  1. Re: need recomendation (female fragrance)

Any chance you can have a poke about in the bathroom to see what she's been using and likes already?

If you're doing it completely blind, why not try something like Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel....

    Re: stinky toiletries / cosmetics

I just don't understand how some of this stuff gets into the shops. No one I have given this hand cream to can bear it. It's extraordinary and yet they seem to think it's fine. Surely someone in the...

    Re: Need recommendation for husband

I took a bit of a flyer when I bought Vetiver for my hubby, which was probably about five years ago when he was 31 too. I liked its cleanness though I wasn't sure he would, but he loved it. I'd say...

    Re: Terre d'Hermes

I always thought it smelled great - the hubby, however, banned it because to him it smells like rotten oranges. Guess some people can pick out the citrus note better than others.

    Re: banana republic but not

I always through BR was quite expensive for what it was. Have you tried Reiss or even MaxMara Weekend - you'll get the quality definitely, but will have to pick the sales for the same price though.

Just bought myself Benefit's Boi-ing and it's tremendous. Wish I'd got it years ago. :rolleyesold:

    Re: What's your fav mascara?

Clinique naturally glossy black. Have been using for years and it's great - no clumping or messiness.
I've occasionally tried others, on the strength of recommendations, but still keep coming back...

    stinky toiletries / cosmetics

This is not so much a question as a chance to rant, but bear with me.

I bought a handcream the other day, a 'natural' one loaded with lovely oils and goodness. It's terrific, works really well....

    Re: Scent for the workout?

I definitely have particular favourites for the gym, thought I really can't stand it if people wear too much.. Was driven off the treadmill by some hideous floral last week which seemed to soak up...

Re: your wedding and other landmarks

We're a funny sentimental lot, aren't we. It's clear how important fragrance is to our wellbeing and emotions, isn't it?

I stopped wearing my D&G because it started to feel a bit odd on me. It...

Re: Suggestions for first blind buy?

Yep, definitely carry on with trying out the samples before you buy. The forum is packed with people who have splashed out on frags they've admired on other people only to find they smell terrible on...

    your wedding and other landmarks

I was just wondering what you wore when you got married, those of you who have been hitched. Why did you pick it and do you still wear it?

I wore Dolce e Gabbana for women, because it was what I...

    Re: perfume reactions

I most definitely have bad reactions and they're not at all psychological. I am quite poor in handling colognes and once had an appallingly bad car journey when my great gran sprayed some 4711 quite...

Re: It's just not "me" perfumes

Great question - how long have you got. There are so many that I love on other people and just don't work for me.
I've yet to find a Chanel I like on me but did stick with and try No5, Coco,...

Re: What scent do you think you despise?

Patchouli - yeuch! Smells mouldy to me.

Also, vanilla, if it's dominant and I can pick it out.

Worst fragrance ever - 4711. Classic or not, it smells terrible to me and gives me a migraine...

  20. Re: Which scents chicks dig/females love/blah blah blah

This is such as interesting question and there are so many ifs and buts that go along with it - particularly the associations you form with a particular scent.

In my view there's nothing, NOTHING,...
