On El by J del Pozo, 2001

Short burst of pine in the beginning and then.... nothing. Kinda sweet otherwise. It dies really fast on my skin.

A certain soapy and fruity opening, followed by a powdery, ambery, vanillic and spiced piney drydown. A certain resemblance to fellow Spanish scent Esencia Loewe, tough the latter is more formal and puristic, they both have the same conipherous, slightly dark, powdery resinous touch towards the end. A " hot" Mediterranean, that is, a warm, balsamic interpretation of a fresh Mediterranean scent, quite close to the warmth and slightly heavy drydown of Roma Uomo and Minotaure, excellent for a hot summer day. A casual fruity quality to be a daytime scent, yet warm and powerfully persisten and classy to be worn more formally during cold weather. Oddly, most of its many notes don't render it too cluttered or eclectic, i can actually feel only some of them, but each of them being well combined, creating a versatile easygoing nonconformistic all purpose scent. A fairly priced and slightly more complex alternative to usual " youthful " scents like the many Boss or Armani variations on similar themes.

The ozone is rather nice in the opening and at first, the fruit notes seem to blossom nicely, but very quickly they form one of those fruity conglomerates that is so 90s. I just dont care for these everything but the kitchen sink accordsthey are always mediocre. Fortunately the fruit note doesnt last long. The floral middle is quite understated and short lived, but the accord is pleasant. The base becomes another conglomeratethis time mixing woods and fruit and moss, and conifer, and musk and amber and powder. This conglomerate is just as disappointing as the one from the opening.
I had found Quasar such a delightful fragrance that I was looking forward to On El. Disappointed again...

I don't see the appeal. A misch-masch of notes that results in nothing special - another fruity fresh men's scent with horrible lasting power. I much prefer Quasar and Adventure.

I am still trying to grasp this scent. It resembles Rocabar by Hermes to an extent, but wow it has so many notes that take it in uncharted directions! Maybe this one will grow on me, I'll have to see. :-o

A masculine fruity floral, better than Acqua di Gio, IMO, sadly its topnotes die away quickly, and becomes a whisper of a scent that wears close to the skin. Perfect for office wear.

Good enough, it's a well balanced masculine sweet cologne, very fruity without falling in a tutti-frutti mix. Top notes stays for more than 2 hours, then gradually fades in a soft, non powdering (and still sweet) woody drydown.

WOW! - J Del Pozo RULZ !! I love adventure quasar and quasar too! This is a very cool fragrance! The only thing that goes against it (IMHO) is that it has a lot of notes!

A very nice citrus find via ebay recently. The initial bite quickly smoothes to a wonderful musk, wood, fruit presentation. The duration is up there as well. My favorite Del Pozo by far.

You gotta give this guy some credit.What's his name anyway? J something has hung around and has 3 decent scents under his belt.ON/EL is A great one for the summer days/nights.
