I think, then, that it's Rykiel Woman (Not for Men!). If that's it, I do like this--though I don't wear it much--and though it has leather in it, it's tamed to a degree that I don't really think of...
Really have no idea, so I'll take a wild guess--is it maybe an Etienne Aigner?
Mmmmmm. . . How about Tova for A? I've never smelled this myself, but. . .
Just dropping in to say that sample A sounds a bit like AG Songes to me. But this is probably very far off.:)
Just dropping in to wish RIANNON a wonderful, fragrant birthday!!!!!
Wearing biehl-Mark Buxton 03
Had a great time getting to know people on the Emergency Board--no refund necessary!! This works beautifully for me.
It was Bois d'Orage (thunderstorm wood).
I love Moss Breches and Oud Wood--bought both of them!
Tabac Blond, Poivre, French CanCan.
honorable mention: Nuit de Noel, En Avion
This is going to be harrrrrd:
Annick Goutal - Songes EdP
Balmain - Jolie Madame
Bond no. 9 – New Haarlem
Bvlgari - Black
Caron - Tabac Blond or Poivre (sorry, impossible)
Chanel - Cuir de...
Here I am again with no stats. Repeats were
Andy Tauer Orris
Josef Statkus Incense
Chanel 31 Rue Cambon
Le Labo Rose
Parfumerie Generale Querelle, Psychotrope
Really like 31. I like the rest of them, too, except for Coromandel.
Well, I don't know what was at Harrod's, but two niche houses that closed are Gobin-Daude and IUNX.
Is it an Estelle Vendome? Love sixteen or Miss sixteen?
ELDO Secretions Magnifiques. But I think it's supposed to. The only "perfume" that ever turned my stomach, and the only one I ever had to wash off.
Congratulations to Riannon--a true teaser champ!!!!!!
(And thank YOU, Twolf: I learned much more about Rutelli and BP than I had ever known before!!:)
I don't know about that, Black Lady, I think you are pretty Queeny yourself!:)
. . . and the logic puzzles are a bit different, anyway!
Thank you so much, TWolf. This was a real mindbender! And I am especially glad I won because you declared me the winner of 96 before you posted it (although I don't see Choc here):), and we all...
All this time and no answers? Well, I've been distracted with work:), and this IS harder than your usual logic puzzle (more variables). How about this:
Well, I never count, but here are some that were in more-or-lessheavy rotation: Messe de Minuit (sometimes with Yatagan), Andy Tauer Orris, Fumerie Turque, Tabac Blond, JS Incense, Musc Ravageur
Here is a reference to it:
Jean Claude Jitrois had an unusual career path since he first began by psychology. In his early years, he taught psychology at Nice University. Also a clinician and a...
Yay! I think Mag got it!!!! Jitrois also sells “second skin” stage gear for rock stars, etc., so that fits too. Congratulations, Mag!
I have never heard of this perfume, but it sounds great! ...
OK--I have no idea what this is, and that makes me quite sad, because I am sure I would love it (although I'm still waiting eagerly for the new Chanel). I might have guessed many that are in the...
Oh, thank you so much, everyone--especially TWolf! This was an extremely informative teaser (and I loved the links).
No, Tovah, I am not familiar with Pani Walewska. I do know, though, that...
Oooo--I keep missing these! Pani Walewska Miraculum ?? (same Emperor as the Lady's--different love).
Riannon, FK 3 is my second love in this group! Scent sisters, indeed!
Hi Riannon! The SB is definitely my favorite too! I love it!
I thought this was a fabulous teaser!!! Hurrah for the Lady and the Wolf!
That's it, Lady in Black! An-ouch-ka--
--as in Burberry T-ouch, Lancoste T-ouch of Pink, and NR Far-ouch-e!!!
Yay! You got it! Congratulations!!! :)
Hmmmm. . . Patyka (6/chypre)?? I can make this fit your "3 parts" but it's really the name of the line, not the 'fume, so . . . .
Well, thank you, but I had some help, and I think Lady in Black has solved more than I--and Riannon, you got the last one! Congrats to all--and thank you to our wonderful Wolf!
