Smells exactly like the Mysore soap that you frequently find in Indian grocery stores. (Perhaps that is the soapy quality to it.) If you like the scent of the soap, you will like C&E's version of Sandalwood.

A dry, dusty, soapy, spicy, almost medicinal sandalwood. In my opinion this is the best of the 'barbershop' sandalwoods. Although clove is present it isn't overpowering, a feature which often seems to dog the genre. It is notably spicy though and far from the simple (or boring, depending on your point of view) end of the spectrum. Avoid if you are looking for a Tam Dao-style creamy, unisex, smooth sandalwood. To give a rough idea of the scent, imagine Luten's spice-fest Santal de Mysore at almost homeopathic dilution and then combined 1:1 with MPG's Santal Noble. It does need a good bit of sprayage to get it to last a day (I use 10 sprays and make sure some gets on hair and fabric). Inexpensive and great value for money, this is my favourite fragrance from the C&S range. Despite the bargain price it isn't a typical mass-market scent and not a particularly safe blind buy. I think it suits a mature man; there is nothing here for bum-fluff-sporting panty-dropper seekers. Which reminds me - the matching shaving soap is excellent, too.

This is a very linear fragrance and extremely true to its name - this is almost straight-up sandalwood. The amber adds a slightly burnt creamy note that works very well with the sandalwood, resulting in this fragrance smelling like a pile of sawdust into which you'd be all too happy to jump. The strength and longevity are, like in the rest of C&E's mens range, well above average (and the price is excellent). The lack of any progression in this fragrance means that I'll be swinging towards Tam Dao instead, but for a pure and 'true' sandalwood edt, this stuff is quite good.

Not bad but not that work of art that the far more complex Sienna (from the same brand) represents. The notable trait is the soapy laundriness that is a bit industrial and unnatural. The combination of musk and spices brings out effectively a sort of pungent rubbery vibe and the cinnamon is definitely prominent but nothing suffocating or cloying. The juice is classic in construction, moderately aromatic and utterly formal. Another choice for the lovers of sandalwood. The longevity is on the average.

I can honestly say this is one of the worst Sandalwoods I have ever encountered.
After wearing it for a few hours and it utterly refusing to die, despite me attempting one washing off of it, I felt faintly nauseous.
I find this cloyingly soapy and sweet to the point of being able to rot teeth.
It has a dry synthetic quality to it amongst the sweetness which I find off-putting.
There are much better Sandalwoods out there which have a far more enjoyable ride, TOBS Sandalwood Cologne and of course Trumpers, which are also from that barber shop tradition, would be two that spring to mind.
I would not recommend this and don't ever want to wear it again. A definite thumbs down.

A very straightforward, linear sandalwood, this has a soapy, creamy quality to it that I find very attractive. To my nose, it doesn't change a great deal through its development, the base being perhaps a little more animalic than the top. That's no bad thing though - it's quite nice to come home smelling the same as you did after showering in the morning.
Sillage is decent, length moderate. A good every-day fragrance.

Found this on the Internet. It's not the same as the "original." I haven't been schooled in fragrances, but I noticed immediately that something was different. My nose knows.

Although it is a quality Fragrance, this Sandalwood is very linear, and more akin to a cinnamon scent than any other Sandalwood I've known.
The staying power is very, very low, and dries to a spicy scent that seems more edible than enjoyable.
It's not an offensive or poor scent, but 'Eau de Cinnamon' would be a better name, in my opinion.
