L'Imperatrice is delightfully fruity, watery and fresh. The watermelon and kiwi fruit notes go well together and in some ways I enjoy this lack of citrus. I am reminded of sorbet when I smell this fragrance, it has quite a sweet touch which is both smooth and desirable. Although sweet, L'Imperatrice is not synthetic. This smells expensive. I am rather surprised that this is unisex, I found the top notes to be extremely feminine. However, in the base notes I sense a hint of masculinity. The sweetness tends to mellow and the kiwi note becomes stronger and much more tart. This tarty kiwi fruit and musk blend I don't enjoy on myself, however I could see it working well on a man. The lasting power is so-so, with the sillage being quite intimate. I think it would be risky to buy this for a man if you weren't sure if he likes sweet scents. However, in the case of women, I think a majority of their buyers will be the fairer sex.

Very fresh and bright smelling. It reminds me a lot of a Bath & Body Works smell, maybe Cucumber Melon. There was mention that it smelled like a Garnier Fructis shampoo. I agree. Smells like something I would lather into my hair. I think this would be a great spring/summer fragrance as it is light and fruity smelling and would fit well on a sunny day at the beach.

I love this fragrance. It smells sooo good. I sprayed it on my knit sweater wrist area. The next day I wore that same sweater to smell it again. This is an instant smell fantastic, pick-me-up scent. It did well with my body chemistry. I love this perfume!

Fun, young (juvenile), ALMOST (can imagine that a lot of people would disagree with this) overbearingly sweet fruity (melon) floral. Delicious, basically. Seems too bright/loud for daywear, but maybe in the summer. Easily the favorite of the series, which isn't saying a whole lot but still, there are worse ways to smell.

I really wanted to like this D&G range, but so far they have all let me down (I've tried three of them). This one's definitely on the fruity side of fruity floral. The kiwi and watermelon were really dominant. I thought it smelled really peach-y at first but it's not a listed ingredient. With these types of girly, fruity frags I find it really difficult to separate the different fruits, it just becomes a sweet, overpowering mess... In the middle I got some white florals (lilies? Freesia?) and waterlily or something softly aquatic, with a faint whiff of musk. Inoffensive and uninteresting.

I must say, I just ADORE this stuff! Ok, I like smelling like a fruity blamange! Basically that is it, fruity custardyness and I just love it!

Fruit, fruit, and more fruit. Its not strongly sweet, but still about the only notes that come through for me is fruit. I certainly can smell the kiwi, I dont get a tart smell as would come from a rhubarb note. Theres melon in there. There must be some florals in there because I get an identifiable floral texture that does not provide for me an identifiable floral note. This texture is about the only thing that keeps me from washing off the abundant fruity notes.

Toward the end of the fragrance, I do not find a sandalwood note, but I do get a sour accord that smells a bit like grapefruit. In all, 3 LImpératrice is not very interesting.

Not bad if you like citrusy-fruity fragrances. It's really juicy on the opening. Dries down to a woodsy grapefruit. A little sour/bitter at the end. Not the worst of the bunch but not something I'd go ga-ga for but I do enjoy the scent.

Wow. Some of the previous reviews were really harsh! D&G L'Imperatrice 3 is certainly a surprising scent which may have caused the terrible reactions. Looking at the simple sophisticated bottle and light pink/lavender liquid inside I thought it would be a very grown up scent. On the contrary, 3 is like the little rebellious sister of the Dolce and Gabbana bunch. I would not call it a complex or extremely impressive fragrance but it is fun. 3 is a very girly fragrance (the fact that it may have been marketed to men is ridiculous to me) because of the fruitiness of it. It really reminds me of a shampoo, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I think it smells like shampoo because of the way that all of the notes combine into one single fruity scent which is not muddled, making it smell clean and refreshing. This scent is very bright and almost sharp because of how strong the kiwi and grapefruit notes are. For all of these reasons, this scent might not appeal to everyone, especially people who only love powdery or woodsy orientals. But for these same reasons this may be a great scent for girls not ready to dive into the world of Chanel or Versace but ready to step back from the Escadas and body spritzes in their bathrooms to try something new. It is also a wonderful scent for people who need a perfume that is cheery and energizing. It is currently the dead of winter in my hometown and i really needed a spritz of something that would remind me of the summer and wake me up. 3 did just that, it reminded me of the sunny days of summer while still being a rather wearable fragrance for the winter time.
