I seemed to have had my perfume friend, Late Hit's good luck today: I dropped into a thrift store to pick up a couple of cheapie t-shits and I was checking out, I noticed an odd object inside the glass display case below the counter. I asked the clerk to see it and it turned out to be Tabacco by Odori with the leather cap and bottle that's suspended in a wooden frame. The taped-on tag said $6.95. I vaguely remembered seeing a bottle like that as I was researching tabacco scents a couple of years back, but I wasn't sure. I spritz some on and liked it instantly. It opens with a the strong sweet scent of a freshly opened pouch of pipe tobacco and even though eucalyptus and jasmine, and orange flower are listed, I don't get those notes. The scent seems to slowly quiet down to a subtle combination of tabacco, incense, a dusting of cocoa powder and vanilla beans (just a tad bit too much vanilla for me), that reminds me of something between new Tabac Blond by Caron, and Serge Luten's Fumerie Turque. From time to time I ponder trying to purchase either a full, or partial bottle of Fumerie Turque, and I scour ebay looking for vintage Tabac Blond, but both are so far out of my price range that I know I'm just going through the motions. With this full, 100 ml bottle of Odori's Tabacco I can end the search (for those two, at least) as Odori Tabacco satisfies my tabacco scent craving completely, even though it could be a little more dry and smoky. Silliage is moderate. I think men would appreciate the opening phase more and women would appreciate the sweet woody dry down more.

A very strong tobacco, it could even be described as 'harsh." Mixed with reminiscence of leather. It does last forever and the vanilla/tobacco dry down is very worth the wait. Unfortunately, it is too harsh for me. I prefer the mellowness of the tobacco scents in Caron's TABAC BLOND, CUBA RED and Krizia's MOODS. If however you are a fan of very strong tobacco, you will love and be redolent of it for hours and hours. The price tag is however very high - over $200.

What I really like about Tobacco is it's clearly defined scent. It smells exactly like vanilla-scented pipe tobacco, stored in a leather bag. It's rich and powerful, and a small amount lasts all day. I love it, but only wear it on special occasions, when I'm feeling especially manly.

WOW!!!
I really like this Fragrance !!!
Rich in tone and feel...
Bitter orange softened with a hint of jasmine somehow works on my skin really well
that settles in a rich smoky base of Vanilla Tobacco...

TABAC BLOND is made very youthful .. even "Teenage" in comparison
and a Smokier robust leathery version of Chanel- Cuir Russe!
and yet there is no mention of LEATHER in the mix!

SOFT as a CASHMERE SWEATER..
Warm as a Cup of Coffee
"Grown-up" and comfortable like a
a Favorite Old Bookstore...

A new found fave!
I am unable to pry my nose from my wrist. !!! as we speak!!!

I tend to like darker, heavy scents and this one is one of my favorites. The tobacco shows up strong at the start but becomes very mingled with a very rich vanilla after dry down in a very masculine way. It lasts for hours and seems to continue developing into something else all day. Puts me in the mind of fine cigars and really good bourbon.

I never regret this purchase in spite of the steep price.

Citrus-floral ashtray.

On me, the whole scent becomes transparent, probably caused by the combination of bitter orange and eucalpytus -- conjuring an image of smoked cigarettes floating on iced orange juice, but with all the ice melted. Wears lightly with slightly subpar longevity and sillage. Very unsatisfying.

....The bitter orange gives way almost immediately to the sweet incense and ever-present tobacco within seconds. The top and heart of this scent bear notable similarities to JPG's Fleur de Le Male, with the orange blossom in FDLM and the bitter orange here. In Tabacco, however, the entire composition is smoother and the base richer-in comparison to FDLM, where the base remains the sharp ashtray note that we meet early on. Here it wears off with the heart....I do find Tabacco fairly potent, unlike other reviewers, but maybe that's because I am comparing it to women's frags instead of men's.... The eucalyptus and vetiver are used very judiciously and do not present as individual smells, but rather as part of a larger harmony. ..I have been keeping a tin of Bay Rum tobacco next to my bed for years to remind me of my dear Grandpa Taylor. This scent is as close to that tobacco as ever I have smelled. I would definitely wear this, mostly to bed ;}. It's about as comforting as hubby's big camelhair cardigan.

Wondering what comprises "Somalian Incense"?

Odoris Tabacco exhibits an unusual and creative way to handle the tobacco accord. The tobacco is immediately noticeable with the first spray. I dont get the bitter orange that is supposed to be on top, but I get a stab of incense. I believe that this is the first time I smelled the combination of tobacco and incense. The tobacco note here is quite unlike other tobacco notes Ive experienced in that it is rather humid and sweet and a bit dark at the same time. Its an intriguing presentation of tobacco, but it doesnt hold up long enough it gets too weak IMO. There is some adjacent action of eucalyptus, vetiver, and jasmine occurring with the tobacco in the middle notes, and I would really love what is happening if it had a little more presence on skin, but its too light: Im not ready for a skin scent in the heart notes of course it could be my skin thats the problem. The drydown is a very nice vanilla, oak moss, and continued tobacco again, I like it very much but it is too, too weak. To show what I mean about its weakness: When I first sniffed this, I thought it reminded me of Santa Maria Novelles Acqua di Cuba (they are actually quite different), so I sprayed some Acqua di Cuba on the back of my hand and gave it a good sniff. Then I turned back to the spray of Odoris Tabacco I couldnt smell a thing. My sniff of Acqua di Cuba overwhelmed my nose and I couldnt smell Tabacco for forty-five minutes: A knock-out punch in one sniff. As beautiful and creative as Tabacco is, its too light and it doesnt last long enough.

Sweet, sweet tobacco. Like a really well-kept tobacconist's shop. Heavenly. Smokey. Sweet. There's nothing more to say. I'm not a smoker but the smell of a good tobacco scent, pipe or cigar really gets to me. Excellent.

This is gorgeous. Honeyed vanilla notes with tobacco are not my style, and yet I find much to appreciate here. The opening notes, although sweet, are not cloying. The impression is of a sweetly-scented tin of pipe tobacco that has just been opened. This is a very attractive, even sexy scent. The tobacco leaves are restrained and give a beautiful brown-leaf tang. Moving into its development, the scent displays luxurious incense and jasmine. The incense reminds me of myrrh, another sweet and perfumed aspect. Vetiver is mellow rather than grassy. So I have to say this is one of the best scents in the tobacco family that Ive ever encountered. It is classy and compelling. My problem is that vanilla and tobacco just get sweeter and more opulent on my skin, and after an hour I grow weary of them. But this is truly a lovely scent, and Id enjoy a romp with a lovely woman wearing it. So, a neutral vote but still appreciative.
