    Re: Most versatile scents?

I like Jil Sander No. 4. As Quarry put it, it's not a fragrance that's peculiar in any way.

On me, Ivoire is a discreet, cool, non-emotional but sophisticated background fragrance. That type of...

    Re: Bandit: Declaration of Badness

Bandit is less about sophistication and more about attitude, which is why it still resonates strongly after all these decades. If anything, I'd say it's a better match for women now than 1949.

    Re: Long-lasting fragrances

Obsession is always an overnighter on me.

I don't like gourmand either, but one I find scrumptious will last a month on your clothes - the spicy, christmasy, delectable Dinner by Bobo. I wore it...

Re: What are your 3 favorite scents and why ?

As everyone is compelled to say, these are my three 'of the moment':

Czech and Speake #88 - a new love, thanks to Taolady. Very complex and well-made, its unfolding is like reading a novel.
    Djedi...

What do you wear to an ATV salvage yard? What goes with petroleum products, rubber tires, and weather-cracked naugehyde?
I was going to wear Eau Dynamisante, but decided I wanted something prettier...

    Re: SotD Sunday 3 June

Zenadora - I've tried it several times, and think it might be bottle worthy - feminine, sensual, lightly gourmand, comforting. It smells nice today - berries, elemi, tuberose, rose and patchouli....

Jil Sander #4 - I haven't worn it long enough to go through a bottle yet, but I know I'm in line for another one shortly.

Re: Similar to Iceberg Original ?

Not having tried Iceberg puts me at a disadvantage, but I notice that the creator of Iceberg also created Organza, a very popular light oriental, and Boss Woman. You could start with those.

    Also...

Re: ** TABU ** your opinions please

Yes, Ozkat, my associations with Tabu have also ruined it for me.

Too many stale bottles on too many dressers of my mother's friends, and even stale ones sitting on the store shelves. A cheap...

    Re: SotD Saturday 2 June

I wore Jean Nate for the Citrus SnS, but when that wore off I tried my new sample of Bryant Park by Bond No. 9.

I liked it at first - pretty and easy to wear, but now after two hours there's a...

Re: Just for fun: Give your fragrance a name.

I love the subtle, shifting, wafting incense nature of 'Let Me Play The Lion' but I have problems with the name. Though the name sort of drew me in, once I smelled it I kept wanting to call it...

I'm wearing a very plebian one today - Jean Nate - for several reasons.
1.) This is one of the few citrus fragrances I have with me today
2.) I want to put in a kind word for this inexpensive...

    Re: green

Old-style green fragrances relied heavily on galbanum, but I'm not always a fan of those - I like my galbanum heavily diluted.
One of my fave greens - Nanadebary Green. It's soft, pretty, and light...
