Have not! I'll check it out.
Enjoy the heck out of those!
Hey guys and gals, it's been 4 years so I'm taking my family back in June...any new fragrance temptations I should check out?
I might wear the EDP one more time and give it another chance.
I bought the following from a fellow Basenoter:
L'Occitan Pour Homme
Parfums de Nicolai New York Intense
Lalique Hommage de la Homme
I wish I had a different report, but so far the EDP has not been much better for me. It's probably just my nose. I wore 3 healthy sprays yesterday (neck, chest, stomach) and I could barely detect it...
Botegga Venetta PH
But it is a great place to meet a "keeper"! But I agree, that should not be the main reason.
I was thinking the exact same thing. My wife liked it on me, but I never really came around to it for myself. I had to over apply it to enjoy it, and I fear that would have the effect that the...
Chanel Bleu EDP
I buy my suits at Jos A Bank and Express. So...no. My jeans at Buckle or Kohls, other items at Dillards usually.
That's how I roll as well.
I wonder if the pomade is any good...
Penhaligon's Endymion. I just like it.
I plan on wearing the EDP for the first time tomorrow and I hope I have the same experience.
Of the current EDT's, I'd take Bleu I guess. I have trouble smelling both of them on myself after about 2 hours.
I'm a CEO, but I guess I don't travel in the same circles as you guys. I've NEVER smelled Aventus on anyone else, and I've been to LA, SF and NYC in the last 3 years. Hmmmm....maybe my sniffer is...
I just ordered Penhaligon's Endymion and I ponied up the extra shipping cost so I can get it in about 3 days. I get sick of waiting anymore.
Here's the deal: If I wear 3 sprays, I cannot smell it except for a whisper in a couple of hours. However my wife can smell it on me as many as 9 hours later. For my personal enjoyment, I detest its...
I ALWAYS look at the women's section in these stores. In the past I would often find men's Cartier scents put there by mistake.
I will go against the grain. I like Declaration D'un Soir and Pasha Edition Noire. They both smell modern, fresh and year around to me, but I know others feel differently about these two.
Ha-ha! I'm no pugilist...the only thing I pound are Venti Mochas at Starbucks! I think my picture has thrown folks off a bit. A lot of my conservative family man posts have people thinking I'm a...
MFK Pluriel Masculin
Aventus is a much better scent, but I get what you're saying.
I do agree that there is a similarity to some cheaper scents. Still smells great to me. Preferred Stock and Smalto come to mind.
Eau des Baux
I agree. Great scent.
My wife always liked Gucci II on me when I had it.
Nice get. Well played.
L'Occitane Eau des Baux. It's 30 freaking degrees this AM.
Bleu de Chanel EDP.
Yep. It's a kinda sweet smokey scent. Real nice.
Commes des Garçons
I'm satisfied the way it is. People can't seem to police themselves very well. Such as the autism remark recently. Way out of bounds.
Thanks, kind sir!
No, because I am tech deficient! Just google the combo and it should come up. Sorry!
Very solid advice. I have bought many scents just because they were decent and cheap for the retail therapy rush. Regretted 90% of them. Better to spend more less frequently on quality. And sample a...
Interesting story about their store in Italy.
You'll win that bet!
Bleu de Chanel EDT
Yes, it has an old school, very masculine vibe to it. Reminds me of an 80's or 90's men's scent. That's not to say it's a power house, but it is strong enough. Could use a tad more strength, but I'm...
Days of wine and roses. Just kidding. It's a term that means carefree youthful days, or just better times. The better times in this case were when one could roll into one of these stores and...
I really like this one. Keeper for me.
Edt: sharper, more citrus, more edge, more projection, weak to the wearer
Edp: flatter, sweeter, stronger up close to the wearer
They're both good. I decided not to sell my Edt after smelling...
No. It's bad.
All very good points.
All very good points.
Sometimes I wish I still had that scent...
Fantastic work. For my PR fix, I think I would go to Bond No. 9 Great Jones these days.
Well, that's creepy.
