Depends on the volume and how it smells. If it represents a good deal then yes, I would buy.

Homme is discontinued also and does not have the same sharp freshness. As above try Bulgari Man Extreme or, for a twist with a big lavender hit, code ice.
Some of the above can be found in tubereuse criminelle (sp?)
Not tried so many, but of those I have then Gentlemen is the best and one of my favourites in general
Bulgari Man Extreme.
Something a bit different - Code Ice
Al Rehab Silver x 3
Can't say I prefer it to SMW, but the price differential for a maybe 75% similar fragrance cannot be ignored IMO
Nice but weak, weak, weak!
Beautiful, beautiful fragrance with v good longevity.
I have both and find both a bit 'plasticy'. PRB is more versatile IMO.
If it were a genuine 'you can only have 1', I'd go Hermes (I think!). Both are great and very different, so if you don't have this constraint, buy both.
Weak and expensive. There is much, much better available for your money.
Still a very subtle fragrance; longer lasting than the original but very close to the skin. The pine freshness of the original seems to have been abandoned. Different yet similar to the original....
Bulgari Man Extreme
I'll have to try it. Just because many people on here don't rate it, doesn't make it bad or controversial. As a business, Guerlain have to move with the times - I like MdM, but I bet they don't shift...
What's controversial about it?
2 bottles of Bulgari Black
Guerlain homme l'eau, Armani code ice
Xerjoff''s Gao would be my recommendation. Seriously dark, seriously saffron.
It's nice, but I have to admit to being a little disappointed with it. Must try again.
Jubilation, hands down.
Same here. Interlude (magnetic) is a fragrance Godzilla
XX Irony Alert XX
I have the magnetic cap. It was a long time ago that I first tried Interlude, but to me there is little difference to my bottle that I can recall. Perhaps it has been tamed but it is still nuclear...
Do I hear jangling in the distance..........
Interlude is my favourite
Another is TF's Amber Absolute if you can get a bottle
I don't claim to be correct here. I accept that my nose may be playing tricks on me, though I don't believe this to be the case. OTOH you seem to be incapable of accepting that other people may have...
I'll chip in. I also am a Chemist, though not a flavour fragrance chemist. Alcohols and aldehydes are present in alarge number of perfumes and as tensor has said, they are prone to oxidation. Now the...
Zafar by Xerjoff
I recently bought a bottle of vintage. All I can say is that the current bottle I have (2-3 years old) is an excellent rendition of the vintage. Very slightly less rich, but much closer than I was...
If you like a mundane fragrance then oud wood is your man.
Black XS. I'm in my 40's
This!! I probably have 70 of 75 ml left but wore it last night - heavenly
Kenzo pour Homme
Although I love the Colonia, Epic Man is about as close as it gets to Masterpiece for me.
Don't care much for Oud Wood, it is a bit wishy-washy and several leagues below the other two.
Glad you are happy with your purchases!
Parfumerie Generale's Coze is a nice coffee-woods combo
Has to be Encre Noir
Thanks for the suggestion guys. I have a few of those mentioned inc Lonestar Memories - I'm really after some more aggressive and less sweet. Think CdG sounds a good option and will have to look at...
As title really, any recommendations?
I find warrior by Boadicea to have long lasting citrus notes.
Same for me, unfortunately.
Welcome back Vibert! as others have said your reviews were excellent and I will be glad to have them back as a reference.
Am I missing something re your 'misdemeanours'? I don't remember seeing...
Agree, a v nice fragrance. I don't get rose as a major player, which is good.
Royal oud also. Far from my favourite but miles better than Dia. One of Amouage's worst for me.
Haven't tried Declaration L'eau.
You can't go far wrong with either Bulgari's Aqua or Cartier's Roadster IMO
Chris Bartlett on here - Pell Wall Perfumes - offers a bespoke service.
Congratulations to your son Chuck (and also to the rest of the family). What will he be studying?
Maybe you can experiment with some layering/combos of your existing fragrances.
Best of luck...
Roadster for me, but careful with the trigger.
I find OW boring and sans oud.
Bang on for me.
Yes, it is a modified version of Palace, the Creed only 'Royal Palace'
I have original DHI and DH from 2012 IIRC. To be honest I don't find either of them to be 'feminine'. I'm also in the growing minority that reckons DH is the least feminine of the two, mainly due to...
You seem determined to convince yourself it is fake so just send it back rather than repeatedly ask 'is it ok' or 'but.....'.
I get above average longevity and good projection also. Forgot about the chocolate note also - very nice. I just wish it were a bit more oud and saffron-centric, but then that might upset the...
I too have just bought Oud Alif. To me the oud is not so prominent and is drowned out by the leather and patchouli. It is very nice though, hence the purchase.
Manchester - Selfridges and Harvey Nichols
Trafford centre - Selfridges and John Lewis
Debenhams also stock a pretty good range in most stores.
