Btw, Pure Leather is a a great fragrance, really underloved flanker.
Thought I would throw up a few swap items:
John Varvatos 10th Anniversary 80% 3.4oz
Geir Ness 1.7oz EDP 90%
Jacamo for men Silver 99% Full 3.4oz 100mL
Z Zegna Gift Set 1.7oz + Body Wash new...
This was a mistake blind buy for me. While it does smell like Fierce, the longevity is very poor.
I was so thrilled to find Pure Coffee locally in Canada. The re-released to date have only been in the states UK, and I missed it on its first time around. I was honestly dissapointed by it though,...
I was dissapointed with Sunrise, very synthetic smelling (which I could deal with), but the poor longevity on top was a deal breaker for me. I would go with Legend.
Thought I would post up since I didn't see a thread about this but, Pure Coffee is available at the TM Web site:
Let me know if anyone is selling either of these Fragrances please :)
I didn't know CH was a cheapie? Can't find it at discounters from what I have seen. I havn't tried Lanvin Sport, but CH Men is a definite mainstay in my collection - a better version of Givenchy Play...
Definitely Perry M, one of the few cheepies I have held onto, and would replace if I ever lost it.
Jacomo is a bit old school smelling to me.
I purchased this after the accolades on BN about the longevity. It was simply not the case for me, I get about 4 hours and thats about it after several wearings.
To add something to this list I...
I also have the tin can version, bought from Walmart for a cool $25 only about a year ago. It was a mainstay there
I had really modest expectations for b*men, I think its truly fantastic. Not Pure Havane/Malt level, but definitely great.
Original and Absolutely Gold are superb fragrances, looking forward to seeing this.
Original and Absolutely Gold are superb fragrances, looking forward to seeing this.
Your lucky it lasts and projects on your skin, it absolutely doesn't on mine. But 4 Sounds about right.
This is a dead ringer for GPH1, I have tested these arm and arm and they are extremely close.
Uomo, although I don't wear it nearly as much anymore. Nightflight is great, but very fleeting on my skin (2-3 hours tops)
Its nice to finally post in one of these.
All were 95+% full.
Gucci Pour Homme II 50mL for $20
Gucci Pour Homme 30mL for $10
Varvatos Vintage 125mL for $30
I abstained from vintage Dior...
Interesting, looking forward to trying this one!
I actually quite like Elixir, and of course the original a true classic.
I hated "night time", and Visit was bit of a let down for me. Nice cedar note but otherwise quite fleeting.
Just as a follow up, to my nose it is very close to Muglers B*Men with some John Varvatos Vintage components thrown in. I prefer B*Men though. Good fragrance for the price.
Definitely a solid 8.5/10 in my books!
Nothing against people from the UK (I love the UK and try to visit once a year), however, interaction with strangers is not a particularly strong characteristic of their people (unless complaining...
Magnetism may be even harder to find.
Magnetism may be even harder to find.
I have finally got a decent amount of time testing this one out. And to my surprise, I really do enjoy it, something really gourmandish about this fragrance but I just can't place it. Its a very...
I quite liked MJ Legend, New Haarlem on the other hand was far too sickly sweet for me.
Yes Sir! Agreed
The ultimate gourmand (in the true sense) for me is still A*Men.
I really thought Absolutely gold is a superb fragrance. Its a Pure Parfume and smells fantastic to my nose:
My description below:
I tried this on after reading the great reviews on here, I don't know if my bottle turned or something, but I found it sickly. I had bad comments on it from some of the people I was with as well.
Jay I still wear your La Nuit De L'homme that I swapped for often, in fact its my SOTD.
Spicebomb isn't bad, but it tries too hard, I would rather wear EDB.
I suppose they are simmilar in a sense, but not close.
I found 24 gold to be close!
Great fragrance, a bit more harsh than Pure Shot, but better lasting power.
Thanks for the post! I ended up getting Perry M from another user, and Visit from FX.
Not stocking up, great scent but I have so many in rotation it would take me years to get through this one (which I don't wear all too often)
Thanks for the input everyone. Funny enough, I didn't know that Curve was as popular as it is until I came to BN. And the first time that I smelled Curve was in fact when I purchased a bottle (I...
Thanks very much for the story and the details on the reformulation. I havn't really worn curve out many times, but I really enjoy the scent on my skin. Its synthetic yes, but something about the...
I have (go figure) really taken a liking to this fragrance. I bought a bottle from FragranceX for a song and couldn't be happier. I did hear that they reformulated the juice at some point and was...
Yeah, its a quality fragrance, something you could give as a gift with pretty sure assurance that the recipient would enjoy. It reminds me of a grown up Moschino Uomo, but with the personality sucked...
I really like this one, one of the best fragrance bargains out there for a nice enjoyable fresh scent.
I respectfully disagree. While I don't believe in hording fragrances you don't like, I don't believe in getting significantly less than what I paid for it, I enjoy having the option of selection and...
Canali Black Diamond... The one time I don't test for Longevity and Projection it bites me!
Amazing scent though, and very happy I own it (3rd bottle!)
Since you said you like your sweet scents, I think its safe. Its a very high quality fragrance and well priced considering. Personally, I found it to be sickly, but I have less tolerance to sweet.
I get the similarities... that your talking about. I finally picked this one up and am truly impressed. All of the hype that this fragrance got I believe are extremely deserved. A beautiful gourmand...
I had this as a 50mL, gold circular bottle (sister bottle being the Platinum version), while the top is comparable to Aventus, I don't get much smoke from it. Its a decent fragrance, but probably...
Here is a rogue choice suggestion... Michael Jordan Legend.
With my perceived 'likeness' on a scale of 10 (when I have tried out the alternatives)
Virgin Island Water - Bath and Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena, Set Sail St.Barts Tommy Bahama (4)
I personally prefer La Nuit, Play intense got somewhat bitter on my skin.
