Well chosen and enjoy!
Yeah, more than one but I really cannot recall what specific bottles I am referring to. It is strange, I agree as it should be on the botle as well!
I have a vintage 50ml spray of Azzaro pour homme....
I once had a 100ml GPH1 (100% real) but the ''ribbed aluminium metal'' finish around the sprayer got stuck in the cap and was hardly to be removed anymore and my sprayer looked like this as well.
How should I know? lol All I know that I also have bottles (can't recall which now) with a batch-code on the box but not on the bottle.........
Get the Profumo which is the best smelling and longest lasting of them three imo. (also no egg-smell kind of off note as some say the Essenza has)
I never saw a fake Azzaro pour homme and if it was it would certainly be a 100ml and not a 50ml (imo).
It smells like it should?!, so no worries.
Agree 100%! Lovely stuff and with a little fantasy it smells a bit like a lighter and way less spicy Amouage Interlude to me:o
What I love on my girlfriend are:
- Estee Lauder Private Collection
- Sensuous Noir
- Herrera for women
- Herrera 212 Sexy
- Clinique Happy Heart
- Teint de Neige
- L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme
- L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme Summer Editions 2009/2010
- L'Eau Bleue D'Issey Pour Homme
- Nuit D'Issey pour homme edt
To my knowledge the only faked Joop Homme is the 125ml size and not the 75ml.
The one you show is original vintage 75ml. 1 spray will be enough to let u know if it is fake or not, lol.
Own a 15ml decant of Faqat Lil Rijal and for the money this is very good imo! It is a 1-2 spray fragrance only, that strong, and (if having to compare) has some similarities to DSQuared Potion Royal...
No clue what you mean (by 'that I would know exactly') and I already said you had a current version of CW:o.
I only meant you must be the only one getting 21 hrs out of this stuff...........(which...
- Guerlain Homme L'Eau
- Rochas eau de Rochas pour homme
- Revillon R
- Lanvin Oxygen
I guess there is more something ''wrong'' with your nose, lol! You must have a dog's one (no offense).
I guess you are the only one who gets 21 hrs out of current Cool Water. I get 6 hrs tops no...
Depends where you live I suppose..............
Here all the Adidas fragrance stuff is often discounted and you'll get two for the price of one. That way a 50ml edt + 50ml aftershave sells together...
About 2-3 hrs max on me (heavy applied) but you can strengthen them to use the matched aftershave as well.
Regarding smell (they all perform about the same to me, meaning like an edc) the following three to me stand out from the rest I ever smelled:
- Sport Field
- Ice Dive
- Fresh Impact
- Mancera Sand Aoud: Just like Ferrari Essence Oud, the perfect Oud fragrance to me! An extremely good performing fragrance but without the Oud being a too prominent player in the orchestra.
Chopard Noble Cedar is wood wood wood to me...........
Monotheme Leather: Extremely pleasant stuff for a bargain price! Compared to TL this is not as loud (still way above average performing) does not have the raspberry note nor the ashy one and is like...
This is 100% true imo as I do it often myself and the result was much longer longevity! This way less can be asbsorbed by the skin and the scent will project longer and will get increased longevity....
Good point, it all should start with this!
To me Fahrenheit is best liked by me out of these but I cannot comprehend what that means to you, if you know what I mean:p
+1 My thoughts exactly!
Just mainly dark wood and vetiver to me mixed to perfection and giving a luxuruous smell (simply said). My gf loves it on me but I agree it is a fragrance that must not! be...
You are comparing apples with oranges and current stuff vs old stuff (date of existence)............I suggest to read the reviews carefully and make up your mind then.
It has absolutely no use (imo)...
- CK One Summer 2012 and 2013
- Eternity Summer 2015
- Tabac edc
- Aqua Quorum
- Quorum Silver
- Irisch Moos
- Playboy Vip
- Adidas Fresh Impact / Sport Field / Ice Dive
- Blue Stratos
- Caractere edt
- Lomani pour homme
Great review, thanks! I really love the stuff and when using just one spray it is more versatile than you think (imo).......
You say €145 for 110ml but I guess you meant 120ml? (it comes in 14ml,...
- Kiton for men
- Tom Ford Grey Vetiver
- Tom Ford for men
- Bvlgari pour homme pour le Soir
- Chanel Platinum Egoiste
- Baldessarini Strictly Private
Nice, very nice, congratz!
The ''it is not for sale'' sentence is even written in Dutch on the package (the one most below) :p
I guess Tabac edc and still like it a lot!
