I was in a bit of a random mood when I tried Series 5: Cinnamon. I had been walking past the Commes Des Garcons counter and spotted the small, white sprayer bottles and upon reading their labels went, "yes, I wouldn't mind smelling like cinnamon today!" Well, it's cinnamon but not in a rich, exotic or spicy way. I've recently begun cooking a variety of dishes and so I've become quite familiar with the scent of freshly ground cinnamon. Perhaps the sherbet aspect gets in the way, giving this fragrance a powdery and strange fizzy quality. The more the scent develops the cleaner and more subdued it becomes. It's delicate and clean rather than exotic and bold, like you may expect. It just feels diluted and strange on the skin, like a deoderant or a body splash rather than a perfume. I must however highlight the fact that this fragrance lasts and lasts, at least well over ten hours. I'm a big fan of oriental scents and anything particularly spicy, so this clean and synthetically sweetened cinnamon scent didn't rock my world, however for those that seek something a little different but clean at the same time, Series 5: Cinnamon could be the perfect pick. There's no doubt in my mind that this fragrance is pleasant, cooling and pretty, however I wanted just a touch more character.

Despite the fact that this Sherbet is to cinnamon as jumping on your bed is to beeing an astronaut, this is a nice scent. A tiny dose of "cannelle" on a HUGE amount of white musk. Fresh but not too generic, with an acceptable sillage and a 3-4 hours lasting power. The budget for this composition was supposed to be very low. What saves Sherbet Cinnamon from precipice is Mr.Duchafour's mastery to make of a puerile composition, a very wearable fragrance. Thumbs up for the perfumeur's ability, thumbs neutral for the smell.

This smells very much like something a child should wear. Or maybe it just smells OF little kids? Gum-chewing kids with milky breath, yeah. Not bad at all, but not perfume for grownups.

Calchic nailed it: Dentyne gum this smells exactly like a stick of Dentyne gum. Series 5 Cinnamon is not really a fragrance for a cinnamon lover its cinnamon is too weak and too distant to satisfy a Cinnabar, JHL, or Ambre Cannelle devotee. I enjoy the smell of those fragrances but I have also come to appreciate the milder, gentler cinnamon of CDGs Series 5 Sherbet Cinnamon. It is cinnamon smoothed, deepened, and broadened by with a bit of spice from the saffron, carnation, and bay. I get a little sweet and a lot of white musk and not much else. Its a gentle fragrance, but not necessarily gentle in a feminine way. I think that it is amply unisex. It has weak sillage, which is okay, and poor longevity, which is not okay. Its longevity earns it a neutral instead of a thumbs up.

Cinnamon in limbo.

There, but doesn't feel like cinnamon.

Conscious? Nah. Dead? Not yet. Alive? Yea, it's somewhere in there.

Masculine? Nope. Feminine? Probably a bit.

This one is so middle of the road, suspended in mid-air, and even has the ghost of Paco Rabanne's "Paco" in it. The initial top notes are pretty harsh and nothing to get excited about... but then it gets better with the entry of even harsher cinnamon after the bergamot fades -- ending up smelling like a snowball on a bed of flowers sprinkled with cinnamon.

Cinnamon is cleansing and is an extremely terrible scent if used in the bedroom. Outside, it works pretty well as a veil-like light (but harsh if sniffed up close) scent.

Thank god it's only 30ml.

There is such thing as quality over quantity and sometimes Comme des Garcons just release too many scents that don't cut it in comparison. Enter Cinnamon.

bergamot, cinnamon, saffron, carnation, benjamin (aka benzoin, a resinous balsam), vetivert, teak wood, white musk, cedar...

the start it´s just lovely subtle icy cinammon and bergamot, then comes the carnation, pure carnation and strong cinammon.
The concept it´s lovely, it´s fresh subtle with caracther on its own, but i thin it will be more situable for young women, not really men, pity!.
Thumbs up as is a different alternative option for the ones that like non conventional perfumes,as the other brothers rhubarb and peppermint;)

I love Rhubarb so I had to try the rest of the sherbet series. I don't like Cinnamon though. I can't even imagine what actual cinnamon sherbet would taste like. Probably just as bad. It just feels so wrong; cool, fresh sherbet should be made out of refreshing fruits and berries, not warm, cosy spices like cinnamon. Cinnamon ice cream, yes, cinnamon sherbet, no.
The scent is minty cool and plasticky like something from the Synthetic series or 53. I get the harsh, wet coolness of vetiver, even though it's subdued. Add to that a weird, misplaced sprinkle of cinnamon. Not a favourite.
