I loved the original white linen so I decided to give this a shot - hoping that it would be a modern/younger version of that lovely fragrance.

The fragrance is quite airy and fresh, but there is an underlying scent that is not quite pleasant. It has a decidedly synthetic note to it that smells distinctly like fabric softener.

While I can understand the desire to smell 'fresh' and 'clean' I think some frangrances go too far; the result is that sensuality, romance and sometimes feminity are often sacrificed.

Well lookee here, they kinda did A Scent by Issey Miyake three years before he did! I only consciously smelled Pure WL today, and though the start is less vegetal and more floral than that of A Scent, after half an hour or so, the basic bones are much the same, I find. BUT the vegetal-ness is what I crave about A Scent, so this is a no buy. Pure WL is very very nice, the epitome of non-offensive modern clean department store fragrances. I can't imagine anyone hating it... or craving it. And that list of notes, please, it's all so seemless I couldn't possibly identify a single one.

A fresh and breezy scent with a soft fruity-floral top. I like PURE WHITE LINEN better than the original even if it does come across smelling like an overpriced fabric softener, albeit one you can wear anytime and anywhere.

I bought it but never wore it..I found it too boring, too clean...there is a crispness to it, a dryness I do not like...smells like what a librarian would wear..serious, nice, plain...nothing great about it!

Here's another good one my husband bought for me while having no taste in fragrances, but he bought this home and I was utterly surprised.
I need more lily of the valley scents on my vanity. There's a place in my heart for the scent lily of the valley because it is soothing and relaxing and you feel de-cluttered, neat and tidy when you wear it.

My boyfriend came home, sniffed and put it like this: "Hmm, good if you just want to smell nice... but its not driving me wild."

I think thats right on spot. If you want to smell fresh, nice and a like a light warm summery bouquet of flowers without saying anything else; this is a good one. But I won't wear it. Why not?

It smells exactly like one of my mothers perfumes she wore for years, and when I wear perfume I want to feel more like me, and less like my mom. I think it was a Laura Ashley EdT, L'eau or No1, I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm giving my Pure White Linen to her, she'll probably love it.

Pure White Linen is a very, very light scent that briefly calls to mind the classic White Linen, and then disappears. My skin simply cannot hold onto this stuff, which is faint to begin with. It's fresh and pretty. I don't smell any citrus or sweetness. With all the notes listed I thought it may be complex, but to me it's pure "air notes". It's been very hot here, so maybe this will be better in cooler weather.
