    DPG just doesn't work. Haven't tried the other two you mentioned but Benzyl Benzoate or Benzyl Salicylate can be used (unfortunately they have their own smell).

    Coumarin was the first one that sprang to mind for me aswell. Ambroxan smells sweet to me. I don't think Sandalwood Oil has been mentioned... or one of the sandalwood synthetics.
