Believe is such an amazingly unique fragrance. It is one of those scents that grow on you, the more you wear it the more you love it. When I first tried Believe I hated it. Even when I bought it, it wasn't a favourite. I thought it smelt far too masculine, spicy and strong, with the patchouli giving me some serious headaches. Almost a year on, Believe has surpassed the other Britney fragrances in my collection and has become one of my favourite fragrance choices for Spring and Summer. Believe is more spicy than it is sweet. If you want the sugary goodness from Fantasy, the sweet syrupy fruits in Midnight Fantasy or the light, girlish florals from Curious, then this isn't for you. Britney has taken a much more mature approach towards this scent. My nose is met with a delightful blend of tropical fruits in the opening which is neither synthetic, overly sweet or nauseatingly fruity. The drydown is divine with an interesting blend of lime blossom, honeysuckle, amber and patchouli which gives this scent raw sex-appeal. In some ways Believe smells dirty, in a sexual kind of way. It's spicy, sensual, woodsy and intriguing. I find that I receive compliments mostly from men when I wear this scent. People who found her other fragrances too sweet, too childish or too mainstream really should give Believe a try.

I bought this unsniffed because others had compared it to Angel and it was quite a bardain. I honestly didn't expect much from it, but I'm really glad I picked it up! It is like a fresh, fruity version of Angel with a more youthful spirit. I absolutely love the peppery opening notes followed by the sweet guava and melon notes. Definitely looking forward to wearing this in the spring...and I love the bottle! Jan 08 2009

I didn't like this fragrance. It's citrus-y and too strong, that is what I thought in the beginning. After the drydown, I also didn't like it. I don't know how to explain it.. but it was just a bad smell (perhaps syntheticly too strong?) But now (it's been three, four days since I sprayed it on the tester strip, the faint smell isn't that bad). I'm not sure I can wait that long for the drydown though.

note: I only smelt this fragrance from a tester strip so I cannot talk about the longevity of the product and the chemistry with my skin.

This smells so good I can smell alot of guava and something sweet in the dry down perhaps the pink pralines? I am not sure but this has good staying power and I would repurchase.P.S. the lotion is even better it is so strong you don't even really need the perfume.

When I tested this out in the department store, I really liked it and thought it smelt fresh and fruity. It was also a lot less expensive than the other fragrances on the shelf. However, after a few days I grew tired of it. The scent made me feel a bit queezy. It was a bit like pouring fruity shampoo everywhere. I just didn't like the smell. When I tried it in the department store, I sprayed it into the air inside of onto my wrist which made the fragrance seem lighter and fresher than it was.

I think it's a good scent but it's not for me.

I liked this fragrance when I tested it at the drugstore, but am finding that it doesn't last well on me. I get none of the patchouli the rest of the reviewers mention...which is good, because I frankly hate patchouli. This one just smells very green to me...not much else to it. I like it for a change, but it won't stay in my bathroom when this bottle is gone.

I tested this in a department store and thought it was a lot nicer than the other Britney scents, and brought it online on a whim when I saw it cut price. This is just Fruit, Fruit, Fruit to me, and once it gets to the dry down its pretty much gone on my skin, so i never get to the patchouli part. It's nice enough in the beginning though, very much like the Escada fruit-bomb scents, but lacking...something. The body lotion that came with it though is gorgous and has a really lovely patchouli/fruity scent that stays on my body and clothes for ages.

On Application This fragrance smells strongly of quite tangy, and sweet guava (which adds nice variedness to the whole redolence of it) at first, but at the same time the delicate nuances of tangerine are not noticeable. Later, among the mid notes there is a sweet and piquant aura (must be the honeysuckle intertwined with the linden blossom which again causes some pleasant variedness) that lingers for the middle note duration (by the way, this is an eau de parfum). After the bottom notes have been dectectable for a few minutes, I noticed an almost smokey woody scent, the name of which I'm not sure, but I liked it combined whith the total scent. To me the bottom notes didn't smell of patchouli, amber or pink pralines.

Overall this fragrance is NOT flatly and cloyingly sweet, and the scent is very well mixed so that it almost smells like a totally new aroma (except for the pungent guava), which I like very much.