In all honesty, I just washed my hands with soap and water and Bleu EDP still smells very nice wafting off the back of my hand. GRRR...I'll probably end up getting it too!
Hate to hear that as I thought the one before was muted. Just not enough zip for me, but it did smell nice.
I finally tested the EDP on my skin today at Sephora. Frankly, I'm let down. I was hoping for more power. It's softer and rounder, not exactly what I was looking for. It may last longer, but I don't...
Welcome from an old timer! Best of luck!
Uh, that too!
WOW, Jack! You make this sound fantastic!
I'm thinking of buying this for summer...any new takes?
My wife really liked D'un Soir on me last night. It is a lot stronger than I recalled.
Evidence is a light scent that probably is better for summer, but I think that the Cartier will be fine as...
You're probably a lucky man!
The original made me and my son about gag. Not for me.
Yes. I think the salad days are over. It was fun while it lasted.
This is interesting as I wonder if CK might just become the official in-house line of these discounters. Or maybe it already has...
I liked the other bottle.
My wife's Top 3 on me:
1. TDH Perfume
2. YSL Rive Gauche
3. Creed Aventus
Yes. A very nice scent as well.
Givenchy Gentlemen Only. It's weak in my opinion, but I do love the aroma. I've bought and sold it off probably 3 times! Almost did it again, but I know I'd get next to nothing for it and...
Thanks! I'm blessed with a great family. Better than I deserve, to be sure. I don't know much about Hednic, except that he's a family man like me. We have great lives. I would not change a thing.
I agree. Plus all the synthetics means it's less susceptible to batch variations. Good scent.
Nailed it. That said, I think Pure Havane is a year around scent.
I think it's a very solid designer release. Very nice for spring and summer and crosses many age groups. An easy wear that generates compliments. Good mainstream release that requires little thought,...
Yep. That be me. Wife on left, college son on right, little man got edged out to the right and low!
Hednic, which are your faves from this line? Most masculine?
Cartier Declaration D'Un Soir. Ooooohh....this is nice...don't know why I sold it a year ago. Loving it today. Perfect work scent.
Bvlgari Pour Homme. This one is easy.
Wore it today and I have really enjoyed it. So far, so good!
I love buying cologne! It's my favorite vice by far...oh, also sweets! What a grand hobby we share.
A less sharp version of Spicebomb IMHO.
Royal Oud actually does very well on my skin. I do think many Creeds need air in the bottle via spraying and some time to ripen before they are optimum. I know, expensive scents should not require...
Thanks, guys. I appreciate your input.
Yes, one gets the full-breadth of human qualities! Strengths and weaknesses. Basenotes is a true melting pot!
For the EDP owners, do you find it is more noticeable for your own enjoyment over the course of the day? The EDT washes out quick to my nose and I can't smell it a few hours later.
I got very little rose from the Evidence. Much from the Cartier. They are both nice scents. I'd go for the Cartier (which I actually just bought). Evidence smells like Bond No. 9 Brooklyn to me. It's...
Fellas, fellas, fellas....
Simple but profound.
For me personally, I wear scents that appeal to #1 Me, #2 My Wife. If the two of us like it, everyone else can hang. That said, it's ALWAYS nice to be complimented on how nice I smell. I mean, DUH. ...
Glad you are satisfied! Hope you enjoy your Aventus as well. These are 2 great scents.
Creed Original Vetiver
I got my new OV tester today. Lot #A4012M01
I'll let y'all know how it performs in a few days.
Creed sent me an email today hyping it's new availability online. Heads up!
Thanks for all the excellent suggestions. You guys rock!
I like American Crew products better than anything else. Their pomade is the bomb. Been using it for at least 10 years now. Works well on fine hair like mine.
I think that's one of the ones I had. Kind of warm and sweet, better version almost of JOOP! , but a lot classier?
Sounds like something my wife would love on me.
Appreciate the head's up!
Thanks guys! I think I'll pick up a couple of the lower priced ones in April. I want something warm, spicy yet light enough for summer.
