I'm not a particular fan of the L'Homme series but I do think La Nuit is quite nice.

I'm not a particular fan of the L'Homme series but I do think La Nuit is quite nice.
I rock it often and I'm a 24 yr old straight cis-male. No old dude vibe at all. I love the dry down as it's semi gourmandy. A complete turn around from the top notes which was off putting when I...
In no particular order, my favorites as of right now:
Osswald Aoud 1
Armani Prive Rose d'Arabie
Tom Ford Noir de Noir
HdP 1899 Hemingway
I've found that most people that ask me don't care for anything past the brand especially if they can recognize it. For example, when I responded, "De Bachmakov by The Different Company" they just...
It's often a hit or miss with those ma and pa fragrance stores in terms of them knowing fragrance prices. The one near me has a few gems as well. I got a 1.7 bottle of Gucci PH I for about $60. He...
Bruckner Aoud 1
5 O'clock Gingembre by SL
It's a great alternative to La Nuit (better for the wallet too). No similarities to TdH though.
Agreed. OP was just asking for people's personal association which varies from person to person. I didn't see people getting butthurt over the "Review a fragrance with a jpg/gif" thread where some...
White florals and aldehydes tend to remind me of grandmas.
Not sure yet. Probably an oriental of some sort.
I had owned Drakkar Noir and Preferred Stock prior to being a serious user, but when I lurked BN and found Burberry Brit, that was when I started testing and buying a new bottle every month it seemed...
The first time I smelled New Haarlem, it was so edible I just had to try a bit of it. I sprayed a bit into my mouth and it did not taste like it smells. I don't recommend ingesting fragrances.
I love how the original post was just asking for age/orientation/and race if you were comfortable, and it somehow turned into me learning about people's political views as well as their pant size....
I sampled it earlier this year and didn't think much of it. Was a bit disappointed actually, but I think that was because I sniffed it alongside APLS, APOM, and Oud. I'll have to revisit this one.
I can try my best to get it before then, but currently my work+school schedule overlaps with the post office hours except for Monday afternoons. Sorry!
Trying to clear a few bottles off my shelf. All prices include shipping. Pics available upon request. Fill levels are conservative estimates (so actual might be higher). I ship on Mondays (once...

Love the seller's description: I Do not Sell Imitations or Knockoff, I sell only 100% Authentic ,genuine brand name perfumes ,colognes and cosmetic.
What goes on through my head when SA's are insistent on helping me.
Chanel Egoiste is very smooth and creamy to my nose.
Nay if you want the yay.
Congrats to those who made it through! I purchased only one bottle which was a birthday gift to myself so I'm not going to count that...
How did everyone else do? Survive Black Friday deals?...
It's always nice to smell some designers. There's always some hidden gems if you know where to sniff.
Cafe Aoud is a nice one that's not rose-oud.
I thought it smelled ok. Didn't expect anything else from the Polo line though.
I don't wear anything. The food is the main event, and I don't want my nose to be distracted.
If the price tag isn't too high for you, give Tom Ford's Noir de Noir a try. It's one of my favorite florals.
I wear pretty much anything in my wardrobe to school/lectures. However, I try not to wear anything while I'm in clinic because I work face to face with a lot of patients. I'd rather not have a...
I enjoy a lot if not most of his offerings. My favorite would have to be Oud and Lumiere Noire.
Having tried all 4 but only owning Oud, I would say the original is the best. It's different take on other ouds that have been done to death. It's warmth and sweetness is lovely for colder weather. I...
Do you think this is what looters are wearing in Ferguson?
I think that's a sign you're a fraghead. I do the same but then I look at my budget and my other bottles then I'm briefly relieved. Until the next time I reach for that same bottle lol
MI was my first. But I must have gotten a salty batch because it stung my nostrils. Thankfully my decant is more fruit heavy.
Back when I was just getting into fragrances, I watched mostly his and Kerosene's videos. I stopped watching marcs because honest they were getting too long and talking too much about the packaging...
I've had fragrances associated with bad breakups so I guess there's that. But after about a few years, I'll bring it back out (if I haven't already gotten rid of it) during lots of fun celebrations...
Besides a bottle of GPH II for my birthday (which I think is a special occasion so it shouldn't count...) I've been good so far, halfway through No!vember.
I like Aoud Cafe from this line. I don't think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I quite like it a lot. That's the only one I've tried from Mancera though.
If you mean uncommon to the folks around me, then almost everything i wear is uncommon. However, if uncommon compared to basenoters, then most of what I have is pretty common.
I have a 4 shelf storage thingy (words cant come to my mind right now). When it gets crowded, I know I have to sell or get rid of my neglected scents.
Ambre Nuit is a great one! Hard not to like it.
Hello all! Today is an Armani Prive Rose d'Arabie type of day.
I would say Jardin d'Amalfi. Excellent.
Noir de Noir
Yes if what you want are basics...
Midnight in Paris~!!!!
parfums1 had a 20% off sale last year. I snatched me a bottle of Hemingway during that sale.
I've also heard the bright light technique.
