My apologies, hednic! That's the impression I get from your posts. I've never seen you say anything positive about a non French fragrance. Sorry for making that assumption!
You don't. hednic only likes French made fragrances, he dislikes fragrances from any other country. He judges fragrances based on where they're produced, not how they smell. If you wanna call that...
Oh, you don't know? When he's not reviewing cologne on YouTube, he's actually a molecular physicist. :)
Has it been reformulated? Andy has been very adamant in the past about the fact that it has never been changed, but who knows with all the new regulations.
i don't usually reapply, but I don't think there's any science to it. If you can't smell your fragrance anymore, then apply some more. Sounds like you're overthinking it.
Haha. You haven't a clue what you're talking about.
Have any info on it? The original was pretty subtle, which was part of the reason why I sold it.
He won't like it.
That's quite a lot of money to spend on a fragrance! :)
I agree with Tim. You've got sweet covered, time to look into other styles.
Hayari - Only for Him.
Time for some new friends..
There was also a guy in the Aventus batch numbers thread that found a 1oz of Aventus at Costco for $49.99. My Costco has 50ml Bleu de Chanel for the same price.
Can't see many people voting D lol.
Celtic Fire by Union
I win.
Nope, I got a split from Europe.
If they really wanted to, don't you think it would be rather easy for Creed to pinpoint exactly which dealers are selling product to the grey market? They don't seem to care, and why would they?...
Just applied this for the first time tonight. Extremely impressed so far!
This is my SOTE. Really impressed so far. I totally get the Guerlain vibe you were talking about, Mike.
Most of a fragrance's heat is lost through its atomizer, and the cap acts like a beenie in the winter time. Your GIT is probably very cold. Best wrap him in a blankie and set him by the fireplace...
MFK Aqua Universalis
So DEMON bought himself a bottle of Halloween man and October 31st is right around the corner. Did you plan that? :cheesy:
Congrats on the discoveries!
I can't imagine 2 sprays being too much of any fragrance, let alone a Creed. I do 5-7 with Aventus and it still feels underpowered.
So then why don't Creed stop doing business with retailers that constantly devalue their product and sell it to the grey market? Hint: Because they don't care. This business model has been in place...
Glad you're happy with GV, it's a great fragrance. I do find GV quite fresh, however, if you want to go even further in that direction, try Prada's Luna Rossa.
Wouldn't write off rose fragrances just yet. Rose certainly doesn't smell like BO. It's more than likely the cumin in Rose 31 that's giving you that impression.
My advice would be to slow down...
I was going to say almost every Jaques Bogart fragrance fits the bill. Ted Lapidus as well.
Hmmm. As I said earlier in this thread, conflicting reports. These were posted on Fragrantica:
Thank you for contacting Van Cleef & Arpels. We appreciate your message and interest in...
All year round. I don't find it heavy at all.
Disappointing run of the mill super sweet vanilla bomb. Limon Verde, L'homme Ideal ,and now this. That's 3 strikes in a row for Mr. Wasser. You're out!
Luna Rossa Extreme
Chanel PM Concentree
Ouch! I hope for your sake she doesn't read Basenotes or you may be looking for a new one sooner than you think!
Dior Homme & LDDM for me.
Quite a nice scent, even if a little sweet.
I think the reason it's not talked about is distribution. I've never seen it in a store. I don't think many people have smelled it.
That's hilarious. I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from laughing in his/her face.
I don't usually give them the opportunity to say something stupid. These two examples are about the...
^ Do. Macy's and Nordstroms not sell that particular batch of Aventus?
How do you know that the Arab retailers are taking a loss when they sell a bottle of Creed to the grey market?
While wearing Tobacco Vanille a buddy kept saying "who's smoking a pipe in here" "why does it smell like a pipe". It wasn't until I was driving home that I clued in that it was likely the fragrance I...
MFK - Aqua Vitae
These will work!
Flowerbomb is another that's quite popular.
I don't think it's that simple. If it was, then how do iris heavy fragrances like Iris Silver Mist, D600, L'homme de Coeur avoid being labelled as feminine or smelling like a women's make up bag? I...
Time and time again I see guys come here with the exact same first impression as you had, only to turn around and love the scent upon subsequent wearings. Try it a few more times before writing it...
