Although I ultimately will give this one a "no thanks" for my wardrobe, I will give it a neutral rating. It goes on over-the-top strong, but settles down into a candyish floral that's only a little too sweet for my liking.

For all the things that shouldn't work, I really didn't mind this one at all. The watermelon bubble gum smell didn't even give rise to much other than a wry smile. And that is just about where I place this one - a fun take on Angel's patchouli bomb!! Yes, there is an aquatic vibe to this (it's summer and picnics and watermelon after all!!!), and that thins this one down a bit, but it was not really a fresh feel. This is still a substantial fragrance - I could smell it on my clothes for a week. Fun enough.

Vanilla + aquatic is an odd mix. The vanilla burns off a bit and one is faced with a rubbery watery pongy scent. I don't find this attractive. But wait, what am I thinking? Of course, everyone wants to smell like a soggy sugar cookie left in a sports locker with old sneakers and damp bathing suits. Yum.

very nice bottle for this fragrance, I dont like this as much as Rose Angel, but like alot of Thierry Mugler fragrances, is long lasting.

this is an interesting smell.

Once I got over the overwhelming watermelon in the opening, and that took a looong time, I found this to be an ok younger relative of Angel. I've never seen the pyramid for Eau de Star, but I recognize the feel of it and some notes from Angel.

The watermelon in the top is really obnoxious though, and it takes a very long time to dry down. In fact, I don't think it ever goes away, I suspect my nose just got used to it. On the plus side, the scent mellows to a pleasant level just when I think my nose is about to go numb.

This fragrance is bold, stylish, harsh, cold, and bitter, with a little bit of sweet way deep underneath. It has very rough edges, which I suppose is why it's called star, to reflect something pointy. I'm kidding, of course. It lasts a long time on me. This is basically a loud and rude version of Angel. I find aquatics repellant, and I did not recognise this as one, but didn't like it as much as my non-aqua faves. I assume that's the note that disagrees with me. I wear it a lot, anyway. I can't get it out of my head, if you know what I mean.

I think this stuff is fab. The watermelon is balanced by a nice peppery accord giving it an immediate yin-yang appeal. The aquatic accord gives it a fresh, clean feel. Then, there is just enough herbal- patchouli?- to make it zing. as if that weren't enough, there is a pleasant, warm drydown with a hint of powder for comfort. Not terribly complicated but takes you on a nice journey of well-balanced contrasts.

I love and admire Angel and Rose Angel but can wear them only seldom because they wear ME. Y'all know exactly what I mean. But Eau de Star is a cool and gentle variation of the Angel riff and I find it eminently wearable. I like it better than Innocent, which developed a harsh, synthetic note on my skin. I get compliments on Eau de Star but I don't overwhelm anyone with it, which is often the case with Angel. The only negative is that, being light, it doesn't last nearly as long as Angel, about 3-4 hours (versus 300). But in summer, that's not a big problem. Overall I'm really pleased to find a member of the Angel family I can happily wear to work! Also, melon/cucumber haters, be not afraid, (I'm one of you)- the note, is it Calone? is not heavy, but effervescent and sparkly.

I am a huge Angel fan, and this star is my favorite summer fragrance. The watermelon and patchouli top notes, are comfortable childhood memories and really lift my mood. It lasts forever, too. the dry down is summer rain and hot asphalt. Captures summer in a bottle.

You've got it QUARRY, this one's on a quest for sales. I imagine the concept came about something like this: "Hey, since Angel was such a big seller, and the Angel sequels 'innocent' and 'garden of stars' also sold well, why not take the dollar generating base of Angel and throw a fresh spin on it...yeah, that's it...another version of the basic Angel...

Well, that is pretty much my impression of this very boring, predictable yet crappy offering. Oh, and by the way, the bottle is a re-run as well. Spare me.
