Received a sample of this with another order. I got more generically fruity than citrusy. Very pleasant, but nothing special. Not terribly long lasting (very close to the skin after about an hour, and then gone after 3). It is also very inexpensive, so certainly worth the price if you'd like to try.

I have been waiting to review this for quite some time. This is a modern day fragrance, as it is as synthetic as can be. However, it combines all the benefits of synthetics into a jus that is very pleasing. The initial burst is of an ozonic bitter wet wood that sets the tone for the rest of the fragrance. It is multi-layered and complex yet delightfully simple. Bamboo and violet leaf are the main notes but you would not know it because the mandarin and rosemary do wonders to prevent any sharpness from developing. The fir takes over this role later in the day. The drydown is somewhat boring but understandably so. it is impossible to keep the show going without respraying, which once you do, you are back to that joyous ozone wood heaven. Well done and highly recommended for those with a gray chroma bent.

Perry Ellis Platium is a winner for me for an unusual reason. After an initial foray into fragrance via AXE and some completely forgetable Aeropostale water, my teenaged son carefully, thoughtfully chose this on our first father/son fragrance shopping trip. Is it fairly generic? Yes. But it is a move in the right direction towards quality. I thought it was a little too grown up for him, but was proud of him at the same time. As he grows into himself, he will become less generic and even more quality conscious in his choices - already he is distinguishing between the topnotes, middle, and basenotes of my wardrobe and store sample sprays. I now understand that a nice mid-range scent that smells like 75 other scents has its place - one more brick in the wall between smelling good and, well, AXE! :D
