This is a not a bad scent, but I feel it suffers from being too sweet. There is a little bit of citrus at the opening, and it quickly becomes spicy and fairly sweet. The scent smells nice, with hints of wood and leather. It is very smooth in style. The dry-down gets sweeter and sweeter, and vanilla-like notes emerge. Quickly I lose interest. In my opinion, Tommy Bahama for Men is a far more satisfying spicy-wood warm style of scent. It is drier and doesn't get tiresome.

Tried it the other day and was very impressed...on me it turned into wood and cinnamon/spice....IMO, could easily pass for something by tauer! I will be getting a bottle soon.

This was a mistake. I was really hoping to like JV10 because the original JV initiated me into my love of perfume, but unfortunately this one is a sad disaster. The cinnamon is indistinct and the wood and leather to my nose read more like a muted, lethargic amber. It has none of the brightness and or spice I the listed notes would suggest, as if everything good accidentally evaporated while they were compounding the fragrance. If clinical depression had a smell, JV10 would be it.

JV has done it again. Awesome scent, woodsy and leathery. No problems with longevity, 10hrs and still going on my wrist! One of my new favourite scents! A+

A very long lasting fragrance that smells like Blu Notte! Perfect for cool weather! I think I'll stick to Blu Notte by Bulgari. Blu Notte can be picked up at Ross for 20-30 dollars instead of paying 70 to 80 dollars for the Varvatos. I'm not bashing JV where the original is one of my favorite fragrances. Projection, sillage & longevity are great for the JV though.

Cinnamon toast with no butter, no sugar. Somewhat gourmand, though a bit dry and stark in places. Retro. A melange of Ambre Sultan, A*men, and Rive Gauche with the much of the sweetness replaced with bitterness. Not a bad thing, in fact I like this one quite a bit. My nose detects isobutylquinoline in the black leather accord and it often tends to suck the calories out of most compositions. The bitter nature of the orange increases this dryness. It tends to smell like the point of equidistance between a lot of different popular fragrances. A kind of patchouli halfway-house.

clean cinnamon/cocoa opening drying down to vanilla/leather composition. initial spicy tone last a couple of hours before the leather drydown which lasted about 4-6 hours on my skin. liked it way better than artisan.

Very well done! A sophisticated, classy and modern scent, which brings to mind some of the great fragrances from the past, while maintaining its own originality. I used to enjoy wearing Santos de Cartier (before they changed the formula), and the new Varvatos just might fill the gap in my collection. Warm, leathery and very smooth. Yes, quite impressed by this one!
