Pros: The best green leather musk out there

Cons: The pepper note

This is the best green leathery musk fragrance out there. Its clean. The leather is not powdery or bitter like in some fragrances. This deserves more attention and is a hidden gem. I would award 5/5 stars, but I gave 4/5 due to the pepper note that is not needed in this fragrance. It is very linear, in that you're going to be taken through stages of dry down. I like how it is. It shows what its all about from the beginning. Its very smooth and addictive. A must have if you love smooth, green, and leathery fragrances!

I must admit I bought this (without even having ever heard of Burberry) because it was on sale. It was 50 ml for less than 20 euros. I never looked back. It is amazing... it's dominant pepper notes may trouble some people (which I understand, since it's very strong) but I happen to love it. When I finished the bottle, I had to get another one immediately. It's amazing.

whoever created this stuff did a horrible job IMO. I got a bottle in 2010 as a gift and I cant even bring myself to wear it. Bottle is prob 97% full. My opinion: The pepper was wayyy too overpowering and its what totally made me not like this scent. It gives me a headache after about 10 minutes. Whoever described the peppery smell as "delivered straight to the nose via shotgun shell" hit the nail right on the head. Only one time did I decide Id wear it to work & give it a try. I recieved feedback instantly. People were asking "whats that smell?" making "stink-faces" and my boss went as far as to say it smelled like bugspray. lmfao And she's right now that I think about it. Another person in my family says it smells like old man cologne. I can take a hint... this stuff sucks.

Smells like a cruder version of the superb HeWood. It's got violets, black pepper and cedar and not much else. Leather & bourbon? Sadly no, unless you're smelling this in grampa's study sat in an easy chair. Still, it works on cold days when you're not too inclined for something too complex. 6.5/10

I really like it except for the short period of time it lasts. It reminds me of a light version of vetiver extraordinaire by Dominique Ropion. Not sure what the technical term for that fresh cut wood smell is but I've had several women ask, "have you been chopping wood". Whomever thinks this is a feminine scent, wow is all I can say. What the hell kind of women do you hang around with? I got this for a great price $20 for 3.4 edt, so not concerned about having to spray it often.

My nose likes Leather.. i liked it in a mall.. and thought its for me.. subtle, macho, foggy perfume. Bought 100ml top and middle tones last for very few minutes. overall LONGEVITY very very poor. PROJECTION poor Gives me headache, terrible HEADACHE. sometimes i can't even work at office after applying it. stopped wearing it before driving. Physically it's not for me. More important it doesn't appeal to my wife but one or two lady colleagues and friends ;). though they commented within 10-20 minutes of spraying. Longevity: 2 hrs Projection: 7/10 for 1st 10 mins then 2/10

I can see it got its share of bashing here but I completely love this scent! It is so youthfull and free. Zesty scent for summer evenings and a casual style, definitely a scent that will get noticed. Pepper is strong in the inital burst but quickly settles down to a nice spicy, aromatic and a tad bit woody scent. Longevity and projection are outstanding! Just love it!

I was a little confused at first when I smelt The Beat for Men. I was certain that I'd accidently sprayed a female fragrance instead. The scent was so sweet, with a touch of spice, woods and citrus. I now know that I hadn't been mistaken. The Beat for Men is not strictly masculine, I would definitely recommend this fragrance to both men and women. I get a lot of sweet, spicy woods, and I like it, a lot. Like Kevin from the NST blog mentioned, both the female and male versions of The Beat are supposed to represent the 60's era of Rock n' Roll. Well I don't get the booziness or the wildness, however I get a smooth, somewhat delicious scent, that is wonderful for a night out on the town. So many reviewers are saying that this fragrance is too harsh and too peppery, I find this fragrance more spicy than peppery. Perhaps it is just the way my nose perceives this fragrance. I also get a lot of violet and sweet, juicy fruits. The sillage of this fragrance is very strong, and the lasting power almost equally as powerful. I have come to the conclusion that The Beat for Men is a love it or hate it scent. Personally, I really like it.

Pepper, Lavender, Linear... Strong. 5-6 hrs average longevity. Cheap and plentiful right now. I don't get any leather at all. Strongest pepper scent I have tried. For me, not everyday wear.