Oooo--I've missed some of these. :(
Van Cleef! :)
I have to say that my favorites include many of those you consider "masculine." I really like all these, especially Encens et Lavande, Gris Clair, Cuir Mauresque. I also love Fumerie Turque, Muscs...
FdB is available at Amazon in the US for $65.00
[QUOTE=Bois et Musc]I do appreciate the artistic beauty of many classics like Carons Patous Guerlains but they 're not for todays women anymore, the negative response you 'd get is the real disaster,...
Yay for Lady in Black, who can think in Italian!
PINK SUGAR! (all-time winner)
Sables (well, this is borderline)
2020, Courreges?--but then it should say vingt, vingt--and I have vient, vient (comes, comes?) or vinet, vinet? what am i missing??
Ooooh, a new one!
Nine, Azzaro 9?
So hard to limit (only those in production now). . .
Chanel Cuir de Russie
Montale Aoud Queen Rose.
My 2006 discoveries: Parfumerie Generals (esp. Querelle, Cuir Venenum, Aomassai)
Le Labo (esp. Patchouli, Labdanum, Vetiver)
Andy Tauer Orris and Lonestar Memories
Guerlain Voilette de Madame and...
Thank you! Excellent way to start the morning, indeed!!
Merchant Loup: maroon, $8, wet camel, necklace
Second de Rigeur: yellow, $5, horseradish, cigarette lighter
Juror Fat: denim blue, $3, antifreeze, ink pen
Boys' Fairy In: dove grey,...
sorry--read it wrong--thought it said the cheapest one would smell of wet camel--bac k to the drawing board!!
1. Merchant Loop (maroon label) will have neither the added note of salami nor the pungent note of horseradish. The most expensive fragrance will have a chartreuse green colored label.
I love Habanita parfum, but there are several things to note:
--the parfum (IMHO) is MUCH better than the EdT
--it seems to be very different on different people. It's very sexy on me, but on...
Thanks so much!! And it's nice that others are doing them Teasers, Wolfie, but you are still the Queen!! :) ;)
I still say (with LiB) that it's Laura Biagiotti Emotion. The nose, Sophie Labbé, explains her birth sign as Twolf indicates:
Laura Biagotti Emotion?
Tom Ford's Black Orchid, perhaps?
Congratulations to Lady in Black, a Teaser Champion!!
Yay! More teasers! Welcome back!!!!
Oh, there are so many possiblities--but representing what I like best (and giving some variety):
Encens et Lavande
Rose de Nuit
Any of the...
In addition to those mentioned, Christian Lacroix Pour Homme EDT, CdG Kyoto, maybe Passage d'Enfer.
I received my samples a couple of days ago. The lion was smashed; the other two had leaked (antimatiere more seriously), but there was still enough left to test them.
I am in Boston, and I just received my samples (though I heard early in Oct. that they would be sent). I was luckier than Buzzcut: only one of them was smashed (Lion). The other two leaked...
You are right--it's not much use.:) It will zero in on a note or two and find others that have it, but that's about all!
Congratulations to YOU, Lady in Black. Here is a link to the version of M. Edwards' Fragrance Finder that I have, though it's clearly different from TWolf's, and therefore not as helpful as it might...
Well, I think Lady in Black deserves the congratulations; she really answered first. But my version of Michael Edwards recommends: D Diane von Furstenberg, Opone, Premier Figuier Extreme (again,as...
Well, I think Lady in Black (a wonderful detective!) has already found it: Hiroko Koshino (although if that's right, you have a different version of Michael Edwards from mine, b/c his choices are...
Sorry--the one I thought of won't work, so I erased it. Pretty stumped!
Oh, don't be sorry, Musse--it was great!! And I learned something from it, which is a lot of the point.! Thanks!
Thanks so much--great teaser! (though I must admit to spending an inordinate amount of time puzzling over small, brown, furry animals--some mammals, some not--before that was cleared up!:) I really...
Kookai Oui Non.
In addition to the ones that have been listed, you might try
Montale Oud Cuir d'Arabie (my DH's favorite)
SMN Peau d'Espagne
Andy Tauer Lonestar Memories
Le labo Patchouli (really...
