Not properly an hit of originality but a decently crafted scent for sure. In the same vein of a huge quantity of widespread fragrances of the market (Joop Nightflight, New West For Him Aramis, Paco Rabanne Xs, some Bvlgari, Canali, Baldessarini, Estee Lauder, Calvin Klein, Creed, Adidas etc) this woodsy-ozonic is a blend of watery synthetic fruits , hedione, aromatic herbs, patchouli and mossy amber. I prefer the first part till when the watermint and the aromatic  herbs are detectable before the fragrance starts fading soon and leaving the stage to fruits, spices and ozonics. The link of dark tea, patchouli, spices and moss produces a very shadowy feel and the smell is moody, and dusty-spicy in a masculine way till the end with its lack of flowers and the depth of ambergris, moss and spices. Not so bad.

I know that this scent is a Love or Hate cologne, and truth be told, I didnt like this one at first. It was not like any of the other Nauticas on the market. BUT, now that I am a little older, Im sorry that I cannot find it anymore! It reminds me of something that is trying to be sophisticated, but not too refined. Cool and classy, but not elite. The drydown is a nice mix of woods and spiceit really reminds me of a crisp Autumn day. Although this isnt that clean, fresh beachy smell that Nautica is known for, this gets a 5 Star rating from me. Longevity is excellent. I just wished that they still made this one! If you ever find it at a reasonable price, pick it up...you won't be disappointed. If you dont like it, sell it to me! Its not the years in a life, its the life in the years!

Bought this early in high school, still have 3/4 bottle left. I'm 25 now. Didn't use this one much. Was a nice change of pace when I got it, but now it's more of just an air freshener for me.

Do I think it smells good? 2/5
Compliments from the ladies? 1/5
Overall 2/5

The actual scent is actually quite nice, although not especially exiting. Its very minty-spicy scent that woods back up really nicely. It doesnt smell so much synthetic (in a bad way) than the one would perhaps expect.

However, it is FAR too weak on my skin for my tastes, and it does not last long either.

Also, the whole sailing concept is everything but compelling.

The orange coloured soap-in-a-rope wrapped in paper side product was kind of cute.

One of the best surprises I've had this year! I had always avoided this discontinued frag because I'd just assumed that it was just another boring aquatic clone from Nautica.

What I discovered when I actually sampled it? A very pleasant, spicy twist on the aquatic (think nutmeg and musk!) with a warm and rich sandalwood drydown.

This has been my favorite fragrance for the majority of my adult life. It has a really nice fresh scent, smells great in all phases, and last pretty much all day with just a couple of sprays. I know everyone says this of their favorite fragrances, but I have gotten more compliments from women about this than any other fragrance, by far. I'm really, really disappointed that it's been discontinued and haven't been able to find a suitable replacement for it, so I've been stocking up as much as I can get my hands on

A modern interpretation of the classic Safari by Raph Lauren...at least in the opening and first few transitions. it becomes gradually sweet, then salty as some reviewers mentioned, an oceany feel that balances quite well with the sweetness. Theere is also a white skin musk that shows up as the scent approaches its dry down. At this point, I get the impression that this is an old school (80s) scent disguising as a younger brighter fragrance. Overall, its not bad, I think it is best suited for sunny days outdoors. The sillage and projection are a bit above average. Nice sweet and salty fragrance.

There seem to be many negative reviews about this fragrance, but a man walked by me while I was working (I work in retail), and he smelled so delicious I actually followed him around and eventually asked him what he was wearing. I NEVER do anything like that - but I was so horny for the way he smelled I would've left my boyfriend for this guy and have his babies. Too bad it's discontinued - I'd like to smell it again and see if it still holds up.
