Soapy, powdery, discreet woodsy chypre in which blend i detect above all (in the top) bitter orange, lemon and aromatic herbs than (going on) cedarwood, resins, floral notes and musk. The opening is very citrus (and the artemisia surely pushes up the sour astringent/aromatic initial temperament of the scent) but the almost fierce opening lasts fortunately few minutes . The fragrance indeed soon fades in a musky , for a while powdery, almost opaque (anyway discreetly mild) lemony-mossy smell so balmy and refined. The addition of amber enhances the soapy, (musky/animalic), resinous temperament of the dry down. Very good longevity on my skin. Ps: i have to admit this is a wonderful scent, the beginning is a bit hard to approach but the musky (carnal and almost edible boise) dry down, with its incredibly balanced and sophisticated iris/geranium spark plus patchouli and amber, is simply to die for, elegant, smooth, exotic and charming.

Blue Box Montana Homme = The Bogart Pour Homme of fresh/citrus/soap scents. Is it cheap? You bet. Is it great? No. Citrus and soap in rare form? Absolutely. Imagine: 35% EDP of Nicolai's Cologne Cedrat 20% EDP of Nicolai's Cologne Friction 10% white barsoap 8% Creed Orange Spice 7% Red "ICEE" Frozen Slush drink 5% Jacques Bogart Eau Fraiche 5% Trumper GFT 5% Lemon Joy dishsoap 3% Italian Ice with the peel and seeds in it 2% Maitre Ambre Precieuax Starts with a big lemon note, dries to a clean, soapy, musky scent. citrusy/cool/slushee note remains throughout, as does the Lemon Joy. Ends at a light taste of a semi-sweet, pale amber like the Maitre. A true Bargain for those wanting long lasting citrus, who don't positively hate really soapy scents, and don't mind a tiny taste of Orange Spice/Kouros. (no urinals, just the soapy musky smell) Thumbs up.

Hmmm Got no camphor or menthol or citrus on this one as opposed to many other reviewers. The initial notes are discordant and a little bit sharp. Evolves nicely into the soap you wish your soap smelled like. A gentle but masculine smell that in my office was surprisingly polarizing. Had received samples of this along with Creed's Avantus and sprayed both liberally on each wrist. A third liked Creed, a third liked Montana(mine just says Montana Homme and leaves the pour off) and a third liked them equally for different reasons. Not a bad showing for a far less costly frag.

Excellent fragrance Very citrus - almost lemon sherbit (but not in a gourmand way )perhaps lemon verbena would be a better description . It smells refined and It is totally unique when compared to other citrus fragrances . and most importantly it lasts !!!! Lovely lovely fragrance .A definate favourite in my wardrobe

This is some refreshing stuff that I imagine would be great during any time of the year. I may give this one further testing but despite having a powerful blast the fragrance seemed to fade quickly. Perhaps more sprays will correct this problem but I didn't spray too much since the sprayer is like a fire hose in the amount it expels. The smell itself is fantastic.

Watery, citrusy, musky and refreshing scent.
It is a Woody - Chypre type of perfume.
I think it is a special and elegant perfume.
This perfume used to be called Montana Homme, but when the original Montana Homme got re-launched the name was changed into Montana pour Homme.

Not too fond of this one. Too much green. Comes across with too much of a camphor/menthol note that reminds me too much of a waterd down ben gay.

Montanna can be had for peanuts, but it will cover the cost of dinner. This is clean, fresh, musky, and amber all in one luxurious bottle. When i eventually tracked it down, I found the original red box stuff so overpowering and sweaty, and of the late seventies, early eighties vintage, that it has got to be taken out on a cold day and used sparingly. If you overspray pour Homme, then no problems will arise, you will just smell better, longer. - Is it great? no .... Is it poor, definately not, will it be as fresh as a daisy all day- you bet !!!

2 bottles of original red box 'Parfum D'Homme anyone'?

Bah. I tried to like you, Montana pour Homme. Why did you desert me? I loved your spicy flavoring but you left me a queasy, open feeling in my heart. Perhaps you will find another out there somewhere. I know you've moved on. No, you haven't? Good. I want to keep you here, unformulated. At first you seemed like a jerk, with your spicy head and smooth features but at your hear you are a flower. A delicate flower wanting to bloom. Make yourself bloom! Oh you need water? No, I am not your water, you need to go elsewhere for that. Sulk in your basenotes of musk and grass and call me if you feel like it.

Montana pour Homme has a zippy green-citrus opening that is very perky and fresh. The artemsia gives this a green sparkle. The middle is good, a bit floral but not too sweet. I can smell a bit of powdery iris but it is not heavy. In fact, Id say this not really powdery scent but rather a soapy green scent. The wood tones are very light. The drydown is light too, pleasant musk and amber. This is a good daytime scent. It is a little bit like Guerlains Mouchoir de Monsieur, but more modern in style. Also a bit like Liz Claiborne for Men but more subtle. I like it.