Get in, get sampling and see what you like -...
I agree with this comment. If it is from a reputable seller and smells OK then it is very likely OK. Good choice BTW
Love it. Longevity is below average for me. Good projection for 1-2 hours, but I'm never bothered about that - the fragrance is for me.
No leather for me.
That is a very good price (by UK standards). As Hednic says, try it first. Even at that price point, I would not buy. It is the least inspiring Creed I've tried and is pretty boring in comparison to...
It's certainly not a monster in terms of longevity. It feels quite muted for the first 30 minutes or so then comes to life on me. I get 6-7 hours though it is quite light.
Nah, the Golden Unicorns that wrap them are like robots really.............
Completely agree, on all points. Poor QC and no QA whatsoever.
Good luck Jondedo, looks like you're in for a great sniff fest based on the many fine suggestions here. Enjoy and keep us updated.
Roadster is a good choice but be easy on the trigger. Same with New West.
I would suggest L'eau par Kenzo PH, has a beautiful fresh citrus (yuzu) opening. Certainly available for a good price in...
Much of a muchness I think. On me I recall ES having better longevity, though very close to the skin after 3-4 hours whereas PM just disappears completely. PM is nicer though.
Have you considered...
Very difficult this, for a number of reasons
Under rated (purely because it does not get much attention on here): Parfumerie Generale
Over rated (purely because IMO they rely on their name to...
If you get to try Intrigant Patchouli, maybe give Coze from the same line a go too. Has everything you're after - dusty/earthy patch, chocolate/coffee, bourbon vanilla, ebony wood, pimento, less...
Anyone tried this? Sounds quite interesting, will have to try it myself. Think the founder is ex SVP at Chanel.
Shay and Blue
Top - Oud
Mid - Dark chocolate, saffron
Base - Patchouli, leather
It's very nice in L'Eau par Kenzo pH also.
Easy for me
Probably in that order, but so little between them.
Why? All three are simply stunning fragrances, they knock me dead.
Tried this today. Have to say I'm very impressed and will be investigating further.
Just because you don't like something why insult others who do like it? It's called personal choice, my friend. I agree it is over-hyped and stupidly expensive but hey that's life.
I agree, but I did once buy a bag for a GF - never has so little cost so much. They appear to be very successful though and it is an 'iconic' brand.
Epic, Jubilation or Interlude.
Gold if you like florals
My recommendations would be
Welcome and be prepared for your collection to 'expand'
Though I've never experienced it personally, the Creed batch variation is alleged to be more severe than the Dior reforms. Plus there's a lot of Creed haters on here
Maybe summer vs winter wearing effects?
Beautiful fragrance
edit - have you tried DHI?
Has the market-place disappeared or is it just a glitch on my PC? Used to be splits, for sale and wanted sections........they seem to have disappeared
Edit-found it. Having one of those...
Not Manchester, but The Royal Perfumery in Wigan is superb. Has some older/less common designer brands as well as niche.
Surely someone can innocently start a thread as 'Where is the best place to buy X by Y?' which might solicit a response by PM?
Surely the market place sub-forum caters for the above anyway?
Pray tell me how so. Genuine question.
Also what has regular Egoiste to do with this thread? OP is asking about PE.
I have several small plastic atomisers (don't know which plastic). They seem fine. I have bought some glass ones previously and of the 10, I smashed 2 when trying to fill them. I think good quality...
Current and previous SO were a bit surprised initially, but no hate. I do get discouraged from buying any more though :rolleyesold:
Nothing like Declaration. Roadster is a beautiful cool mint-patchouli fragrance.
Have you tried Declaration Essence? Very nice flanker that has some similarity to the original but has a strong...
OP surely you should be making this purchase based on your own views? Have you tired one, both or neither of them? Which do you prefer?
Can never quite understand this type of thread.
This is my experience with these 2 beauties also. Leather Oud tantalises with the civet, takes it to the edge of good taste but never crosses the boundary - very good fragrance. I think the cumin...
No empties for me.
About 100-110. Cut down my purchases drastically over the last 12 months as I have more than enough to last my lifetime. If there's something I fancy now, I tend to buy a decant rather than full...
Apologies for drifting off topic...........caferacer, my friend has a project ongoing at the moment to build his cafe racer (from a Ducatti I believe). I had never heard of cafe racers prior to this...
I've never tried a roll on but certainly I have smelled the same fragrances 'differently' when applied by dabber vs atomiser, certainly in the top notes.
Not everyone is being condescending to you.
Amouage is based in Oman IIRC.
Noses vary and Christopher Chong is the creative director.
These do sound good, but don't know how easy it is to get hold of them in the UK. Nothing wrong with being a fanboy when the product is excellent - just don't mention J**h by name though
Oh yes! Many people get a strong 'baby powder' vibe; fortunately for me this is only borderlinefleeting and I enjoy Gold very much. It did take maybe 2 years to properly appreciate it and to brave...