Own a 50ml bottle that is about 5 years old and while not that heavy and dark the vintage once was, this is still a very nice and pleasant scent to my nose.
For vintage memories I have my Caesar's...
Own it and like it a lot! A very gentle woody-spicy scent with a rose note I can handle. Doesn't last long but that is not always needed.
Gift sets (with deodorant or whatever) are never fake (IMO)!
+1 for the original in vintage formulation! Sublime stuff!
Yes, I think so too but the one I own is the splash. I cannot find that quick a picture of a vintage spray bottle by the way.....
@Colognnoisseur: Thanks, lol I hope you have the lasting, strong...
This is the (first) reformulation and by no means the original! The original has Eau de Toilette written above Chanel on the front of the bottle and was in 75ml splash format and quite different...
In quite a bad way:
- Halston Z-14 (current)
- Aigner No. 1
In a very good way:
- Kouros (vtg)
Designer: Oscar for men
Niche: Piper Nigrum
Both are strong on the black pepper part but do smell good (imo)!
My favorite aftershaves (use one of them almost everyday):
- Floid Vigoroso
- Floid Suave
- Irisch Moos
- Paco Rabanne pour homme (vtg)
- Prince Classic
- Gillette Cool Wave
To my nose it is definitely ''smokey'' (Gris Claire) but there is also a lot of tonka bean in the drydown. Very good fragrance nevertheless!
- Chanel Allure Homme Sport
- Issey Miyake pour homme L'Eau D'Issey
- Revillon R
- Chanel Platinum Egoiste
- Aqua Fahrenheit
- Givenchy Insense Ultramarine
- AdG Profumo
- Cool Water
Dose yourself in Interlude and maybe do a search next time for hundreds of threads about same subject!
+1 Biggest stash: Kouros vintage, Cool Water vintage and D&G PH vintage
Op does not know how to post a link (he told that himself in another thread) so I doubt he can post pictures.
Not every fragrance has the ''easy to pull off nozzle'' and the Travalo's are only 4ml so if you need more you can better buy the 10ml glass ones (covered in plastic) which are 1/10th of the price...
I always use a (plastic) funnel which works perfect. (softer sprays won't waste any juice)
No it is nothing like Eau pour homme at all: here a link of the main thread about this fragrance:
My Top picks from...
Yes, we have some Bargello stores over here in the big cities selling copies for Ç16.99/50ml in their own bottles (all legit) and some are extremely well done imo and all are edp strength. Good thing...
The 2009/10 version was very good but what is on the market last years, sold as La Nuit, is smelling different and not lasting at all!
Tested it many times in different stores and even owned a...
Very nice catch and (assuming they are full) they will last you a life time!
I have the exact the same text on my 1983 100ml spray tester bottle, only that one has only 30ml left, lol!
On a lighter (leather) scale Aqua Fahrenheit is brilliant imo!
Leather: AdP Colonia Leather, Knize Ten, Cuir Ottoman (all different but all 100% leather!)
Vetiver: Guerlain Vetiver, Encre Noire
Tobacco: D&G pour homme, Versace The Dreamer (both in first...
- Grey Vetiver
- PdN New York
- Kiton Men
- YSL L'Homme
- Bvlgari Homme Pour Le Soir
- Prada Amber pour homme
.....and 1 tiny spray is all that it takes to find that out..........
@cytherian: what do you think about my batch-code? (for all three pics, see other thread or ''My Collection'' album where I...
To me it is also the best of the three for colder weather (the best of the three by far anyway for me).
All year around scent, mainly for warmer evenings, but will do well on colder weather for sure...
Those early bottles were not faked for sure................there are even hardly any fakes of Kouros on the market as far as I know.
I have a 1982 splash edt bottle with a 10-number serial number on...
Yes it is..............
This one is just a tad less bright and is more soapy (also a bit less strong and projecting but still very strong!) than last formulation in the leaf patterned box and...
+1 That is the same feeling I experience; not dated or whatsoever at all but a modern take on a barbershop fragrance with a hint of vintage.
+1 Was thinking exactly the same..............
4th thread about this subject within a week!:p
I'd say, just leave the oldies as they were as they were bought by people who loved them like they were and do not need one adjusted to modern tastes or whatever. If doing so give it a new name...
Original to me but being layered/blended they perform also very well when you want is less strong than the original or a bit stronger than the Sport version.
To make it more appealing to the masses? You really think that?
The only thing most houses think about (besides IFRA restrictions) IMHO is how to make most money, that is why they water it down as...
To me Cosmair and current Polo differ by miles and miles but to each his own. It is not about smell alone but also about performance and how it wears on you!
