    Re: Best Tobacco-Honeyish fragrance

Phaedon: Tabac Rouge. I get more honey in this one than in Tobacco Vanille.
  4. Re: What else do you collect apart from perfumes?

Tobacco pipes and incense. I love all forms of consumption (i.e. sticks, loose powder, cones), but it's mainly loose resins/woods as I make my own incense pellets occasionally.

+1 for Tabac Aurea. A brighter and very interesting take on tobacco.
    +1 for Tabac Rouge
  10. Is applicator type ever a deciding factor when making a purchase?

I was having a discussion with a colleague the other day about different methods of fragrance application and it was asked if applicator type is ever a deciding factor when making a purchase? If you...
  11. Re: what do you research before buying a fragrance?

I agree completely. I've found that certain people that do fragrance reviews have the same olfactory palette as me and I can generally rely on what they say as far as a scent profile goes. From...
  12. Re: What is the best smelling fragrance from Ralph Lauren's "Polo" line?

    Double Black and Green.
  13. Re: The first Creed fragrance you smelled, and your reaction.

Let me clarify. It smells like a more thought out version of Grey Flannel. It's not as in your face or rough around the edges, but share similar enough notes that to me they smell like cousins. I...
  14. Re: The first Creed fragrance you smelled, and your reaction.

It was Green Irish Tweed and my reaction was "this smells like Grey Flannel."
  15. Re: Which Etat Libre d`Orange scent is the most conservative ?

    Re: Very first fragrance

Definitely Old Spice from my grandfather and Grey Flannel from my dad. Nostalgia is probably the only reason I have those in my wardrobe.

Re: The Darkest Day In Fragrance History...

"At least the upside would be everyone would stop f*cking talking about it.

You'd think Aventus was the only perfume out there...."

Re: Diptyque - Tam Dao reformulation

I own a bottle of Tam Dao from a few years ago and agree that they smell different. It's not objectionable though. After a short conversation with another member on here I came to the conciliation...

    Re: New York, New York

Was at Henri Bendel again yesterday. The sale has gone up to 50%off now. They still have the Maison Dorin fragrances, but what they have (on the whole) is beginning to thin out. Seeing that you are...

Re: Today I Bought: June 2014

Picked up Jovoy - La Liturgie des Heures today. Henri Bendel is having a great sale (50% off "third party" fragrance) and I've picked up three new bottles this week!
  24. Re: Whats the quickest amount of time you returned/sold a fragrance after receiving it and what was

    J. peterman - 1903. I blind bought it based on how great the notes were. It was shipped to me lightning fast and I immediately opened it and tried it. After being bombarded with a scent that's...

Re: Fragrances you swore you'd never wear?

I couldn't agree more! Now it seems like if I ever want to put a new bottle into my collection that I'm shelling out well over $100 a pop, but I'm enjoying every minute!

    For me it's rose and...

    Re: Smoky, tarry fragrance

  30. Re: Looking for that mechanic's garage smell...

I'd say that Montale's Dark Aoud has a pretty awesome oil/petroleum sort of element to it. Dry, bitter, tad of burn smell yet has a light airiness in there.

  32. Re: Surrati - Tom Oud - a gorgeous oud oil from KSA

It's a MUCH better interpretation! One I actually wear! I will say that the raspberry note that's in there is pretty predominant at first, but it does calm down rather quickly making way for the...
  33. Re: Surrati - Tom Oud - a gorgeous oud oil from KSA

I couldn't agree more. I was so excited that there could be such a wallet friendly version of TFOW. I ordered the 100mg canister and filled up a small roller with the oil when I got it. At first I...
