This one for me:
They know how to give customers less for more money and will probably tell you that your better off as well. And such is the art of the con!
Quorum - A oppressive and suffocating fragrance.
Roja Dove - Stand and Deliver By Adam Ant.
Taylor Of Old Bond Street - Holding Back The Years - Simply Red.
Tom Ford - Do You Think I'm Sexy - Rod Stewart
The type of tattoos people get never fails to amuse me.
No but the Guerlain L'Homme line is imo. By the way I thought Dior Homme Sport was pretty awful.....lol..... did not like that gingery powdery thing it had going on.
The first sign you know when a fragrance line is going downhill is when they release a Sport version. It's like they have no respect for the fragrances that have gone before it and are just trying to...
I did not like Declaration Essence at first but it has grown on me.
+1.... Patrick is a very good under the radar Fougere for a afforable price. Very nice!
Same here recorded on the 12/06/10. Must of been when the wardrobe was first introduced from the old list of scents you had to write in yourself at the time.
Many of us have been intoxicated by it's beauty. It's what you could imagine heavens waiting room would smell like before you step off into paradise.
Lol.... My taste for this one has taken a dive as it reminds me of funeral home's now. Check out my earlier post, shame.
On basenotes it's the Forums that interest me the most. Whilst it's the opposite with Fragrantica, I like the reviews than their forums.
The edp has a dirty civet accord in the opening and is more thick and full bodied where the edt is lighter and more easy to wear. Imo it is not a safe blind buy, you may like it but it's going to be...
Congrats, this is a good one!
If you want a good bold Vetiver fragrance then VE is the way to go. Though if you want a scent where the Vetiver accord is underplayed then the Creed is the best choice. For me I prefer OV though I...
Habit Rouge L ' Eau
Most Acqua Di Parma Fragrances
Vintage Paco Rabanne Pour Homme
Taylors Eaton College
I have not tried any scents from Jo Malone as yet but they do have a good reputation. So I will take your word for it. :)
I have a love and hate relationship with Oud and have tried the real stuff to the synthetic. Imo the real stuff is a acquired taste and can come across as weird or stinky to our western...
So sorry to hear this dreadful news. Take everyday as it comes and try to find solace from those that care for you the most.
Glad to hear you say this. I wore the vintage Joop for 18 months straight as my work fragrance many years ago. Though it was strong I never got any negative feedback from wearing it in all that time....
For those hot Summers this is the one you want.
I remember years ago that there used to be a feature that you could see who else shares your SOTD in a box. I always missed that little feature and was wondering if there is any chance bringing it...
I think they are imo on a whole a hit and miss house. I have found some to be real stunners like Nio or generic like Uden. Some are even awful like Zafar unless you like to smell like cheese and cow...
A very good and well researched article. Thanks!
Except for Old Spice and the like a lot of people would be wearing just bay rum and witch hazel.
I was quite disappointed with L'Occitan Eau de Toilette. The ingredients were good but the scent was very boring, it needed imo more notes to make it into a more well rounded fragrance.
Years ago I remember my girlfriend going on about the amount of fragrances I have and it's not normal to have so many. I then politely reminded her of how many shoes she has and that was not normal....
LIDGE is more heavier than the one you have. Not a necessity if you have one or the other.
I would check out the following:
Habit Rouge L Eau
Songe d'un Bois d'Ete
L' Homme Ideal...
All my Creeds have been filled to the shoulder like your photo and never to the neck.
From a sample:
Tuscan Leather for me as it kind of broke the mold in the leather genre when it was released.
Those of you that are from the UK may be interested that a very rare bottle of Crabtree & Evelyn Extract Of Mysore Sandalwood is up for auction on Ebay.
Amouage Homage Attar
Green Irish Tweed
Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille
Game, Set and Match!...lol
I like Afrika Olifant as it's a surprisingly fresh smoky incense fragrance with a hint of musky sweetness. Looking at the note breakdown you would be forgiven to think this scent is going to be...
Songe d 'un Bois d' Ete is a very sensual and intimate scent, the balance between the dark notes is offset well with the floral jasmine. A fragrance for the Lothario who wants to attract the ladies...
Both have suffered in reformulations. Ambre Nuit has been cheapened and is a cloying mess and Ambre Sultan is a glorified skin scent, Such a shame!
From a sample:
If I did not already own Tom Fords Italian Cypress I would have purchased this no doubt about it. Its like a fresh Italian Cypress Lite with a few floral's thrown in. It smells better to my nose and...
You do get jaded after a while and the gaps between finding a worthy gem get longer. Though when you do test a scent that impresses you, the excitement and magic of which brought you into the hobby...
They do another fragrance called Eaton college which is also very lovely if you like Neroli. It actually smells better than a lot of the expensive Neroli scents though short lived (three hours).
Congrats, it's a lovely scent and quite unequal smelling whilst it lasts.
Well my sample of this fragrance arrived today and I am wearing it as my Sotd. Here are my first impressions and thoughts on the fragrance.
On the opening I can smell a light haze of...
I just got my sample this morning and I'm wearing it as my SOTD
I have a sample of this on it's way to me. I'm kind of intrigued by what their interpretation of the classic gentleman scent is going to be. Also I really like the note breakdown:
Top Notes: green...
I got to go with Original Vetiver.
Jil Sander Man Absolute - A rare versatile beauty!
It's been a while since I've spotted any gems or potential gems. But reading up on Floris 1962 I just had to order a sample, it does look very appealing. A new fragrance done in the classic gentleman...
I like Patchouli but not in Diors Patchouli Imperial. There is this heavy earthy note that smells off within the scent, can't pinpoint it but I dislike it.
It's a old retail trick to give you less for more and convince you that you are getting a good deal. lol
I find the small glass spray atomisers to be good and useful. I've had a few Travalo ones over the years and they always leaked on me.
If we are talking about Penhaligons Opus 1870 then its totally different from Gucci Pour Homme II. Opus 1870 is mainly cedar and rose whist Gph II is violet leaf, black tea and cinnamon with a host...
I felt young again as a lot of them I tried in the Eighties as teenager. So it was like recapturing my youth. So for me they are more like teenager scents than old man scents.
