Sexy, edible vanilla-amber in a nutshell. If you like oriental vanillas, this is a MUST TRY! A thick, warm vanilla and ambery musk scent with just a hint of some other fruity note that I can't quite pick out. I'm thinking it may be plum or a red berry of some sort. Not too sweet, and not too tart...makes a perfect balance between the vanilla and musks. I love this, but I don't think I could wear it every day. Very, very potent...a drop will definitely do you for many hours. Jan 19 2009

I love this perfume. It is a smooth and beautiful vanilla with a touch of musk. It envelops you like a warm hug and is softly present. I cannot imagine this scent offending anyone and it makes me happy wearing it. Delicious, delicate, smooth, and soft and oh so pretty. A must for any lover of vanilla IMO.

I originally wrote a long, over-analytical review of Tihota. In the end, this is what it came down to:

1. Yes, it's "just" sugary vanilla, and musk
2. Yes, it might seem expensive for something so simple
3. But guess what? It's totally worth it.

The quality of ingredients and balance between the vanilla and musk is simply outstanding. Although sweet vanilla and musk is all you might smell at first, I highly doubt that the composition is as simple as it seems. There are probably multiple kinds of musk, and multiple variations of vanilla all blended together to create Tihota's "straight forward" interpretation of vanilla. That's what's so genius about it: the breathtaking simplicity of it all.

This is by far the best vanilla fragrance on the market. I prefer it over the complex and almost-as-wonderful Spiritueuse Double Vanille.

I am giving Tihota 5 stars becasue this truly is one of the best vanilla scents out there. It's hard to find a quality 'just vanilla' scent ( OK, it has musk in it too but it doesn 't outshine the vanilla ! )
Composed by the highly talented Francis Kurkdjian ,it's notes are vanilla bean and musk . For such a simple fragrance of vanlla and musk there is some evolution to it- it goes on as light-ish vanilla which gradually warms up becoming more buttery, warm ,rich and the musks just give it a touch of depth taking it out of the cake shop - so to speak . Attests to the quality. I think much thought was put into thiscreation though it seems simple enough.
This stuff lasts and lasts in a subtle but rich ,gourmand way .

There have been many times when I have thought Tihota worthy of many full bottles but I have yet to pull the trigger to purchase. One day I will because Olay is not going to be taking my suggestion of making Vanilla Indulgence into a body spray any time soon. Double Drat !!!
Thankfully there is Tihota - so there is a Vanilla God albeit one that requires $$$.

I cannot really understand projects like Indult. What is exclusive on Tihota? Only the package and distribution. Nothing else. What you get is a simple plain vanilla, vanilla-ish from the beginning to the end. It has a sweet sugar and creamy vanilla smell, that starts strong and annoying and quickly shades to a pale and 'been-there done-that-before' vanilla and musk sort of thing. A good fragrance? Yes? A recognizable one? Not really? It is 225 dollars worth? Not at all!
I recommend testing before buying this one, since you can get really disappointed.

It's very easy to write a review of Tihota. It's simply the best singular vanilla scent created. I'll give it thumbs up for that, but thumbs down for its price for how singular it is. I would love to purchase a whole bottle and layer this with the rest of my wardrobe with reckless abandon, but its not going to happen.

Farmacia SS. Annunziata Vaniglia Madagascar is far superior in its construction as a stand alone scent, that can also be layered. Yes it has lemon and Amber, but at it's base and dry down are a vanilla close enough to Tihota without the price, and with diversity of use.

This is the best vanilla I've ever come across (Liquide Memoire has a good submission, a little below this one in quality)

Really sensual, warm, and rich. A must try for musky vanilla lovers!

Searching for a vanilla & wood combination, I had to try Tihota and very glad I did. This one is an outstanding vanilla fragrance.
So good, it begins to give Guerlain's SDV a run for its money IMO - the big difference being the inclusion of 'smoke' in SDV, which is the SDV downfall as far as I'm concerned.
Personally, I'm beginning to think that smoke notes are playing out - at least I hope so. For me, their time has come and gone since so many are / have done it.

I've read that Tihota projects a sort of vanilla cake aura - that IS true but the waft is only slightly so. Not overly sweet and it is pretty linear.
For me, the drydown reveals a dry vanilla and leaves an 'amber' note originally present behind.

One note I pick up on is a sort of 'berry' tone which I haven't heard or seen mentioned before. It could just be my skin @ this particular point in time but I can't imagine how.
Either way, this is good stuff - for a single note vanilla.

One a scale of 1 - 10, I'm giving it an 8 on intensity or strength a 7 in the longevity department as well as a 7 for projection / sillage.

As I am new to the world of fragrances I am ordering sample sets by note to familiarize my nose. I'm starting with vanillas. I find this to be a pleasant staightforward vanilla with the slightest touch of incense which keeps it from being too gourmandy, I like that it's not too sweet. While I find it nice, my thoughts keep going to what I can layer it with, and it's a bit costly for that in my opinion. It doesn't last all day on me either. Hubby was napping when I stuck my wrist under his nose, his response? " um, vanilla." and right back to sleep. I think that pretty much sums it up.

My H.G Vanilla. Tihota has the most intense Vanilla with a pure and clean musk base. Just lovely all by itself, but also layers well. Lasts all day. Sillage is modest, so I can wear it to work. Simple and sumptuous.