Ok, I never even heard of Musse's perfume, so for all I know it's perfect. Mine is more of a wild guess (I do have reasons for it, but I'm kinda embarrased to elucidate): Elizabeth Taylor's Black...
Speaking of stupid, I missed the "not" when you explained it was "not going to be about an Italian fragrance"; hence my silly first guess. Now, how about Vicky Tiel?
K de Krizia?
All of the Le Labo scents are still missing, and I wanted to vote for one in the Awards. www.lelabofragrances.com
Wonderful teaser! Thank you TWolf, and thank you everyone. But, of course, I am learning too--and Lady in Black, you are amazing! You know all sorts of things I don't--and get all sorts of teasers...
About to leave for the day--How about Joseph Parfum de Jour?
LOL! I must have (downloaded) a different version of the guide from yours: Tuscany is on page 73 in mine. Hence my complete confusion.:) Congratulations to Lady in Black!!!!
Krizia Teatro alla Scala?
Wow! That was a hard one! Congratulations to Lady in Black!
Hmmm. . . well, I originally thought a Weil b/c of Cassiopeia, but I don't know them so well. Antilope, maybe?
Hi! Sorry to have been MIA (work calls sometimes:), but you have had many wonderful teaser-solvers (as well as many wonderful teasers, of course):)
Now, for this one--how about Scherrer Nuits...
Thank you!! I liked that one! I can't do accents on this site either, although I know how to do them on MUA and other websites>:(
Elle-Meme by Anne de Cassignac?
Congratulations to Musse!!! Yay!!
Sniffing was great--although i'm exhausted! How about Gaultier, then?
I Profumi di Firenze Florentia 16 (I profumi # 8)?
(in NY, sniffing)--Acqua di Parma Terre Rosse?
Rochas Byzance? Really leaving now. . .
Blushing--and still have no idea how to find the blushing icon--thank you!:) And thanks especially to the wonderfully creative and knowledgeable Twolf! So glad to see everyone here again! Leaving...
Histoire d'Amour by Aubusson? (flailing a bit wildly here; right notes and somewhere it said that the theme from Love Story was in G minor--no musician, I):)
Welcome back! Of course we've been missing them--and you! Hope you had a great vacation. I'm leaving soon myself, but I'll try--
How about Coeur Joie, by Nina Ricci (AKA Maria Nielli).
I think they are all very well done. My favorites are the two men's scents (l'homme de Coeur is a fantastic iris) and the beautiful, aldehydic L'Ame Soeur. They are all worth trying, though.
I am wearing Ambre Narguile. I don't usually care for sweet, gourmand-ish fragrances, but for every rule there is an exception--and this is it for me! I adore AN; it's my ultimate comfort...
Your arrangement is certainly right, Helg. There is no way asparagus and Pepper could be switched, b/c Glove can't have asparagus.
Oh, thank you so much! You are too kind *blushes* (I guess we can all do different things; I can't remember the blushing icon):) But the teaser was worth every minute you put into it; it was...
Oh, I love this, too! I recently got a sample from a generous swapper, and I immediately asked her to swap for more. I would still say my favorite SMN is Nostalgia--but this is a close second. ...
Adding this because I think I must have exactly the opposite skin chemistry (or tastes) from my teaser-solving friend, Lady in Black. I love Eau de Merveilles and I LOVE the parfum--but the Elixir...
Love many of the ones mentioned here. I would add Miller et Bertaux #3, Green, Green, Green. . . and Green, a very unusual and appealing fragrance. And Chanel #19.
Oh, good! Another teaser (I was gone for a few days myself):)
Orlane Be 21 (AKA vitamin B21):)?
[just at the moment:
A (romantic) dinner: SL Rose de Nuit or Soir de Lune
movies: SMN Nostalgia
concert: Caron Poivre
cafe: Le Labo Patchouli
holiday in the sun: TDC Sel de Vetiver or Miller...
Thank you--but as always, your helpful hints were. . . helpful! I was really stuck for a while! "Easy" is, I suppose, in the mind of the puzzler!:) (though, of course, it's a more well-known perfume...
