JESSICA MCCLINTOCK reminds me of barbie dolls. Not the sort of perfume which curvaceous Barbie herself might donwouldn't she really prefer ANGEL?but the sort of fragrance which little girls who play with Barbies might wear. Little girls being groomed by their housewife mothers to become good housewives one day. They also have Easy Bake Ovens and little bottles of nail polish, like the toddler daughters of a former colleague of mine. He brought them to work with him one day (his wife must have had an appointment at the beauty parlor), and I was a bit taken aback that these little girls, barely able to talk, had chipped polish on their tiny little fingernails. Small wonder that nearly half a century after the ratification of the Equal Pay Act of 1963, women in this country still earn only 77 cents on the dollar paid to an equally qualified man for performing the very same work. But I digress... The flowers here smell more like lilacs than anything else to me, but all in all, this composition strikes me as quite juvenile and not romantic at all. The manufacturer's card boasts that this perfume is "the fragrance that whispers romance...," but to me it just whispers: "Shut up and go clean your room!"

For a long time this was my June " perfume of the month ". The lily-of-the-valley brings to my mind white bridal gowns ( which of course is what Jessica McClintock is famous for), and it is a nice light scent for the summer. Although it will never rank amoung the best, it is still a good fragrance.

A very pleasing lily fragrance, not the best on the market (I would recommend Taylor of London's) but a nice choice nonetheless. A few strong spritzes of this in the morning will only last about a half day; be prepared to reapply if necessary.

I used to love this Lily of the Valley floral and went through several bottles in the late eighties/early nineties. I did receive many compliments when I wore it. Even though I am still very fond of LotV scents I could never wear this one now...guess I have outgrown it.

This was my very first fragrance. I cannot seem to find it's match. I smelled it on my friend in h.s. and not knowing what else to ask for Christmas as a teenager- I asked for Jessica McClintock. It just works very well w/ my chemistry. I received compliments from men and women whose eyes would light up as they asked me what it was! People would be surprised when I would tell that that it was JM because it did not smell the same to them on themselves or others. I have tried other white florals and at age 27, I am ready for something a little more unique and mature that works this well with my chemistry. Now, as I type this, I think I want another bottle of an old favorite.

Sweet floral which smells a bit fresh that seems to not have aged very well. Its advertising is for young people butI cannot see 20-minus year olds wearing this. But if they like it, go for it. Too muhc lily and some faux-gardenia. On the plus side, it seems soft enough to get someone for a gift.

I loved this perfume as a teen. Personally, I couldn't wear it. My skin chemistry was all wrong for this scent, and one squirt would have me smelling like Lysol for the rest of the day. My friend Cristi, however, smelled divine in this, and I admit that I use to needle her about putting this one every day just so I could smell it on her.

Another poster, takemyhusbandplz, is right: there's a ton of a lily of the valley and honeysuckle in this perfume. Which, to me, makes this more suitable for a younger generation. Even if I could wear it now, I wouldn't. But this is a scent I wouldn't mind buying for a teenage daughter, if I had one. Very feminine and a bit "old fashioned" just like the image Jessica McClintock portrays in her designs.

This perfume absolutely stinks real bad. I tried one squirt of this and it made me feel sick for the rest of the day, i had to wash numerous times and still couldn't get rid of the smell. Very strong and pungent and took me back to the 70's and smelled like a cheap perfume from that era. Yuck!!!