I have owned decent amounts of all 3 and while I wish I could pick all 3, if I had to choose, I'd pick New Haarlem.
La Nuit would suit your purposes well. Welcome!
If you sign up for their mailing list, they send you codes for 20% off periodically, usually during holidays or change of seasons. I bet you can probably find codes on those discount code websites as...
Probably Noir de Noir, Lumiere Noir, Midnight in Paris, and Egoiste.
If oversprayed, it can be cloying but I don't mind smelling this on other people. It's a nice fragrance. Plus it makes whatever I'm wearing stand out even more. Like when I stand next to an uggo, I...
I guess I'm in this boat. But this is more due to the fact that I don't get to sample or sniff different scents all that often (budgetary and time constraints of a grad student). If I hear Dior is...
Haven't come across many ginger scents but I do really like 5 O'Clock au Gingembre by Serge Lutens.
Averages just a little over $100. But I often buy 2 or 3 bottles in a month, then go a few without buying anything. For October, I spent $0.
Haha! I showered myself in Phoenix back in the middle school lockers. I'm gagging just thinking about it.
No backups. I'll never finish any bottles the rate I'm going.
I had a bottle of Preferred Stock in high school (lol the memories it brings) and a 30ml bottle of Drakkar Noir in college. I came here because my bottle of Drakkar ran out and was looking for a...
I just received my sample today and to be honest, I wasn't impressed. Granted I've only smelled it on paper. I hope to give it a proper test after I shower tonight but I was really hoping to be...
I've got around 25 bottles and lots of samples over ~4 years now. If you have 40 already and have only been in it for a few months, my advice would be to slow down and see what you REALLY like...
Brooklyn by Bond no 9 for me. I'd be ok with it. Not particularly my favorite but I wouldn't hate my life.
Jardin is a solid 9 for me.
I never spray Lumiere Noire by MFK on my neck not because it's too strong but I become anosmic to it very quickly otherwise.
Does not exist.
It'd be safe to say no one around me smells like me. Basenote favorites, hell my favorites, vary a lot from the general population.
From Chicago so I can't help much, but I am jealous of the grand prix you guys have this weekend!
If I won the lottery perhaps, but I don't have any desire as of right now.
Dior Homme Intense
Opium Pour Homme by YSL
Mine are in a shelf (out of box) in my closet.
I'm looking for the following boxes:
4.2oz VC&A Midnight in Paris EDP
2.5oz MFK Oud
1.7oz Bond no 9. Brooklyn
And a cap for a 1.7oz bottle of Dior Fahrenheit would be nice too.
Jokes on you! I don't have to worry about that because I don't have an SO!
Someone please date me.
Joking aside though, my choices don't "hinge" on their reactions but it helps if I'm...
I don't know if Etsy's any good but why don't you get a split with one of the established members here? I think for $83, you can get a 1.7 oz decant.
Bulgari Black is similar to it. I think it's still in production.
Creed Virgin Island Water
Yup. Kind of like when a person dies (seen especially with celebrities/politicians/sports stars), we kind of forget all the dick moves they did but only remember the great things they did.
Nope. I used to be really embarrassed to talk about it to my friends. But I have found out my friends are intrigued and love hearing me talk about my collection. Especially helps when we have parties...
I have a bottle of TdH from around 2011 that's about 20% full. I'll probably replace that but am sort of apprehensive due to rumors (or truth) of reformulation. That's the only bottle that's low....
Hello all! Tonight is a Osswald Oud 1 type of evening.
Yes! Snag them! Worth it! These YSL classics are getting harder and harder to find.
I agree. I'd also like to point out TF GV as another good work scent.
Good morning all! Today is a Jardin d'Amalfi type of day.
At first, I was like wait what?! Then I looked at your location, and it all made sense lol. That's really cool though. Have yet to see that in Chicago (although I don't get out as much I would like...
If they ask, it means they're curious so I view it as rude not to tell them. Unless they asked, "Who's wearing that nauseating nasty garbage?" then I usually look the other way and whistle while...
"Degrading"? Not in the slightest bit. There might be a few people here and there thinking, "He smells feminine," but I doubt anyone is going to think of you differently nor publicly call you out on...
Drakkar Horizon was always dreary to my nose.
I get happy yes. Then I get sad for thinking how much I just spent on a bottle or decant. "I could have bought x numbers of beers/bus passes/dinners out with friends/baby formula." Then I buy another...
Wearing it today actually! I don't reach for it much, but when I do, I don't know why i don't wear it more often.
I try to avoid the wrist since like cacio pointed out, I wear a watch and write/use a mouse with my right. I've always applied to the inner elbows if I were to spray anywhere on my arms (not often...
I concur. It's the only Odin I've tried but I quite like it.
Strange. I got pretty good longevity with 01.
Most people have inexperienced noses (myself included) and many times leading to a trigger that reminds them of a select few scents they're familiar with.
Day 2892: They caught me.
I finally got myself to get in a split of the Rose d'Arabie (shoutout to Remik). Upon initial spray, I found it strikingly similar to Rose Oud. Obviously, they're both rose/oud scents but which of...
But still. Congrats on your finds. It's a whole new world out there.
