I remember buying this as a handsome teenager in the late 1990's... and loving it, only to have it 'discontinued'. I recently discovered it on eBay and bought a bottle - I have never been complimented so much on a fragrance! I love the fact it lasts a long time and the sweet but masculine smell. I have since bought 6 more bottles of it... Maybe I have the OCD? :)

This is a tremendous fragrance. Why on earth has it been discontinued? It should have been protected by UNESCO. I remember having a bottle of this stuff in EDT form in 1996 and had not seen it since - luckily I found a bottle of it in Dubai a few weeks ago so that I and those closest to me can enjoy its enchanting smell again:) I agree that the EDT has all the strength of an Eau de Parfum. It has this dominant zesty sour-like note (perhaps the mandarin combining with the tomato leaf) that is warm, none too sweet and extremely masculine. The smell of this note is also totally distinctive - no other juice I have come across since smells like it - and thus because of its increasing rarity would make an excellent and largely unique signature fragrance. The note is prominent from the beginning and remains through the drydown where ultimately it merges into the nice woody, musky base. The fragrance seems to belong to the same category of fragrances as Aramis Original (1980s guise of course) and has similarly outstanding sillage and longevity to it (I found that 4 modest sprays were enough for it to be smelt at least 8 hours later without difficulty or need to smell close my skin close up). The fragrance in my opinion would suit anyone from the ages of 25 upwards, and is versatile enough to use as a casual or evening-out fragrance summer or wintertime. It could also be used as an office fragrance as long as its powerful sillage is respected. The bottle is lovely & unpretentious and with a real presence on the dresser, and together with the suave fragrance screams pure Italian style. Bring it back! please...

Unique and very Italian fragrance...this is very "Tuscan" in scent. I was hesitant, admittingly, reading Tomato Leaf as a predominant note. But, then I remember how wonderful the smell of a tomato garden is - earthy and warm, so after reading all the very positive reviews I bought blind. No regrets - it is very elegant, refined and beautiful. The top blast of bergamot and lavender (along with the tomato leaf) warm up on the skin very quickly. This, in my opinion, could be worn anytime of the year. But, it is truly a skin scent. The beauty lies in how it develops over time...this is like a stroll through a garden in Tuscany with tomato plants and beautiful Romas hanging down, flowers in the air with wild lavender on a breeze and cypress/cedar wood from the grove next to the property. I cannot get much synthetic properties out of this...which is rare. It doesn't overty project - it stays closer to the skin, but that is where you want this. Usually, I am able to find at least one blatant attempt at trying to "manufacture" a scent, but this is truly like an organic and bountiful garden. I love Italy and spent my honeymoon there and my wife and I drove all throughout Tuscany. The smell is still in my vivid memory and Trussardi L'Uomo is a wonderful creation that was, for whatever reason, discontinued. Well, I will definitely buy several bottles more and keep them. This will be part of my wardrobe - especially on a nice spring day at picnic in the park or with my family playing bocce ball and enjoying some fine food. Wonderful - bravo. 8-8.5/10.

I brought this fragrance in the late 90s and I didnt finish even half the perfume. I was 16yo then and I did not like the manly woody smell that this frag came with thereafter. There was also a sourish note to the scent that turned me off. Now im wearing Gucci by Gucci Homme and i realised both of them can be categorised under the same family as both has tabacco leave note to it except that Gucci has a hint of sweet base note that I favor more.

This is truly a unique and wonderful fragrance for a man. Having just joined basenotes I find this fragrance is discontinued! This is indeed a tradgedy. As other members have attested, this smells like nothing else on the market that I've come across. L'uomo has a true Italian feel to it made special by the tomato opening. While some might find the sound of tomato leaf to be off putting I can tell you this opens fresh and slightly acidic (not in a bad way at all) recalling the fresh openess of sweet Italian tomato vines in Tuscany for my nose. Thrilling to say the least. This sent me back to my childhood being with my Grandfather as he picked tomatoes in his garden and made my heart skip a beat. It then dries down to a wonderful fragrance with the spice of the tomato leaves still present and some tobacco and vanilla peaking through. I say peaking as it is not strong but present enough to be felt. My skin tends to soak in fragrances so it may not be as strong as others feel. This is a scent that says the man wearing it is world wise, a gentleman and not afraid to get his hands dirty but also has a refinement as well. He is a gentleman and 'man' is the very truest sense of the word. I cannot give this fragrance high enough praise. Totally unique and gorgeous for a male scent. Bravissimo Trussardi!!! Please bring it back!!!!

Pretty wild blind buy. When I first joined the site, everyone knew more than I, so I bought this totally blind.

When I first tested it, I was disappointed. After several months of trying different frag, Trussardi L'Uomo has got to be one of my top 5...maybe top 3. Wears like a EdP than an EdT, so spray once and enjoy. What a great scent for the special "one", I'm sure she will enjoy it more than you. What more needs to be said?

this was a great creation. it reminded me of jazz but with warmth. elegant, easy and comforting. don't understand why it was unpopular that they had 2 discontinue it's production :(

The drydown on this one is PHENOMENAL -- it's almost like owning three completely different scents.

WHY WHY WHY did they discontinue this one?

I did a blind test once, giving 6 scents for 9 people in the room - L'UOMO, DARK BLUE, A'MEN, P Givenchy, L'EAU PAR and CHROME. The result was - 7 out of 9 chose L'UOMO as the scent they liked the most. Another guy liked CROME, and another one - A'MEN. All the girls liked Trussardi better. True story.