You can buy your Creeds and Bonds from fragrancenet. They have much better prices than Costco, Winners etc. It doesn't make sense for Canadians to shop there as their shipping costs are astronomical.
Still wanting to try this one. Still haven't come across it yet.
The 14 indicates that it was made in 2014, and I believe (don't quote me on this) that the 01 indicates the first quarter. So sometime in Janruary-April 2014. I haven't tried it, but maybe post your...
Well, it only has one ingredient so...
I like it, but find it outrageously overpriced. Iso e super and I seem to get along well.
Tzora by Anat Fritz.
Also, Terre has apparently been reformulated (made weaker), so if you haven't smelled a recent bottle, do that.
My guess, not many. The recent Creed Acqua line was panned by almost everyone here. Not everything they touch turns to gold.
Cool. I look forward to your thoughts on the topic.
Care to share, or you would rather nitpick?
Do you have an opinion on the topic of this thread?
I'm not saying we have to take the person with the highest post counts opinion as gospel, I'm saying that someone who I know and have been reading their posts for a few years opinion matters more to...
OK, but perhaps he could find a fragrance that garners compliments that he actually likes.
I care about what other BN'ers think because it gives me an idea of what to try next. There are certain members here whose opinion I trust, and others, I don't. Ultimately the decision to buy, or not...
Don't overthink it, Its really not a big deal. Just confidently ask him.
Last week I asked a coworker if he had been working out because he looked like he put on some muscle. He said yes, and...
I have done it, and will do it again. Just ask, simple as that. I don't see anything gay or oddball about it.
Stay classy, Smelly!
Im getting them now.
Exactly, and Eddie is buying this fragrance and making threads about it because he got compliments from "the ladies". He has stated that he wasn't impressed by it, and that it isn't for him. He...
Not really. BN has a much higher male membership. Females in the mfd are few and far between. Only one female has commented ITT, and it was to moderate one of your posts. You would think that if this...
Indeed, and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is (or was) one of the highest rated shows on television. Ipso facto: most people have bad taste.
Women love all kinds of fragrances, niche included....
Would you expect many women to come to a male fragrance discussion board to express their dislike for a certain fragrance? And how many women have come here to sing it's praises? I'm counting zero....
This seems to be happening again today. Anyone else?
To further your point, Nu Be Mercury has elements (pun intended) of SM. Just sayin!
Is this an actual fragrance, or do you mean Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme?
Nice stuff. Not sure which one I like more, this or the original.
Tried it today, Arij is spot on. Smells just like Bleu but with a big dose of synthetic woody amber. Prefer the edt.
I tried it earlier, wasn't impressed. Doesn't stray too far from 1 Million territory. If you own and like 1 Million, I don't see any reason to buy this one. My impression was 1 Million flavoured...
I expect you to upload another pic on Sunday (both bottles of booze empty of course).
I can put 1 spritz of every fragrance I own on post-it notes and send them to you. How much is that worth?
CH for Men is the only one I'd buy. I'd opt for Avant Garde over Lanvin L'homme Sport.
Seems like you didn't like it at first, but your opinion changed with every compliment you received.
I haven't smelled it yet, but I'm not expecting much. Between the bad reviews, and the...
^ Actually there are some conflicting reports coming out in that thread now, and it's still listed on the VC&A website. I'd be very surprised if this one was discontinued, but I guess stranger things...
Definitely Dior Homme for me, although the current DH edt was made by Francois Demachy.
No. Smells mostly of cumin to me. I don't get any cinnamon.
Most people seem to have luck with the Dior boutique in Las Vegas.
Neat-o, but it's what's inside that counts.
L'artisan Passage d'Enfer
Impossible to answer. Nobody here has this information.
Not worth it, even at that price.
For the same reason I buy designer fragrances - they smell good to me, and I've decided that I like them enough to invest in a full bottle.
Ouch. Seems like the first misstep from this company. Appreciate the honesty, BB.
Lol @ the Bisgly comment.
They're both incense fragrances, but that's where the similarity ends. Bentley is sweet/spicy, and boozy. Carbone is dry smokey and woody. I prefer Carbone.
I thought you would say something like "ya, kicking ass...and smelling like it too!"
A missed opportunity, Doug. :)
