down reminds me of stagnant water. Near the worst Montale's I have tried to date.

A bit of a disapointment. I was hoping for something tart and sour, but instead its just really fresh bright green scent. Its smells soapy, shampoo-like. Citrusy, herbaceous, slightly woody. I swear I smell a hint of some flower, as well. Overall, like in many other Montale scents as well, I don`t find the note list / pyramid particularly accurate at all.

It is Montales take on traditional Cologne theme. Unisex, but clearly more masculine to my nose.
Well made, but also generic and quite boring.

Smells just like the soap my grandmother used to use. Not really "citrusy" at all - if it is lime, I have to agree it's the skin. Reasonably pleasant and inoffensive, but emphatically not worth the price.
