When I first sprayed Delices I thought, "Yum!" It was different, deep, rich and delicious. For once, the bottle matched the scent; an intense, red and juicy cherry. Like eating glazed cherries or chomping into a toffee apple, this fragrance gives you that same type of joy. When I stepped out into the Wintery conditions outside of the store, this fragrance really started to blossom. The scent was so invigorating and uplifting, it would be impossible to have a bad day when wearing Delices. I was almost convinced that I would be adding this fragrance to my wishlist, when I went to smell my wrist again and I was utterly disappointed. Delices had dried down to what could only be described as the scent of plasticine on my skin. I'm pretty sure it's the tonka bean note that doesn't exactly agree with my chemistry at the best of times. It was such a shame seeming that I had been enjoying the fragrance right up until that point. I can only advise that before buying you should wait it out just to make sure your chemistry suits this fragrance. Otherwise, this is a fabulous perfume with fantastic lasting power.

I found this to be very strong, too sweet, and cloying when initially sprayed. But once I make it past the top notes, I'm in heaven! Definitely gourmand with subtle cherry and vanilla notes. I never use this when I'm about to leave the house...I only wear it out after the dry-down begins.

The first blast of Sour Cherries and in a couple of minutes it dries down to a scent of milky Musk and Vanilla. this has to be the one of the most unsual perfumes this and Jean Paul Gautier MA Dame in my collection. this frangrance is not for Everybody.

This is a thin, fruity composition that seems to have no direction. The initial blast of cherry reminds me of those impossibly sweet liquers that if not consumed in extreme moderation yield epic hangovers. Understanding full well that there is supposed to be amber and tonka in the base, I held out, it just never developed on me. The lack of staying power and sillage are for once a comfort as this could have been a trigger for a monumental migrain. Luckily, the sticky cherry/violet opening pops like a firecracker then disappears on my skin leaving no trace or any clear indication that fragrance had been applied at all. Certainly, this would not ever be something I would purchase, In my opinion, Cartier should concentrate on their jewelry which I would certainly purchase had I married for money and not love.

To quote the anonymous, cherry-skinned reviewer - one man's heaven is another man's hell...and Delices is heaven on my bod. Most frags develop very quickly on me and this is one. So the quick rush of high voltage fizzy sweet swiftly settles into cherried flowers with a well behaved vanilla and musk base. Good longevity and sillage. Just LUV it.

Edit: This review is for the Parfum - have no experience of the EDT.

The tiniest spray of this on a blotter made my husband yelp in pain from clear across the room. Up close it was even worse. It reminded me of nothing other than that vile glucose solution they make you drink when you're having your blood sugar tested, with a nauseating artificial cherry-berry flavoring added just so you can manage to choke it down. (And to think they felt compelled to make an "Eau Fruitee" version of this-- as if this wasn't enough!) Oh, so awful.

I'm reading these other reviews and feeling like I had a completely different experience with my chemistry. Other than the initial blast, which is a bit synthetic, I smell very little of the cherries on my skin. For me, what is the strongest is the orange blossoms, which is one of my favorite scents on the planet. This is one of the only fragrances that truly highlights orange blossom on my skin. It is really sweet and I usually prefer the spicy to the sweet, but this one has enough of a spicy and mellow dry down to suit me just fine. On a card, I never would have purchased this, but on my skin...I have to get a bottle. I can't stop sniffing my wrist.

OMG! I love this perfume, it is sweet and lucious at the same time. When I wear it, it makes me feels delectable. Even though it is very sweet, it always seemed very crisp not too rich. I don;t like sweet frarances because they remind me of chocolate cake when you eat too much its like you are overindulged...too sweet it becomes bitter. I kept waiting for this point in Delices but it was always crispy sweet. I loved it. Simply irresistible

The deep cherry on top is young & delish but I couldn't get past the musky older basenote. Bottle is really lovely though the scent is schizophenic but i'd say 50--ish women should love it for the holidays.

I loved this in the store, and the bottle just added to my delight. Once home it went unused because I made the mistake of reading Luca and Tania's review, where they refer to the Delices EdT as 'vile fruity.' As a newbie to the world of fragrance, I decided I must be wrong, and couldn't possibly like this 'fruity vile' (as they called the perfume). I took one sniff and was subsequently and irrationally biased against my purchase! Okay, now back to the fragrance which I decided to re-try, and I DO like it. Yes it's sweet--I like sweet! Yes it's a bit heavy handed, but the excess is great for this time of year. And there is a hint of booze (kirsch others have mentioned) which I'm quite partial to. After the initial blast of candied FRUIT the subsequent development is quite nice. Warmly sweet, slightly vanillic, a hint of liqueur, and VERY pretty I've re-found the love. Now WHY did I sell my bottle?! :)