Best examples of reformulations getting...
Niche: More than one
I own two original vintage of which one is maybe a bit rare. It is a 100ml splash and has exactly the same bottom metal plate as my 1983 spray bottle but this splash has a batch-code that I did not...
What gives it away is the way too clear glass bottle and the fact they wrote 75ml on the bottom instead of 125ml but you are right that the i and the L of ''toilette'' are both wrong, lol.
The i is...
Yours is way clearer than the one on the first picture (it is a complete ''see through'' being almost transparant which CW is not, especially not from a distance) which is a legit one as it has the...
My vintage bottles are not that much ''see through'' at all like in last picture. This looks way too clear imo. (I got 3x 125ml Lancaster Demonstration bottles with way darker blue glass).
Yeah the edt is more brighter and earthier while the PP is denser and woodier.
The edt gives me also on average 6 hrs longevity or so but it depends which bottle I use as I have two 100ml's and 1x...
Without looking at ROTLS you can at once see this is older stuff due to the fact that is has the older cap and ''Eau de Toilette'' is written on the bottle (as is ''Christian Dior'' in full name)....
Regarding this thread I guess you must say which D&G PH version you mean in the poll as there are three and all are quite different to say the least.
To me: DG PH Itally and German...
There is no edp of this one.
Op: Do a search as well as this thread has been done many times before, so you can get way more info even!
To me edt as the Pure Parfum is way too close to the skin...
Great work as always!
On me though the second formulation is considerably stronger in projection and longevity compared to a 2007 bottle which is very much watered down compared to older stuff...
I like Touch the most. A very good sligthly powdery citrus-violet-pepper scent on a woody base that smells masculine, alluring and fresh.
Brit is ok but a little too much baby powder like smell and...
Solution sounds simple to me: buy Boss Bottled Intense.
That one lasts and smells better than the original (imo).
Azzaro Chrome (among others)
Christmas 2012 already to be exactly:p
I guess you missed this (current) thread:
I also own exactly this bottle (lay out and text written on it) but mine is from 1989 and on the bottom is written Parfums Corp. (the 1986-1993 period).
How does the metal plate on the bottom of...
On the tekst on the back of my 1983 100ml spray tester bottle it is even written by YSL that there is incense in Kouros.
- Chanel Platinum Egoiste
- Revillon R
- Aqua Fahrenheit
I agree and think only ''one part'' of Sauvage is pretty similar to ''one part'' of BdC but further they differ completely.
I also find it a good mainstream release and though not the quality of...
Looking at the box which I did not before, this is imo correct!
It would be a bargain if it would've been a 100ml bottle.
Edited: This is indeed the transition bottle you mention! I first thought it was a Parfum Corps. but I did not even look at the package which indicates you were right Petukchele. Late nineneties...
Guerlain Vetiver for me but ''apples and oranges'' indeed.
Could get a bottle added to a lot I bought for only Ç15 extra so I gave it a shot, however I already tested the Cologne version a few times in the stores and did not dislike it tbh.
It is indeed a...
Yes of course less civet compared to original vintage Kouros but some say (not you) it does not have any civet at all which is definitely not true.
The Parfums Corp. Fraicheur version has more of...
Maybe you own the bottle on the pic for 12-15 years but it is certainly a bit older than that! (early or late 90's if I am not mistaken)
You probably smelled a L'Oreal version (white shoulders) and not a silver shouldered bottle, not to speak about real vintage as that one has all but cheap/bad smelling ingredients imo as you say in...
XXV and Interlude for me
I thought by treasures you meant a fragrance that is not to get anynmore and one you really cherish.............(misunderstood, but still Kouros vtg for me!)
The first version of Fraicheur (the Parfums Corp. one) is (imo) just a tad lighter than eg. the 90's formulation of Kouros and has still a fairly dose of civet in it. The later version of Fraicheur...
I own the original and Sport version and for occasions I want just a bit lighter version of the original but stronger than the Sport (eg. in spring or fall) I filled a 10ml atomizer with 2/3 Sport...
My real treasures are my vintage 100ml Kouros bottles. Especially a spray and a splash bottle, both from 1982 as well as my 2 Kouros Fraicheur bottles (100 and 50ml). Most are over half used already...
+1 For me it is THE best, especially in early 80's formulations.
Get Gillette Cool Wave aftershave as it is awesome (imo)!
Cleanest: Revillon R
Dirtiest: Leather Oud (but in a good way!)
Too much cloves ruins it while just a normal dose can be very good!
