This is the only decent scent under the Lynx brand. Believe me. I've tried most of them. That's why it still out sells all the other versions after 18 years on the market. I have this on my everday wear rotation. It would be a sad day if Unilever ever decided to discontinue this.

A harsh synthetic-smelling scent. I can pick notes of vanilla and musk, but they are not done in a nice way. Sillage and projection are average. Possibly a good entry-level cologne for a teenage male, but seriously uncool for grown-ups. Expect hipsters to start wearing this scent in the near future.

Another watery-musky-vanillic smell with liquid lavender and smooth and soapy elements particularly synthetic and cheap.

I have to admit I really like this Axe fragrance. I only had several body sprays of this one (didn't find more concentrated versions) and I used to wear it a lot when I was (very) young. Unfortunetly, I have some bad memories with this one. I didn't overdo it, but I have smelled several people who seemed to spray half a can of Africa and other Axe scents and the stench was horrible. These memories have stopped me from buying any more Axe products. The smell strongly reminds me of Le Male, which was released the same year. I don't find it legendary, but it is good, if you don't spray like crazy. Africa/Kilo is one of the strongest deodorants/body sprays. I seriously recommend you to go easy on it. It has tons of vanilla and spicy woods. I remember it had some spearmint in it too. I really don't like mint in perfumes, so this is a downside for me. Longevity is fantastic, especially for a deodorant. I don't remember having any longevity problems with this one. The projection is great too. Be sure people feel your scent. They may even compliment and think you have Le Male on lol. I remember I didn't tell people I have Axe on. Yes, I lies. I used to tell whoever asked me what scent do I have on that I had Le Male, and they believed, lol, because of the strong similarity. Rating: Smell: 8 - really surprizing for this price Longevity: 9 - I can't ask more from a deodorant/body spray Projection: 9 - same here Originality meter: 7 units/10 not fantastic but still very good for it's price Overall: 8 pretty damn great; the best Axe and the only good Axe

Axe/Link is basicly, a line of forgettable, unremarkable, cheap miserable "fragrances" that are sold in the same place from where you buy your food. Sorry, but that is the truth.
What is this ? Another Le Male immitation ? Aaah ! Why does Axe always try to immitate something instead of creating something new ? Strange !
But wait ! This smells good too, and like the 1990's ! I am just too afraid to admit that I like this Axe. You can actually fool people in the fact that you are wearing Le Male. This is really funny, because they believe it.
Axe fragrances are really simmilar, so please read my axe Dark Temptation review for more details. I am not in the mood today to write that again.
This has everything a good fragrance needs: good longevity, great projection, sillage, and even some wearability. It is also one of the greatest cheap fragrance ever created. This gets also my award for Price/Quality.

Ratings:
Smell: 8 (good, energetic and rich smell with a subtle cheap vibe)
Longevity: 8 (the best longevity from Axe)
Projection: 8 (good projection, but not as good as Le Male)
Wearability: 7.5 (many basenoters avoid this, because it is cheap)
Compliments: 7.5 (for the funny situations where you fool people)
Price/Quality: 9.5 (very few scents beat this)
Final Rating: 8 => thumbs up !

A very vanilla/sweet scent that has seriously stood the test of time. Lynx are renowned for discontinuing their scents if they feel they have run their course, and the fact Africa (Kilo in the USA) is still going strong (since 1995) suggests it's popularity is still as high today as it was in the 90s.

This scent should serve as an example to the company that the demand for the older scents are currently very high, with the fact that Africa is STILL the biggest selling Lynx variant in the UK despite the numerous newer scents released. Newer scents have come and gone and Africa still defies the odds and remains!

For some odd reson, i guess this one smjells like the late nineties to me. It's amazing how many costly and not at all mass-market woody notes went into this one. The main recipe used here- a cocktail of rich, sensual, exotic woods- seems to have worked perfectly here, creating a virile, energetic, warm, lush creation that doesn't reveal how affordable it is.

My nose isn't that much sensible as of real fragrance fans, but to me Axe Africa is very similar to Gaultier Le Male or Rochas Man, with heavy vanilla aroma. It's one of my favourite mass-market deodorants, with another Axe, Phoenix.

Well, its 2007, and today when I was at the supermarket, I was in the personal hygiene aisle seeking out a change in deoderant. I after persuing various brands, I moved on to Lynx...The memories came flooding back...god aweful memories...

That last time I recall ever thinking about Lynx deoderants was somewhere around 2000/2001.

Lynx, as another basenoter here said, defined the end of the nineties. I recall with remarkable clarity the aweful, cheap stench that followed a group of teenaged males everywhere they went at the end of the nineties, smelling of industrial fumes. This one, Africa, upon revisiting, is somewhat different. Whilst unmistably synthetic smelling, it exudes this sweet, spicey, woody, vanillic auror, perfumey in nature. Probably the most acceptable Axe/Lynx offering available. The rest smell like cheap crap. And are unmistakably "of" the late ninties...
