V for women by Clive Christian
I recommend the following:
Tiffany for men
Chanel pour homme concentree
Creed original vetiver
"I've heard that the concentree version isn't as good." That's a whole load of bollocks, you really need to sample it and draw your own inference...although it is different from the original, it is...
That was a very nice review :)
Habanita by Molinard
Floris Mahon Leather....Happy new year
I'm so excited, I can't contain myself...
Yatagan by Caron
Day: Tiffany for men
Night: Trumper's sandalwood
Mitsouko eau de parfum
This exactly mirrors my thoughts.
I think you're in for a long wait...
Guerlain Shalimar EDP
Mitsouko in the morning/Trumper's Sandalwood in the evening.
Agreed. It is equally valid to ask "Which Niche fragrances are equal or better than Designer house quality?"
$395 for 50ml? What's this world comming to?

Czech & Speake fragrances are of cologne strength.
Cologne & Eau de Cologne do not mean the same thing.
Cologne is jargon which could be used to describe Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum or...
I think you mean to say cologne rather than eau de cologne...
Longevity and sillage are respectable.
What a Needless Markup!
Good observation, let your nose be your pilot...
Blenheim Bouquet; make them know who's boss (or who's the daddy), they will be overwhelmed & intimidated by your presence, & drop charges in no time....
By coincidence, I'm wearing VC & A pour homme today, I can only echo what's been said above...
If you're looking for something with a very serious edge to it, then VC & A pour homme should be your...
I sampled this fragrance yesterday at the Regent Street store, and I'm afraid I don't share the excitement/praise lauded on Sartorial, there is nothing special about it...
Town & Country by Crown Perfumery & Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet will definitely be strong contenders....
Please exercise some restraint, I enjoy reading Pluran's opinions (+ reviews) & that of yours, and I wouldn't subscribe to censorship in any shape or form...
Town & Country by Crown Perfumery
Pour Monsieur Concentree
Lorenzo Villoresi Musk
No I don't. To avoid discordance, Its best to leave the alchemy to the experts .
Blenheim Bouquet by Penhaligon's
Town & Country by Crown Perfumery
No.74 Original by Taylors of Old Bond Street (previously marketed as Royal Yacht)

I chose the rather elegant - Guerlain Mouchoir de Monsieur because the lavender & civet notes are not as pronounced as that in Jicky & I feel the Caron offering is a rather bland fragrance. The Civet...
I voted for 'Vetiver Extraordinaire' due to the bracing quality of the Haitian vetyver.
Feuilles de Tabac
Both offerings are good, but I much prefer the mineral-like quality of the 1948 version.
I popped into L'occitane this evening to try this fragrance, all I can say is that this is not my cup of tea...
Hey Mario, I thought that was a spoof! So 'Mojo' really exists & as of this date, it boasts 6 out 6 positive reviews! As an aside, there is another strangely named fragrance named 'Aunt Caroline's...
I've pondered over this topic for awhile and It rather saddens me when an illustrious fragrance is reformulated to a resemble a shadow of its past self, however there are a few exceptions when a...
Try Sud Est by Romeo Gigli, I actually prefer it to Yatagan.
I trust we are not confusing a 'cologne' with a 'eau de cologne' strength, the concentration of oils for a 'cologne' strength can vary from 'eau de toilette' strength to 'eau de parfum' strength. The...
Guerlain Vetiver/Green Irish Tweed/Tsar
I'm also gagging for this...
Joop! Homme makes me feel sick to my stomach, so i'm afraid I can only show you 'hatred' for this fragrance...
What! I would have glady paid to take it off your hands
Patou pour homme prive
It is indeed...
Scent, thanks for sharing your experience with us. I think you covered a lot of ground, did you manage to make it to 'Le Senteurs' in Belgravia? Also, did you venture onto the perfumery section in...
I haven't posted on the female section in awhile, what an unusual title, I like it, like it, like it, moreso I'm a huge fan of Marvin's. My advice would be to wear whatever makes you feel sexy, If I...
Fahrenheit is a classic scent, the key to using this fragrance lies in its application, its beauty shines when applied sparingly, however if not applied in moderation one is bound to experience the...

Royal Bain de Caron
Scent Intense by Costume National
There are quite a few contenders, but from the top of my head I'd pick CK1
Howie, Gucci Envy is not what I regard as a powerhouse, at its best it is a mediocre woody oriental which is rather too sweet for my liking.
Do yourself a favour - visit House of Fraser or...
jbthorpe, vetiver is an acquired taste & it has different nuances, it would be rather disingenuous of me to make a recommendation without you providing a specification of your needs, but please read...
I couldn't have put it any better.
A few funny comments in this thread, but your response is classic!
The most Aristocratic Fragrance?
A toss between the following for the old Aristos:
Blenheim bouquet or Hamam bouquet by Penhaligon's
Town & country by Crown Perfumery
Taylor of old Bond...
Possibly No.74 by Taylors of Old Bond Street. It was once marketed as "Edwardian Classic" by the now defunct 'Royal Yacht' brand. I have "Edwardian classic" in my bathroom cabinet, but I seldom wear...
I spoke with a Floris SA awhile ago & I was advised that the fragrance will gradually be phased out.
Very well said!
There is no such thing as the 'best' citrus fragrance, I think it is much more appropriate to ask for a consensus amongst a given quorum.
Try Vetiver by Adolfo Dominguez.
There are very few stockists, but the ones I know of are:
Floris (Jermyn Street + mail order service)
It is with deep regret that I would like to inform you of the untimely demise of the venerable Floris Vetiver.
In response to the thread below "They Can't DISCONTINUE this!!! Are They Out Of Their...
A word to the wise!
It is available in their flagship store & the sloane street branch, it is up to you to figure out, whether you interpret this as being or being not in production.
I was in the dunhill store about 3 weeks ago, & both the 1934 & edition varieties were available; I believe both are produced by procter & gamble, so this implies a yes.
Exactly my thoughts; Town & Country by Crown Perfumery is in a similar vein.
IMO none from your list is overrated
Scent intense by CoSTUME NATIONAL
I wore it yesterday & it has a lot of tenacity, thus one has to be mindful to apply sparingly. It is definitely one of the greats!
Royal Bain de Caron
"Re: Perfume culture = gay culture ?"
i'm afraid this is utter rubbish
I last saw it at Allders in Croydon, a few months ago, it is quite a rare find...
Timbuktu by L'Artisan
Greenbriar by Caswell Massey (the vintage version)
Congrats & I wish you good luck in your endeavour.
I would recommend you to just be yourself, I personally would indulge in Crown Perfumery's Sandringham, in respectable measures.
As per what...