Both are great designer releases of the last few years. I would recommend looking out at Dior Homme Intense also.
Curious, how many sprays do you use? And.. I hate to ask this... What batch number (I can hear the collective groan of BN lol)
Honestly I was never much of a believer in minimalist scents however, Molecule 01 changed it all for me. I love that scent, it has a certain aura about it which is amazing.
I had no idea that the Cocoa was amped up in the current DH. I have to give that a go.
What? Because he stated an opinion on a video medium rather than on BN? Give me a break.
I won't lie, this one has always peaked my interest a bit!
I personally would prefer to have the bottle, as it looks a fair bit classier.
I'm happy I still have my Tin Can RG though, its a great fragrance although I don't reach for it all the time. It was...
I have a feeling that Pure Malt may be a mainstay now, it doesn't show up on the Limited Edition section of the page.
Edit: But it does still say Limited Edition when you go to the store section...
This fragrance is known for this... Spraying more/differently won't help out a whole lot.
Well,I will definitely say Tobacco Vanille - but if your a collage student I wonder if the price tag is a consideration for you.
Another suggestion would be Eau Des Beux (my favorite winter...
I wouldn't worry about it, make sure its packaged very well and hand it over to Canada Post. And your right CP shipments are handled by USPS in the states.
I always just mark the parcel as Cosmetics, and send it away.
Not a chance, Definitely BDC!
Spicebomb is good, but EDB does it better!
Totally fine, but max out at 2 Sprays.
I came here looking for "the one", and now I probably have about 40 odd... A totally enjoyable Failure.
I had some close contenders in Aventus and One Million, though
I think it is superb, I really didn't think it was too special when I first tested it out, but after a few wears I realized the genius of it. Really pleasant, great compliment getter and long lasting...
This is true. If you purchased from FragranceX, I would not be concerned.
I have been on quite the fragrance fix of late, devoting lots of time into my hobby and snatching up bottles to build up for testing and eventually (soon) cull down to some favorites.
Nice to see others with an appreciation for this one. It pops up occasionally in a local drug store, for cheap, if it does I'll shoot you a PM and send you a bottle.
Correct me if I am wrong, but this is the one that has certain vibes to Irish Spring correct? (Not a bad thing, I love the scent of Irish Spring)
I ordered it, the similarities to TOF Chili got me interested so hopefully its good.
I would go with Play Intense and Rochas.
My thought too!
Would love to swap this for a little bit of VIW! BUMP
Did you have to bump every Zara Gold thread for this?
But no, they are not the same, I much prefer Aventus, and I have had Zara Gold in the past.
Great fragrance, I find that it gives me more compliments from Men, strangely enough.
I havn't tried it, but perhaps 24 Gold may settle for what your after?
Hard to find unfortunately anywhere west of Russia!
I sold my Escada Magnetism for a song, thankfully got it back from the guy I sold it to. I barely touch it lol
I found out about CH Men about a year back I believe from Youtube. It peaked my interest as it had some love on Fragrantica as well. I tried it on when I was travelling in europe and thought it was...
I found that Lanvin Arpege had a similar vibe.
I also thought it was good, but I would rather wear something like La Nuit instead of it.
I'm at around the 40 Bottle range right now, but about 2 months ago, I said to myself that I am going to buy anything that really interests me (within reason), test and then cull down. I would be...
I definitely think 1 Million is far better than Excellence EDP
Yes, I agree the sprayer doesn't really spray too much. I usually do two to the neck, and two to each wrist (on the same spot)
Good fragrance though, good lasting power considering its an EDC.
Definitely Pure Havane or Eau De Beux. The latter, even on the coldest days, I feel like it warms me. Amazing fragrance.
I personally really like Elixir, at first I wasn't crazy about it, but happy I gave it a 3rd wearing. Great Longevity and Sillage, and its a great "modern" (read. one million esq) interpretation on...
I really like this one as well, however, the longevity is definitely poor on my skin, and gets about 5 hours, with Sillage for around 2. Still worth a blind buy at the prices it goes for.
I was going to spray something but decided against it. My nose was a bit hurting after today. Need to give the senses a reset.
Interesting pick, I will have to revisit that one.
Happy you liked the Fantasy team aspect. That was my thinking so the posts would have a "disattatchement" from pretences about teh fragrance etc....
Just poking around on here I notice that compliments are always a nice side effect of this hobby. Some people take it more seriously than others, but I can pretty safely say that no one dislikes a...
Thanks guys for the input! Let me percolate a bit more and go with one of them soon. I am leaning towards Thalium, I don't know why but $20 is much more palatable than $30, go figure.
Everyone knows these I feel. That fragrance out there that has great reviews, or simply looks very promsiing, and much to your delight, is cheap! Well, relatively cheap. Cheap enough where you can...
Wow, a Lapidus with low Longevity and Sillage? This is a new one!
Thanks for the review!
I think Signature scent in the traditional mentality is that one fragrance that reminds people of you. I used to get this all the time, "I met this guy and he smelled like you, I couldn't get that...
So I got this in a great transaction with Silent Rich (A great user to deal with btw!), and I am impressed Scent wise very smooth. Something about it reminds me of Moschino Uomo, almost like an...
Good for them for creating quality fragrances at a solid price
Burberry London and TV are worlds apart but within the "same feel" if that makes any sense. Some others which belong to this are Eau De Beux, Tea for Two (Lesser so), and Spicebomb.
Its a good fragrance in my opinion, but I'm pretty much over it now.
I don't think you really need a number, and it depends strongly on the level of fragrance enthusiasm a person has. I had just Le Male for about 10 years and was happy as a clam.
Now I'm approching...
