Very masculine. A hint of that classic after shave smell. It's got a nice balance of sweet and warm, making it both mature but still energetic, and the hint of aquatic gives it a modern twist. Del Mar is everyday wear for the mature man, or occassional wear for the younger man in a mature setting. It's longevity and sillage are both pretty decent but as long as you don't drown yourself in it it's mild enough for any situation where you want to smell nice without offending anyone.

Del Mar Baldessarini is meant to evoke the more mature man exploring the worlds oceans and holiday destinations. Does it deliver on that? The answer in mind is sort of. Despite the oceans reference, its not at all what I would call an aquatic style of fragrance (a good thing in my opinion far too many of these out there already!). Its still fresh, but slightly woody and a little bit spicy. It definitely feels more mature than say your run of the mill Calvin Klein, but its not old smelling at all. I feel that as the different Del Mar Editions were released in subsequent years, the Baldessarini line got better at evoking the sort of image they had originally intended with this release. Dont get me wrong, I really like this, but I will probably not re-purchase this over Seychelles or Marbella editions. Sillage and longevity are average. For what its worth my personal order of preference for the Del Mar line goes: 1. Del Mar Seychelles 5/5 2. Del Mar Marbella 4/5 3. Del Mar Caribbean 3.5/5 4. Del Mar Baldessarini 3/5

Chrome???? Did anybody say Chrome????? The color of the juice reminds me of Chrome, the bottle reminds me of Chrome, is this just a copy of Chrome? If it is, actually is an improvement over Chrome. More masculine, better sillage and logevity than Chrome, and in few words: This is another aquatic, but not "just another aquatic", this has better quality and smells better than the rest of the aquatics there in the market.

Initial notes are sandalwood, fruit, salty ocean air, and rather dry. My initial impression is very, very similar to Dunhill Pure. Initially more dry, then as it dries it becomes much more sweet - sweeter even than Pure. It may take some getting used to; it's very sweet, I hate to say it, but dries down like pink bubblegum. I see it as duplicative of the aforementioned fragrance in my wardrobe. In fact, by contrast, the Dunhill fragrance (I have Del Mar Baldessarini on one wrist, and Dunhill Pure on the other right now) although not among my favorites, is a bit more herbal, cool, manageably sweet. Del Mar is a narrow neutral, hovering just above negative, because it may be a fun, irreverent fragrance for a day out with the kids. I wouldn't want to smell like this around other adults, certainly not at work. Update - cloying, forgettable. Rejected from my wardrobe.

Awesome bottle. The end. No, seriously. What to say about Del Mar. Well.. having tried the original Baldessarini, and owning Ambre, I find myself wondering wtf. Here we have the Baldessarini brand from Hugo; it's less sythetic, it's more sophisticated, and it had a highly credible image in my mind after having tried both the others. Baldessarini is like the niche part of Hugo Boss, but Del Mar is totally Hugo Boss. It's cheap smelling, it's synthetic smelling, it lacks any originality. Does it smell bad? No. In fact, few fragrances actually smell "bad" to my nose. Del Mar doesn't smell bad, but it's not even worth sampling, take my word for it.

Casual, mature, sophisticated. Scent that emulates sea, coast, sea shells. I see many negative reviews here. Mayhaps most of reviewers were would prefer Marbella edition of the scent, wich I myself consider an upgrade of this one.

I found this to be a totally inoffensive but ultimately boring fragrance, with lamentable sillage and suspect longevity to boot. One of its few redeeming features is its beautifully heavy lead crystal-like bottle, which by the way might also be deemed pretentious given the averageness of the scent inside. Not recommended.
