To me it's like deciding between plague or cholera.
Yes, indeed!
I haven't smelled the "Cashmere Oud", but "Pure Oud" is definitley one of the better so-called Ouds, so my answer is yes.
Just saw the review on your blog. Sounds very good to me.
It's actually a shame that Hermes is more or less the only mainstream brand that still delivers good products. I have given up on Chanel...
La Via del Profumo's Oud Caravan-series features real Oud, plus the rest of the ingredients is natural and of the best quality.
Phoenicia Perfumes contain real Oud as well. One of the offerings is...
Wasn't LAVS a sort of room spray in the first place? Then they turned it into a perfume, and now they turn it again into a room spray?
Cool! Hope you will share your opinion with us.
I would rather say that compliments are a lightsaber with crossguard.
Haha! A true perfume enthusiast thinks of fragrances even on a funeral.
Wow! I love Bel Ami Vetiver and I hope this will be equally good. Thanks for the info!
I like Sausage but haven't tried Sauvage yet.
Creed is still the best, especially "Aventus".
TAWAF is the best Jasmine out there. It's THE Jasmine.
Danke für die Antwort!
Do I understand it correctly that the incense-perfume is basically an "incense-soliflore" or is this a composition with other ingredients?
Anyway, I contacted the owner...
Could you please describe Incense a bit more as I'm always intersted in everything "incensey".
I'm very curious about the new incense scent. I think somebody said that it smells similar to Norma Kamali. That would be great and if it's 100% natural that's even greater. I will look out for it.
A new project would be great! The precious Iris deserves to be presented in a spectacular way.
A question: Does Seawood contain Ambergris? I thought that it doesn't but I see now on the...
Yes, now that you say it, I also smell similarities to HK.
There is this sweet woodiness that both have in common. I guess that's the similarity you mean, right?
I will post a review...
That sounds great! I am very curious to hear your opinion on Tawaf because this is in my opinion the best Jasmine out there, but also a polarizing one. Anyway, have fun testing them all!
Fuck the Police.
Bel Ami Vetiver
I'm glad it's not Aventus by Greed. Somebody would start a batch variations thread for sure.
I have an imaginary friend. Does that count?
Has anybody actually tried this?
Just for the record: This is my 666th post.
Okay, I'm very interested in topics like death and decay. If a perfume could capture the smell of things long gone, the smell of the catacombs in Paris, if it could capture the atmosphere on a...
I wanted to post something but then I remembered your thread in the Lounge and thought it would be inappropriate.
Silver Mountain Water
That's basically me. No kidding!
I'm going to kill myself now because I own and use mostly samples. I can't take this lack of pride any longer. Thank you thread starter, you have shown me how useless I am. Goodbye world.
Congratulations! Now you can smell like a boring German.
There are too many. Endless list.
Reviews on Nero Profumo:
That's why "Oud pioneers" is put in quotation marks. Of course they didn't invent Oud but took it to the next level with new distillation techniques, cultivated Oud... and they made it popular in the...
Taha (Agaraura) and Ensar (Ensaroud) are "Oud pioneers" in my book, but certainly not this strange man.
I wear perfume because I like the smell but it doesn't enhance my mood. On the contrary: If I am already in a bad mood every perfume makes me feel even worse. In this moment I perceive it as an...
More or less by accident I stumbled over Naturparfum.net, a German perfume house that specialises in natural perfumes. The house is run by a lady named Annette Neuffer who is also a jazz musician. I...
Danke! Grüße zurück.
When it comes to perfumes I also draw parallels to the world of music. Modern synthetic perfumes smell very "loud" and "compressed" just like modern mainstream music whereas natural perfumes have...
Joking aside. I would wear something that isn't too distracting from the beautiful place you are going to, something light in an edc-style. I know that you own Lavanda Fizz, so that would be my...
Is it just me, or has the Male Fragrance Discussion Forum become somewhat meh?
I always perceived Avignon as very synthetic, almost like a cartoon version of church incense, so I'm glad to hear that LAVS doesn't have this synthetic vibe.
I'm not sure, I couldn't find it on the website the normal way, however when you type "iris di firenze" in the search field you are provided with a link to the site of Iris di Firenze where you find...
Rynegne, thanks for your impressions!
On the website you can find the descriptions including notes.
Yes, I have to wait for IHRAM as well.
Mark, both scents are very good. Gringo in particular is very powerful and complex, a lot is going on in this perfume, yet it's still seamless.
Thanks guys for your answers! Ordered samples of LAVS today. Very curious to try this one.
A question to the folks who have tried LAVS: How does it compare to NK Incense? Is it in the same league, maybe even better?
Wow! LAVS could be the perfume I have ever dreamed of! The name is a bit strange, though: If it's "Laus" then it means "Louse" in German. I think I would be embarrassed if somebody would ask me what...
Myriads of "Aouds". Not enough lifetime to try them all.
Though I like "Dark Aoud".
I just ordered a small bottle of IHRAM. It's a blind buy, so I hope I will like it. On a side note: I really love the name of the perfume. Although I'm not a Muslim the word "Ihram" sounds very good...
I think you would enjoy Oud Yusuf by Ensar Oud. It has a nice lilac-note, together with apricot and soft, powdery woods in the base. It is a light and "feminine" Oud with no...
I have to admit that when I joined Basenotes I thought that you are some kind of a troll. Shame on me and my apologies to you!
Another vote for Fico di Amalfi.
