GORGEOUS fragrance. There has to be tobacco in this though it's not listed. A sweet, mellow tobacco scent that develops on your skin. Really great!

Ok frag for everyday. A bit feminine for me, but the price is right. 2-4 hr life. Nice bright scent. Good projection. Average boozy, tobacco-ish scent. I layer with Tommy Bahama for the crisp bright side TB lacks.

Cedar is the knight from the get go with of this fragrance, with a strong tobacco leaf as its squire. A lot of spiciness, probably from the bay leaf, but I could swear there are some other spices in the mix. Very little citrus that makes an early exit and some sweetnes, maybe the fruit, maybe the amber, but Cedar and Tobacco leaf are the predominat notes. Very masculine, it has decent sillage and longevity. A winner in my book.

A slightly fruitier version of Aramis Havana or Cuba Red. I don't get "cigar" at all from this, perhaps something along the lines of an unsmoked Swisher Sweet with less tobacco, less cherry, more lavender. I can't give it a positive rating with a name like "Cigar," I would call the name inaccurate.

I've owned Cigar for a number of years and it's one of the few for which I own a backup bottle. This stuff is so inexpensive that multiple bottles are almost a must. As to the fragrance, this one plays way above its station. This is the 8th grader dunking on the star senior. One may expect a cheap, wimpy mess based on the price and Marshall's shelf location. Don't be fooled. Cigar is a very well done scent. For those looking for a tobacco-leather accord, check this one out. Like Zino, Egoiste, Spanish Leather by Truefitt & Hill or Burberry London? You'll probably enjoy Cigar. Great longevity and it gets better as it mellows. I wouldn't say it has especially complex development, though.

Seems to have a lot of cedar. While I think they were aiming for an unsmoked cigar smell it is way too sweet almost like pipe tobacco. Smells like the inside of a humidor to a degree IMHO but a tad too sweet. I'd liken it more to dry smelling pipe tobacco. I like pipe tobacco's smell so this to me is appealing however to others it is anyone's guess and hence the neutral.

I don`t know why I bought this at the first place. Not my style. And I dropped it, of course I don`t mean to, it still half full. Never regret it though. No longevity, and in tropical weather, it smell too musky.

I'm totally in agreement with Cologneist on this one. Cigar is an excellent tobacco fragrance. I don't find it to be synthetic smelling at all. The combination of cedar, amber and patchouli create an accord that smells quite natural to me, and really does replicate the dry sweetness of the inside of a cigar humidors, with the cigars in it.

Many tobacco fragrances either smell musty or overly sweet and syrupy. Cigar is neither. I'm impressed with how Cigar is both sweet AND dry, so it doesn't sink like a rock, like so many oriental fragrances do.

Cigar is a true bargain, and it smells a hell of a lot more masculine than a lot of the shlock in Macys these days. I can't wait to try Cigar Commander!

MY RATING: 8/10

I was surprised to come across Cigar at a domestic airport kiosk and, of course, bought it cheap on the spot.

While Santa Maria Novella's Acqua di Cuba is one of the most authentic tobacco frags i know, and while it smells like cigars in their presentation box, Remy Latour's Cigar smells like cigar smoke in a club filled with cigar-smoking BaseNoters, lovely smells and all.

Cigar goes on with a slightly screechy blast of aromachemicals (its not expensive, so what could i expect?) but immediately calms down and begins to exhibit what it was meant to showcase: a very nice cigar accord, garnished with mild floral notes as well as detectable sandalwood plus substantial, cigar-box cedar. To me, this is a beautiful masculine and evocative scent. Cigar smells like a cigar box which has contained well cured unrapped cigars for quite a while. I smell mainly cigars and cedarwood. A short walk in the blazing heat (a usual part of my tests) works olfactory wonders! It tells me what it will be like walking through a cigar rolling shop with nice-smelling workers, the florals blooming beautifully, sweetening the experience.

Cigar is one very long lasting (12+ hours) scent, with moderate yet substantial sillage. People will not choke near a Cigar wearer but, believe me, (mostly positive) questions will be asked.

Thumbs way up!

I see a lot of negative reviews for this one, and I don't understand why. Cigar is a unique scent. It can be intimidating when you first put it on, but that quickly mellows out into well.. a cigar like scent. Spicy to kind of sweet in about a minute.

Cigar is one of those fragrances that you have to wear on your skin or clothing before judging, because it changes significantly. It smells completely different in the bottle compared to on your skin. Most of the spicy aroma gets lost once it touches a surface, and it actually smells delicious.

I can't even think of anything to compare this one too.. A little bit like the Dreamer but far less synthetic. Perhaps Cuba Red, but much less spicy. Cuba Red attempts to capture the "cigar" and fails almost miserably, while Cigar actually does capture it, both in smell and feel. Many reviews say this smells cheap and synthetic, I'm definitely gonna disagree with that. Cheap, really? When I smell cigars, I think anything but cheap, I think elegance, I think champagne, mansions and velor robes -- Back on topic though. Smelling it and wearing it are two different things. This is a great stand out fragrance. In fact.. it was such a good seller that Remy Latour (a non massive production fragrance company or niche) decided to make a flanker called Cigar Commander which I have yet to try. Now I'm no expert.. but typically when a cologne makes a follow up.. it's because the previous one was a big seller.

Cigar is long lasting, with a nice dry down that redeems itself from what some of you find to be "cheap and synthetic" in the bottle. Try this one on your skin before buying it, it actually smells like its name "Cigar"

All in all I give this one a B-
